Celeste’s POV

I woke up and winced. My back was killing me.

I looked up to see the sight of a shirtless Xavier. I blushed, remembering last night’s events. I curled my hand into a ball on top of his chest as a burning pain went throughout my back.

“Celeste?” I looked back up to Xavier and a smile came across his lips. He wrapped his arms around my n***d form. Ignoring the pain, I wrapped my arms around his neck.

“Xavier,” I sighed. I’ve missed waking up next to him. I’ve missed a comfy bed. I’ve missed having a nice breakfast. Oh my goddess, I’ve missed pancakes. It hasn’t even been that long. . .

“You have no idea how much I have missed waking up with you by my side, little one, and no idea how long I have dreamed of waking up next to you like this.” My blush deepened. Xavier chuckled and pulled me closer. I winced.

Xavier looked at me with a slight frown. “Is your back hurting?” I nodded and he got up. I resisted the urge to whine as he stepped away from me. If possible, my blush deepened as I watched his n***d form walk away.

He tossed me one of his long sleeve button up shirts as he left to get dressed. I quickly put on his shirt, trying to not let it touch my back too much. I put on his boxers as well, wincing at the soreness in my body.

“Little one,” Xavier said, trying to catch my attention. I smiled at him as he held out a hand. I intertwined our fingers and yelped in surprise as he pulled me to his chest.

“I love you Xavier.” He smiled at me and kissed my forehead.

“I love you too and I will repeat those words every day, even with my dying breath I will tell you I love you.” I pushed away from him, slapping his chest.

“You always get so cheesy. You’re ridiculous.”

“And you love it!” I rolled my eyes and a new question popped into my mind.

“Where’s Lycer?” I also had another question involving food but that could wait for later. . . Maybe.

“He’s in a bedroom downstairs. I’ll show you there after you shower and change. I don’t want anyone else seeing you with that much skin showing.” He growled slightly causing me to roll my eyes again. “And go down to Zay to give you something for the pain and something else.” I could see his eyes glaze over meaning he was mind linking someone.

Mind linking. I couldn’t mind link the pack or anyone yet. . . Xavier didn’t mark me but then again I didn’t want him too. Not quite yet. I wanted everything settled and nice and yesterday everything was so insane. I didn’t regret it of course but I just want to wait.

I smile, another thought coming to my mind. I can mind link Lycer again. Lycer had mind linked me once before I lost all contact with him. He told me not to use our link, saying that there were ways to trace it back to me. He didn’t want them finding me. Sadly, that didn’t work out because, obviously, they managed to find me anyways.

Xavier k****s me on the forehead one last time and went off to make me breakfast. I go and take a shower, wincing every time the water hit my sore, aching body. It was especially painful when the water hit my back. I got out and put on one of Xavier’s long sleeved shirts, tying it at the waist, and a pair of pajama pants that I had grabbed before going into the bathroom. When I walked back into the room I smiled at the sight of pancakes, eggs, and more bacon. I love this!

I basically ran over to the plate and swallowed the food whole. Not really of course. I took my time on the bacon. I heard a chuckled and looked up to see Xavier leaning against the door. I blushed from embarrassment making his smile widen.

“Come on little one.” I could see the happiness in his eyes so of course I nodded. I liked it when he was happy and it hurt just thinking about how he must have felt without me here. I was sick from being away from him, I don’t even know what happened to him.

Xavier lifted me up in his arms and I wrapped my arms around his neck. I wasn’t going to protest being in his arms. I inhaled his scent of coconuts and fresh rain, all my worries going away. He set me down on the bed in Zay’s office.

“Celeste!” Zay threw her arms around me, my sight getting blocked by her blonde hair. I winced as she accidentally squeezed my back. Zay let go of me and turned to Xavier. “You! Out now!” She pushed him out of the room despite his protests. Zay turned back to me with a smile. “Congrats.”

“On what?” Zay chuckled.

“You and Xavier mated. You’re one step closer to becoming the true Luna of this pack.” I felt myself blush.

“How did you-“

“Xavier.” I was going to kill him. “He mind linked me this morning so I could give you this,” she said as she handed me a pill and a small glass of water. My eyebrows scrunched together in confusion. “Xavier, and I personally, don’t think you are ready for pups right now.” I nodded, automatically knowing that I didn’t want pups right now. Just like the marking I wanted everything to be settled. Not everything felt settled right now. With that thought in mind I put the pill on my tongue and gulped it down with the water.

“Zay? Do you think Xavier gets upset that I’m not ready for a lot of things?” she smiled at me and shook her head.

“Xavier loves you. He loves you so much that he doesn’t care about that.” I smiled. “No lay down so I can numb your back.”

After she finished numbing my back, I got up and walked out. Xavier, being Xavier, was waiting right outside of the door. He smiled when he saw me and pulled me to his chest. “Xavier?” I pulled away and looked him in the eyes. “Where’s Lycer?” He growled but stopped when I glared at him.

“Fine.” He basically stomped all the way to the room Lycer was in. “Are you sure he’s safe?” I rolled my eyes and nodded. “I just don’t want you to get hurt.”

“And Lycer will be one of the last people to hurt me. I promise. Just do some Alpha work because I am sure you just let it pile up on your desk. I just want to check up on him. He was there for much longer than I was and before then he was a rogue. He was a rogue for longer than me and now he is in a pack. I just want to make sure he’s okay. He’s my best friend and I worry about him.”

Xavier sighed, “Fine. But I am going to send two warriors down here to guard the door and if they hear anything suspicious then I am going to give them permission to drag him down to the cellar.” My eyes widened but I honestly didn’t expect anything less. “I love you Celeste; I just want to protect you.” He leaned down and pressed a chaste k**s to my lips.

“I’ll see you later.” I nodded and watched as he walked down the hallway. I turned back to the door and gently pushed it open. I smiled when I saw Lycer’s sleeping face. He looked so peaceful. Oh well! I ran over to him and jumped on top of him.

Lycer quickly jumped up and grabbed my arms. When he looked at me, he calmed down and let go of my wrists. “Don’t do that Celestial.” I gave him a slight frown but it didn’t last long. I was home and with my best friend. It’s like a dream come true. Next thing I know I have my arms wrapped around Lycer’s shoulders, hugging him as if he was going to go away again.
