Chapter 24

Third Person P.O.V

As soon as Bella had walked into the store she got straight to work as she had already missed out on a lot of her wages due to her own negligence. There was still about another two hours to go before school started, Lily was also busy working on the other side of the store. After about an hour of working, both Lily and Bella decided to take a break as there weren't as many customers in the shop.

"My neck is hurting a lot." Lily groaned, moving her head from side to side with a mug of coffee in her hand. She was trying to get some relief, but Bella noticed that it appeared as if Lily hadn't slept at all last night.

"Why? What happened? Didn't you sleep very well?" Bella asked. But Lily found it very difficult to answer such a simple question. Last night Oliver and his friends had been drinking and partying in the hall of the house. The noise of their music, mixed with their loud voices and strange animal-like sounds could be heard throughout the house, they had all been completely insensitive.

Lily hadn't been able to sleep with such an uproar going on around her, but at the same time she was scared that the neighbours would soon complain to the police about the noise. Last night Lily had locked herself in her room in fear that one of Oliver's friends would try to come in. The party had started at midnight and continued until four in the morning, the only reason it had stopped was because Oliver and his friends had run out of alcohol.

These parties occurred about four times a week leaving Lily forced to spend the night pacing around her room, helpless in the entire situation. She couldn't leave her room even if she had wanted to or else she would be spotted by Oliver's terrible drunken and disgusting friends. Oliver always brought home any random person that was willing and ready to get drunk with him no matter how vile they were.

"I was not able to sleep last night, now my head is bothering me because of it, but I expect that this coffee will give me some relief." Lily replied, lying to Bella with a slight smile. Bella had noticed that Lily never talked about her family, perhaps she didn't feel comfortable talking about them. That was why Bella never asks questions about her personal affairs, as she doesn't want Lily to feel uncomfortable.

"Lily." Bella asked, attracting Lily's attention to her, while they both enjoyed their coffee.

"Yes." Lily answered, licking the coffee off her lips and looked at Bella with her big doe eyes.

"You know, if...if there's something in your heart that you ever want to share with someone, well I would be very happy if I become that person...." Bella nervously suggested giving Lily a reassuring smile. Even though she was unsure of how Lily was going to react to her offer, Lily was able to understand the hidden meaning in Bella's words.

"Thank you so much, Bella, that really means a lot to me. I know that you are always ready to share the sorrow and pain of others, but I don't want you to do that with me. There is no short supply of problems in your life and I don't want to bother or stress you out with mine. Anyway, my life is so different from normal people that if I tell someone everything they would just laugh and say that I was telling them the storyline of a movie instead of my life." Lily remarked, making Bella smile sadly at her.

"Okay, in all honesty I know that all of it is related to your family, the day we first met I heard what Tyler and the others were saying. They were talking about your mother and father, but don't worry, no one's life is perfect, my life is the biggest example of that..."Bella replied, taking a deep breath trying to encourage Lily. A small half smile came to the corner of Lily's lips as she nodded at Bella, they both got up after finishing their coffee and went back to being busy with work.

"Bella... soon it's......it's going to be my birthday, would you.....would you like to join me?" Lily asked, slightly hesitating as she had no idea of how Bella was going to react to this.

"What? Your birthday is coming up? Oh my god, that's great news. Yes, of course I will join you." Bella excitedly replied. Lily was both shocked and happy with Bella's enthusiasm.

"It has been a long time since I had a friend, and now it will be wonderful to be able to celebrate my birthday with my best friend." Lily acknowledged while smiling. Even though Bella could feel Lily's sadness she pretended like she didn't understand what she was talking about and gave Lily a big hug.

"Yes, this year we will celebrate it together." Lily announced, hugging Bella back.

"Well, where are we going to celebrate your birthday?" Bella asked, as soon as they had gotten to the counter.

"Would you like to come to my home?" Lily asked, having already confirmed that thankfully Oliver wasn't going to be there. Oliver was going to be out of town on her birthday as well as the following day. So Lily was thrilled at the prospect of celebrating a peaceful birthday with her friend. "Okay, let's do it. I will come to your house." Bella replied.

"Ummm...." Someone suddenly cleared his throat asking for attention. When they turned around they saw that it was the manager.

"Ladies, would you please come with me?" The manager asked them, fixing his glasses on his nose. They both looked at each other, following him to the other side of the store.

"We didn't make any mistakes, right?" Lily whispered.

"I don't know. I don't believe so. We were talking because there was no one here." Bella whispered back. The manager stopped and turned to see the two beautiful girls who looked nervous.

"No need to be nervous girls. I have called you here because I want to tell you both some important news." The manager said with a serious tone and a high chime in his voice, absolutely increasing the curiosity in the girl's heart.

"What's that?" Bella and Lily inquired, stepping forward a little.

"This shop has been sold..." The manager announced.

"WHAT!?" Bella and Lily shouted together, their jaws dropping open in shock.

"Yes, the shop has been sold." The manager repeated again.

"It means that we have now lost our jobs." Lily concluded.

"Now we can not work here." Bella concurred.

"Now what will we do?" Bella and Lily asked, both of them turning to face the manager.

"Chill girls and let me finish talking." The manager said dramatically.

"Someone else has purchased the shop at double the price, so you are both still employed here. He ordered us not to fire any of the old part time workers." The manager explained, giving both girls relief.

"Thank god." Lily and Bella exclaimed together, sitting down in the chair.

"But what about pay? Did the new owner change that too?" Bella wondered, the manager's nod snatched the floor out from under the girls.

"What? How much has he decreased the pay?" Lily asked, sounding doomed. Now what was she going to tell Oliver, he always waited for her to give him as much money as she could. He only waited for her arrival with money in her hand and would really hurt her hand if she gave him less money. Bella was not in a position to think anything, as she was running out of money now. Her mom's card was nearly empty after she had bought lobster for Asher. He had tried giving her money, but she had not accepted it. She still had not paid her last electricity or water bills.

"Actually the new owner did not decrease the pay, but he did increase it." The manager explained. His words pulled Lily and Bella out of their thoughts.

"What?" Bella asked, hoping for something good.

"He increased the pay and now it is double." The manager said. Bella's black beautiful round eyes widened as she heard double! "What? Doubled?" Lily exclaimed, blinking her eyes in disbelief.

"Yes, he has already deposited this month's pay into your bank accounts you both can check. There is also a bonus because you girls did amazing work during Valentine's week. Now enjoy your raises and work hard." The manager urged, giving a warm smile and motivation, then he left. Lily and Bella looked at each other, still surprised and immediately pulled their phone's out.

"I must be dreaming!" Lily almost shouted. Seeing her reaction Bella also checked her account.

"Oh my god. I think I am too." Bella admitted, counting the zeros in her account. Her mouth had fallen wide open along with her eyes. The new owner had paid double and the bonus was also staggering. The money she used to buy the lobster and other things came back, rather it was more than the money that she spent. Suddenly she had become rich!

Now if she does not work for a month deciding to stay home like a cat then she would still be able to save a lot of money and pay all her bills. Incredible, absolutely Incredible! Bella and Lily jumped up from their seats hugging each other.

"OH MY GOD, THIS IS REALLY GOING TO HELP US AND SOLVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS!!" Lily happily shouted.

"YES IT IS..." Bella replied with the same amount of energy, but then abruptly stopped when she looked back at her account, which was now full of so much money it was as if she had won the lottery or something.

"I wonder who the new owner is and why he has such a big kind heart?" Bella asked and Lily stopped jumping.

"Hmm it is all rather dubious, you're right." Lily replied, suddenly thinking the same as Bella. Work had now finished and it was now time to head to school. Their classes went by fast and now it was time for a break. So wearing short skirts showing off their slim pretty waists and their long beautiful legs paired with a short sleeveless top, revealing how slim and smooth their arms were Victoria, Lily and Bella looked like models as they walked out onto the school athletic fields.

Bella's P.O.V

"By the way, there is a mark on your neck. It suits you," I joked, taking the ball from Victoria's hands with a devilish smile. Lily was looking at Victoria's mark in shock and it made her blush. "Thank you." Victoria replied, rubbing her hand over her mark.

"But what happened when you went to The New Moon Pack to take the oath? How did Alpha Gabriel react to seeing you?" I inquired. As I bounced the ball on the ground, moving my body and the ball, surrounded by only Victoria and Lily. We were the only three on the basketball court, playing and talking as it was our lunch time, but none of us wanted to eat as Lily and I wanted to celebrate Victoria's happiness with her. Today Victoria had arrived at school just before lunch time and asked us to meet her on the basketball court after changing out of our school uniforms and into our sports clothes.

"Last night after David had marked me I passed out and when I opened my eyes I found myself at The New Moon Pack. Honestly I was scared as I had no idea how I had gotten there, but then Alpha Gabriel walked into the room followed shortly by Beta Levi and David. I was so scared to see them, but David sensed my fear and quickly came and stood beside me.

Alpha Gabriel actually turned out to be a hell of a lot kinder and more sensible than the Alpha from my old pack, he was so good to me, accepting me into his pack straight away. I was shocked to see that not only Alpha Gabriel, but also Beta Levi was kind as well and they are honestly the most suitable Alpha and Beta I have ever seen, now I understand why The New Moon Pack is the largest, most powerful pack in the city.

I took my oath and now I am a member of The New Moon Pack. I was able to come back to school to see both of you with Alpha Gabriel's permission." Victoria replied. Taking the ball from me Victoria swiftly threw it into the basket while my attention was diverted. I smiled at her, as she was too quick for me, but then again she was a coach and a pro.

"That's awesome." Lily replied, complimenting her. I knew she was not only talking about her skill, but also about everything that she had told us about Alpha Gabriel and Beta Levi. It confirmed for me that Lily knew about Asher and I, about us being werewolves, even though she doesn't say anything about it.

Lily was highly intelligent, with the way that she talks it was clear that she knew about us and everything. She must have researched it, but I also thought that it was good as she was not like the other humans who ask a lot of unnecessary questions about us. Actually Lily had never asked anything as she was intelligent enough to understand the situation, but the way she was looking at Victoria's mark was rather cute.

"It's great that you are finally with David. Should we now assume that everything is okay between you two?" Lily asked, snatching the ball from Victoria's hands, this time she was the one to throw it into the basket. We both looked at Victoria and saw the sudden change in her face when she heard David's name, but she didn't reply right away. Both Lily and I were watching her face.

Something was wrong, they had both marked each other and Victoria had accepted David, but something was definitely off. Maybe Victoria hasn't forgiven David for everything he had put her through to get to this point. Asher's P.O.V:

Leo and I were heading towards the canteen to fill our stomachs with some good food when my eyes caught sight of David running towards us. We already knew everything that had happened last night. David came next to me and began to walk with us. "Why do I feel that someone should be really tired and his legs must have given up as he was too busy to pleasure someone last night?" Leo sneered at David, while looking at me and I chuckled. Ever since last night Leo had taken an oath to poke and make fun of David to the extent where he would spill every last detail about his wonderful night with Victoria. But Leo did not get the reaction he had anticipated, all he earned was a long face and deep sigh from David. Leo and I exchanged curious and befuddled looks. "What's wrong?" I asked as we walked into the canteen, taking our places in line.

"Why are you so late? Where have you been? Don't tell me you were still busy with Victoria, clinging, cuddling, and not ready to leave your cozy bed." Leo chided, making fun and earning a stare from David's angry eyes which had turned red.

"What? A cozy bed? Clinging and cuddling? Hahaha...." David irritatibly scoffed, letting out an angry laugh which caused fear in the mind of his fangirls who were going to come to him with an offer of coffee like they always do. They all stayed away from him as they could not understand what had happened to their sweet, handsome, smiling teacher to suddenly turn him into a scary psycho. "What's... what's wrong?" Leo asked, lowering his tone at seeing David's abnormal behavior.

"I am f*****g dead, now, so f*****g dead. When I marked Victoria and brought her back to the pack Alpha saw the condition she was in. It was clear that Victoria had been crying a lot, Leo's mother was in the room with her the whole night and took care of her." "Alpha lectured me for not taking proper care of my mate. He was so angry that I had rejected her first and caused her so much pain, too much agony. Alpha Gabriel and Beta Levi both berated me for more than two hours, nearly making my ears bleed. In the morning after Victoria had taken the oath they all had breakfast with Victoria, but I wasn't allowed to join them at breakfast as part of my punishment and I nearly died of hunger."

"What I had done was criminal in Alpha Gabriel's and Beta Levi's eyes, they were both glaring furiously at me the entire time. I felt as if I had made a mistake and should just hang myself now, as the whole time they were cooing Victoria and now she has become like a daughter to Leo's mother the one she had always wished for."

"The whole time she was with Leo's mother chatting, laughing, and smiling with her, but she didn't look at me once. I tried to get near her, I badly wanted to take her over and over again, but she just kept pushing me away. For five whole hours she wasn't alone for a single second. When I went to my room to see Victoria she wasn't there. I panicked when I could not smell her anywhere in the pack only to come to know that she had returned to the city. She didn't even tell me she was coming to the school."

"You have no idea how crazy I went when I could not find her, I drove my car at full speed to get here. Now that my wolf can finally catch her warm vanilla and cinnamon scent in the school my heart beat has gotten back under control." David replied slamming his drink down on the table after gulping down it's contents in one go.

"Was it really that bad? Alpha and dad were really that upset?" Leo asked, he looked scared of his fathers anger.

"Yeah, they turned into demons when they came to know how I had treated Victoria and now the same will go for both of you. When they come to learn of how the two of you have treated your mates then I don't think they will even allow you to stay in the pack. The punishment could be the hardest, especially for the both of you as the future leaders." David replied, pointing to Leo and I. We just rolled our eyes and began eating our food, without any shame. David must have been really hungry as he had ordered a hell of a lot of food, way more than Leo and I.

"Why is the canteen so empty today?" David asked. I looked around to see that he was right. There were only girls here, not a single boy was here except for us three.

"Hey, where are all the boys? Why is no one here?" David asked, stopping a young girl who blushed as David spoke to her.

"They are all outside watching Coach Victoria, Bella and Lily...." The girl said, not even able to finish her words.

"WHAT?!!!" We all growled in anger, as all the boys were watching our girls. The food slipped from Leo's hand and my eyes turned red.

"WHAT THE f**k?!! WHY ARE THEY WATCHING THOSE GIRLS?!!" I shouted, kicking the table in anger. I got up from my seat sniffing the air to follow Bella's scent. All the girls cleared out of our way, creating a path through the canteen as no one dared to get in front of us, as Leo and David were equally boiling in rage to hear what was going on.

"We are here in the canteen and she is on the basketball court where boys are watching her!" Ross growled in my mind. I tried my best not to imagine what part of her body exactly those boys were watching.

Just thinking those words made me want to yank those boy's eyes out of their heads. I reached the basketball court, all the boy basketball players including the other boys were watching the game that was going on in the athletic complex. Those who were werewolves already sensed my presence and walked away from there quietly, but those who were human were handled by Leo, who kicked their a*s hard making them scream.

"DON'T DARE TO COME HERE AGAIN!!" David growled, forgetting that he was a teacher. Since he had marked Victoria he had gone crazy for her and now the only males that were there were the three of us.

"I am going to Victoria." David announced and started to chase after her as she was walking towards the locker room.

"Where is she going?" Leo wondered, raising his eyebrows. I looked to see that he was watching Lily, who was running out of the main school door with her bag in a hurry. Leo had a weird look on his face, like he was feeling something unusual. "What's wrong?" I asked Leo, whose eyes were still fixed on Lily's vanishing figure.

"I don't know, but I want to find out. I'll be back soon." Leo affirmed running out of the school, following the same path that Lily had taken. Something was definitely wrong with her, I just shook my head looking back at the basketball court. The first thing that caught my eye was Bella, she was holding the ball in her hands and trying to throw it into the basket, maybe she was bad at this game.

Her long sexy legs, sweat covered chest, and waist were enough to make anyone stop breathing. The sweat rolled down from her neck to her chest was so attractive. She looked at the clouds that looked like it was going to rain. The cold wind was blowing through her long black hair. Pulling a rubber band from her pocket she tied up her hair as she looked like she was not ready to leave the court before putting the ball in the basket. Stretching her body in the air she bent to pick the ball up from the ground. "HEY BELLA! NEED A PARTNER?!" Taylor shouted from afar, she smiled at him.

"Yeah sure, come...." Bella started to say and was about to call him over before I pulled her back, placing my hand over her mouth, stopping her words. I felt her breath stick in her lungs from our sudden touch.

"No need." I replied to Taylor in a warning tone as he quickly changed his path to another, leaving her alone in my hold. I removed my hand from her mouth as she turned to face me. The weather was changing rapidly, soon it was going to rain. After two long days, I was finally getting to look at her face up close. Over the past two days she had completely ignored me. "But I need..." She replied, pushing me away from her, about to call Taylor for a game.

"No, you do not need to." I assured, pulling her back and raising her hand with the ball. Wrapping my one hand around her thin, smooth waist, we threw the ball together into the basket. The first drop of rain fell on us and we both glanced up. It was really raining. I stared down into her face to see that she had closed her eyes and was enjoying the feel of the rain, there was a smile on her face. Today I decided that the rain could be so beautiful when it fell on her skin. The most beautiful. I felt her shiver as my fingers played with her lower belly and she opened her eyes in panic, but without looking at me, she moved away.

"I...I need to leave..." She muttered, walking towards her bag that was on the bench. My eyes were on her revealing back, waist and chest. As she turned her chest bumped into mine, sending an electric shiver through my body as I was standing right behind her. Her eyes met with mine and I quickly wrapped my arm around her waist.

"Let's play." I whispered as the rain finally started. I was looking at her neck and I licked my lips.

"Now I do not want to play anymore." She replied, trying to push me with her small hand. I pulled her closer and my face closer to her lips.

"Why? Are you scared?" I asked, making her angry.

"Don't make me laugh. Who is scared of you?" She replied, getting irritated with her red lips that were now wet with the rain.

"BELLA, LETS GO!!!" I heard the annoying Taylor's voice who was in his car. Let's go? What does he mean let's go? She nodded her head, now I understood that she was going with him.

"Yes, I am coming?" Bella answered.

"Let me go." She said, removing my arm from her body.

"What does he mean?" I asked, clutching her hair in anger, trying not to be too hard.

"What do you think?" She inquired, looking into my eyes.

"WHY IS HE TAKING YOU HOME?! WHY IS HE GIVING YOU ROSES?!! WHY IS HE ACTING LIKE HE IS DATING YOU?!!" I shouted in fury as I clutched her arm to hold her completely. She was taking a deep breath and was not saying a single word. I was getting more furious with her silent reply. “f*****g REPLY TO ME! NOW!!" I growled, but she was not ready to submit. She would never submit.

"Maybe what you are thinking is right." She replied, not clearly saying that she was dating him. I nearly lost control at that moment listening to her. I growled in outrage pulling her hair up, I leaned down to kiss her. Those wet lips were softer than anything. She tried to push me back, but I just held her hands back letting go of her hair, I grabbed her body. I glared at Taylor who ran away from there as he understood that he was no longer needed here.

"Let go. He is watching." Bella scolded, she tried to shout, thinking that he was still watching.

"Why? Ashamed in front of your new boyfriend." I smirked, she was taking an angry breath after hearing me.

"I am not like you, Alpha Asher. I do not change boyfriends like clothes. Suzy, Jessica, and I don't know who was before them. Don't think I changed my taste so quickly. I am not rich like you, so I can not change boys daily in my bed..." Bella sneered, Ross boiled in anger at the thought of another man in her bed.

I just wanted to devour her whole starting with her big mouth. I slammed my mouth on hers, clenched her jaw as she was refusing to open her mouth for me. Biting and sucking, totally f*****g her mouth with my tongue, I made her breathless in my hold. Letting her breathe and moving her hair from her face, my eyes met with her angry ones.

"Soon your big mouth will be in trouble, hold it in front of me." I said asshe wiped her lips where I had kissed her.

"THERE WILL BE NO NEXT TIME!!" She screamed, pushing me away with her tiny hand. She released her ire by kicking my legs and walking away from there with her bag.

"There will always be next time!" Ross and I said together.
