I Saved A Mystery Billionaireac (Eudora) -
Chapter 898 Wendy Chose Derek
There might be clues, but Eudora had no concrete and compelling evidence.
"So it's all your speculation?" Derek said.
"You know better than I do, Uncle. I don't have enough evidence to prove that you and Chasel are colluding, but it doesn't mean you're innocent," Eudora said.
Eudora looked at Derek calmly, feeling that he was too hypocritical. However, she had to admit that he was composed in the face of adversity and did not show his emotions easily. This made it difficult for her to gauge his true thoughts.
"The innocent need not explain themselves. What's the point of explaining further if you don't trust me, Eudora?" Derek shrugged, shook his head, and sighed helplessly, "Wendy, I know you and Eudora are friends, and I don't want to make things difficult for you. I'll leave these people here to protect you. I'll be going now."
He smirked self-mockingly as if laughing at himself for being too sentimental.
"See? I care so much about you, but you still doubt me." That's what he was trying to show Wendy.
Derek stepped towards the door and paused in front of Wendy. His gaze unconsciously fell on her belly before he said, "Take care of yourself. Don't worry. I won't let Anthony find you."
Finishing his words, Derek withdrew his gaze and left without hesitation or reluctance.
Eudora saw that and took a look at Wendy, who was anxious. She shook her head slightly.
She knew what she had said to Wendy earlier was all in vain.
Derek was so skilled at manipulating others. He was a good "actor," perfectly portraying a disappointed man who was not trusted.
His acting skills were so excellent. It would be a loss for the entertainment industry if he didn't pursue an acting career.
This thought flashed through Eudora's mind. The next moment, she saw Wendy trot towards Derek and grab his hand. "Derek, don't go. I... I believe you."
Perhaps love could easily make people lose their way.
Wendy loved Derek. She had to choose between love and friendship. Her unborn child also held significant weight in her decision-making...
In this situation, Derek was the clear winner.
The man appeared even more lonely and desolate in the dim light of the street lamps on a cold night.
He stopped in his tracks, allowing Wendy to hold his hand, but he didn't look back.
"Chasel has done a lot of despicable things to Eudora. As her friend, I will naturally be angry and suspicious. Eudora is the victim. It is normal for her to misunderstand you. Can you please not be angry?" Wendy stood behind Derek, meek and pleading. She looked nothing like the arrogant girl that Eudora had seen when they met for the first time.
