Xavier’s POV

I growled at my wolf as I got up from the bed. I could hear Celeste whimpering in pain as I moved away from her. It would only get worse as her heat continued, but I knew that she would at least need food. I took a key and locked the door so no one else would be able to enter. Of course Celeste can unlock it from the inside if she needed to but I don’t want anyone to enter the room while she is in heat. Jake, Josh, and Jared may have been okay around her this morning but I can’t say the same for any other pack members.

I walk down stairs and into the kitchen. Immediately I see the little girl who had fallen in love with Celeste when they met. Delian, I think her name was. She looks up at me and her eyes brighten in excitement.

“Alpha!” She runs over to me and stops right in front of me.

“Good morning Delian,” I say, and she smiles as if I just brightened up her whole day.

“Where’s the Luna?” I smiled at her, trying not to worry her since Celeste is in pain from her heat right now.

“She’s sleeping right now.” An idea suddenly popped into my head. “Would you like to help me make her breakfast?” She nods her little head frantically.

I lean down and pick her up, setting her down on the counter. I grab a bowl and put it next to her. I get out the ‘lazy pancake mix’ which is the one where you only add water. I pour the right amount of pancake mix and water in the bowl. I get out a whisk and hand it to Delian. She takes it and mixes it all together, her smile never leaving her face.

I cook the pancakes and let Delian put them on the plate and top them with powdered sugar and syrup. When she finishes she high fives me as if we just saved the world.

“Would you like to help me take it up to her?” She looked in thought for a moment, her blue eyes shining with very slight worry.

“I don’t think Dad would be very happy if I wandered off.” I chuckled and ruffled her ginger hair up. She pushed my hand away and glared at me.

“Don’t worry about your dad. I’ll mind link him that you are with me. How does that sound?” She nodded, her smile coming back. She nodded and hopped off the counter, almost falling on her knees. She dusted herself off and grabbed my hand. I quickly grabbed the large plate of food in my other hand and let Delian lead me up the stairs. I tugged her every so now and again so we would go in the right direction.

I stopped her right outside the door to the room and crouched down in front of her. “Wait right here, okay?” She nodded and I handed her the plate of food. I grabbed the key out of my pocket and unlocked the door. I slid inside and closed the door to where it was open only a c***k.

Celeste was clutching her stomach in pain, pulling the blanket closer to her. Her eyes snapped up to me and she gave me a tight smile. I walked over to her and sat beside her.

“Hey little one,” I whispered and kissed the side of her head. She turned around and started to k**s my neck, her little teeth biting on the skin. I sighed and pulled her back from me. Her eyes were a dark color, almost black, letting me know that it was her wolf. “Can I have Celeste back?” She nodded and her eyes went back to their usual brown color. Celeste blushed and looked down.

“Sorry,” she whispered and I chuckled.

“It’s fine.” I lifted her head up to look me in the eyes. I leaned forward and brushed my lips against hers ever so slightly. I pulled back, not wanting her wolf to take over again. “I have a surprise for you.” Her eyebrows scrunched together in confusion. “Delian!” I called out loud enough for her to hear. “You can come in now!”

Celeste turned her head towards the door just as Delian came bouncing in, her ginger hair flopping around for every step she took. I was honestly surprised that she didn’t drop the food by the time she made it over to the bed.

“Luna! The Alpha and I made you breakfast!” Delian set the plate down and hopped up on our bed, after struggling for a little bit of course. Celeste slid off of my lap and moved beside me so I was still touching her in little ways. We sat up as Delian grabbed the plate of pancakes and placed it in front of us.

Celeste smiled at Delian and dug in, eating almost all of the food in under ten minutes. I chuckled at my mate’s love for food.

“Was it good?” Delian asked with a huge smile, her blue eyes shining hopefully.

“It was amazing Delian,” Celeste said sweetly. She clutched her stomach and I put my arm around her, trying to get her pain to go away.

Xavier can you tell Delian to come home? Jared voice rang out in my mind.

“Delian, your dad wants you home.” Delian’s eyes lit up.

“Yay! Dad said that we are going to visit Mommy today!” I smiled at her as Celeste’s eyebrows scrunched together in confusion. Delian hopped off the bed and bounced out of the room.

“Jared is her father and his mate is a human. She got cancer when Delian was two or three, I think. Cancer is like an awful human sickness. She has been in the hospital for a few months now. She is just too sick to come home.” I answered Celeste’s unspoken questions, smiling sadly at the end.

“Oh,” she said shortly.

I grabbed the plate and moved it to Celeste’s night stand. I grabbed the remote to the television and turned on a random movie. I pulled Celeste close to me and pushed my shirt up so I could massage her stomach. It was what Father would do whenever Mom was in heat. The little sigh that passed Celeste’s lips told me that it did help.

“How’s your headache little one?” She shrugged and tugged a blanket over her legs. She started to rub her wrists and I noticed that she took off the long sleeved shirt that she had on under mine. “Do you want me to get you a long sleeved shirt?” She nodded. “One of yours or mine?”

“Yours please.” I kissed her forehead and got up to get her one of my long sleeved shirts. I tossed it to her and she looked down, a blush rising on her neck. “Turn around.” I chuckled and did as she said. I turned back around when the shirt she was wearing before landed on my head. She looked really small, smaller than usual, when she wore my shirts.

I sat back down on the bed and continued to watch the movie while massaging Celeste’s stomach. She turned around and pulled herself closer to me but kept her eyes on the television the entire time. My wolf growled in satisfaction but I could tell that all he wanted to do right now was mate her. She wasn’t ready for that yet. And I would wait for forever for her to be ready.
