Innocent Little Runt -
Chapter 54
Xavier’s POV
I ran my hand through my hair as I tried to do paper work. I finally have Celeste back and she isn’t in my arms. I try to focus on my work but stop once I realize I am never going to get anything done without her beside me.
I pushed myself out of my chair and walked out of my office. I know she wanted some time with her friend but I can’t stand being apart from her any longer.
Lycer. . . I can’t stand him. I hate the way that he is close to Celeste. I mean, I want her to have friends, I really do. I want her to be as happy as possible. I just wish she could have a friend who wouldn’t even have a possibility of being into her. . . Maybe I’ll get her a pet instead.
I go to the room where I dropped Celeste off at, Lycer’s room. There’s no guards. . .
What if she was taken again? I can’t go through that again and she can’t either. She got injured last time. I knew I never should have trusted that. . . that mutt near Celeste.
I start to panic and push open the door. They’re not there.
Where is my mate, I growl, at one of the men who I put as a guard, through the mind link.
They’re both in the library Alpha, he mind links back. I let out a sigh of relief. She’s safe.
I start to walk to the library as my wolf calms down. I look at the guards and growl at them. They both look down in shame. “One of you should have mind linked me,” I growled. “Neither of you are to be trusted with this task again and you have an extra two days of training. And I’ll have Jake make it a harsh training. . .” They both nod, one of them shaking in their spot. I push past both of them and enter the library.
I look around the library and find Celeste. She’s curled up on the couch next to Lycer, reading a book. I look at the book cover and see the title “Pride and Prejudice.” She is too close to him but I smile anyways as I noticed something else. Celeste’s hair was short. Really short.
I walked closer and I see Celeste’s eyes move to me. Her eyes lit up and she pushes herself off of the couch. I pull her to me and use one hand to touch the end of her hair. “Do y-you like i-it?” I chuckle a bit as she stutters.
“I love it little one,” I whisper into her ear. I k**s the side of her neck. “You look beautiful.” I pull back and tilt her chin up. I place my lips on hers and gently k**s her. I trace her bottom l*p with my tongue but she pushes me back as a cough echoes around the room. I growl as I look back at the boy with the blond hair.
“Xavier,” Celeste whispers. The boy moves closer and holds out his hand, a small smile on his lips.
“It’s nice to meet you Alpha Xavier.” I could tell that he didn’t enjoy calling me Alpha. However, I wasn’t going to tell him to call me anything else. I still don’t like him. Even if he did protect Celeste, he is still too close to her for comfort. “Celestial has told me a lot about you.” I looked down at Celeste to see her blushing and I chuckled. “I’m glad you make her happy.” I looked back up at him, telling myself not to glare at him.
“And I’m glad you’ve protected her. I don’t know what would happen to me if I never met her or got to see her again.” I look back down at Celeste and k**s the top of her head. Celeste wraps her arms around me and pulls herself closer.
“Alpha!” I look over to see Delian running over from the small children’s section we have. Mother had organized it when she found out she was pregnant and it only grew when she figured out she was pregnant with Lesa. I miss my parents honestly. . . I’ll have to call them and see if they’ll come back. They can meet Celeste. Mother will love her but I don’t know if Father will. . .
“Hello Delian,” I say softly and kneel down in front of her. “Does your dad know you’re here?I know I told you that you could see Celeste but your dad likes to know where you are.” She looked down and kicked the ground around her feet.
“Fine,” she mumbled and looked back up. “Bye-bye Alpha.” Celeste knelt down and hugged Delian. I noticed her wince but it was a very small wince. “Bye Luna! Bye mister!” She looked up at Lycer when saying that and ran out of the library.
I looked back to Lycer and pushed myself off of the ground. I pulled Celeste to me, holding her close to my chest. “Lycer why don’t I have one of the pack members give you a tour of the pack grounds. I’m sure Celeste would love for you to stay. . .” It was going to piss me off but it would make Celeste happy. I quickly mind linked Jake, knowing that if this Lycer guy was a bad person then Jake could deal with him. I tell Lycer to go downstairs, knowing that it’s pretty obvious on how to get there.
As soon as he leaves I put my hands on Celeste’s waist. I smashed my lips against hers. Her lips were soft against mine and I couldn’t resist the urge to weave my hand in her hair. I liked her hair short. It was. . . nice. I bit her bottom l*p and she gasped. I pulled away before things could go any further. I was concerned about her ever since I saw her wince. I just want her to relax right now.
I hold her firmly against me and she wraps her arms around my neck. “The numbing isn’t fully working is it?” She shook her head and leaned against my chest. “Let’s go. I still have some work to do and you can lay down on the couch in my office.” I took her hand and my own, leading her out the door. My hand isn’t the only thing she holds. This girl, this beautiful girl beside me, holds my heart.
