His Unwanted Wife Again
Chapter Twelve

Unedited..........

Black hair, bright blue eyes, a cute little nose, and a sparkling smile. Jasmine Lydia Reed was born at 8:05 pm, on a Tuesday night, weighing 7 pounds 2oz. It took all Sabrina's strength, and 8 hours to bring the pride and joy, that she now held in her arms into the world.

She gently rocked her daughter as she peeked through the curtains of her hospital room window. Paparazzi had been patiently waiting for her.

They know she was at the hospital but, had no clue as to what the sex is, or even if she's had the baby yet. What they were really waiting for, was for was a man to claim paternal rights to Jasmine. She was even hoping Jasmine's father would show up.

Although Nathan didn't believe that Jasmine was his. She asked Mariel to call him and notify him that his child was going to be born but she couldn't get to him and opted to leave a message.

Sabrina had to try for her daughter's sake. It was unlike anything else looking down at her healthy beautiful baby girl. She wanted to give her the world and the best of the best. Father and mother being number one in that category. Nathan never showed. She was disappointed but wasn't going to let it destroy the happiness she felt. Jasmine was going to have a great life, and she was going to make sure of it.

The mansion sold quickly. She was officially a millionaire. Well, jasmine was a millionaire. She took the money and put most of it in a trust for jasmine, and the rest she wanted to open a daycare with. She had to provide for her daughter. It wasn't going be to like any other daycare. She had lots of plans and ideas. Even a potential location. Her mom was going to try and get a set Schedule so that she can take care of jasmine and even Gracie as agreed to babysit while Sabrina tries to fix a great life for them. She wasn't going to look back at the past anymore. Her feelings, her needs, and her wants, no longer came first.

"We're ready." Her nurse Julie, was waiting with a wheelchair in front of the door. "We're going to sneak you out of a back entrance used by the cafeteria staff." She smiles and extends her arms to take Jasmine and places her in her car seat. Sabrina puts on a large black hoodie sweater to hide her face, and slowly sits down.

The nurse helps her get settled into a taxi and headed to her mother's house. She needed her mother right now. Mariel and Gracie left earlier, to put the final touches to their home for Jasmine. Also, to distract, and confuse the paparazzi. Luckily everything went smoothly. Not one flash from a camera.

When she arrived she texted her sister to help her with the baby and her bags.

Gracie opens the car door that Jasmine was near, and pulls her out first. "Hi, sweet face." She greets her in baby talk.

Sabrina pays the driver and hurries into the house, not wanting to be seen.

Nathan's lawyer was sitting on the living room sofa when she enters. He stands and extends his arms. "Miss Reed." For a moment she was paralyzed.

"I wanted to tell you, I just think it would be smart to have a conversation outside." Gracie whispers.

"Take Jasmine upstairs to mom please." Sabrina doesn't glance at her

Gracie obeys.

Frank pulls his unshaken hand away. "I know this is not a good time, however, I think this is a situation where we should take every precaution, and time shouldn't be wasted." He dropped his hand and picked up his briefcase. "Please, sit," Sabrina suggests as she sits on the other sofa.

He smiles slightly and sits.

"Why are you here?" She asks

"I came for a DNA sample from the baby." He opens his briefcase and pulls out a plastic kit. "What is the sex?" His eyebrows join.

With her arms folded she stares at the floor for longer than a moment. "It's a girl." She continues to gaze.

"Congratulations."

"Did Nathan send you?" She finally shifts her eyes to his.

He shakes his head. "He warned me a little while back that this may become a situation. I came here on my own to get a DNA sample from the baby to eliminate Nathan as a possible father. He has assured me that he is not, but before this goes public in a nasty way, I have to take care of it.

Sabrina bows her head.

"I'm sorry if I upset you, Miss Reed, I do not believe you to be that kind of person-"

"It's your job to cover Nathan's ass. I understand." She didn't need an explanation.

"Yes." He nods.

It used it to be his job to cover her ass too. Now she was the enemy. The psycho ex-wife claiming to be impregnated by him.

"Are you willing to give me a DNA sample?" He questions.

She hadn't realized that she zoned out and was staring at the floor. She blinks and nods her head. She didn't have to think about it. She knew what the right thing to do was. To do right by her daughter was not to hinder a relationship with her father. She just hoped that Nathan would look at her as a blessing and not a curse. She hoped he would want her and shower her with love. But the truth was she no longer knew him. He might want nothing to do with either of them. She brings Jasmine downstairs and lets the lawyer do a cheek swab.

"We'll be in touch." He looks back as she closes the front door.

She wondered. What is going to happen now?

Well, what happened was four days later, while she was watching daytime television and breastfeeding, the doorbell of her tiny apartment rang.

She put Jasmine over her shoulder and peeped through the hole. It was none other than, Jasmine's father.

She grabs hold of the doorknob, closes her eyes, and takes a deep breath. She needed to be prepared for anything.

When she swings the door, and their eyes meet, they are both speechless. What should she say? What was he going to say? The moments felt like hours. Suddenly, Jasmine burps, A loud burp.

Sabrina giggles and the corners of Nathan's eyes crinkled. Their sweet daughter broke the ice.

"Come in." She gestures for him to enter.

He hesitates at first but stalks in. It was almost awkward, the quietness between them.

"Sit.".

He nods and sits with his elbows on his thighs. He kept his head low avoiding eye contact.

"I'll be right back. I'm going to put her in her crib."

He finally looks up. "May I hold her?"

Her eyebrow lift in surprise. "Of course." She places a sleeping Jasmine in his arms.

He secured her so cautiously, and was transfixed on her so lovingly.

Sabrina had no idea how much relief she would feel to know that Nathan accepted her. He watched her with love. Maybe it was a stupid thing to think he would do anything else. But she didn't know him anymore, she realized she really didn't. Not anymore.

"What is her name?" He asks.

"Jasmine Lydia." She bites her lips. "Do you like it?" When she picked out the name she thought of him. She hoped that he would like her choice.

"It's beautiful." He stands, his eyes unmoving from his daughter. "She's beautiful, she looks like you." He narrows his eyes on her and holds onto it for longer than a moment.

"Here." He gives her Jasmine. "Take her to her crib. We have some things to discuss.

She nods obediently and takes Jasmine to bed. When she returns, he's waiting for her just the way she left him, with hands in his pockets, and his eyes were searching the room until she entered. "Nice place."

"It's cozy." She shrugs.

"I'm sorry you had to go through all of this alone." He pulls a hand out of his pockets and runs it through his hair.

"I wasn't alone."

"I'm sorry I didn't at least give you the benefit of the doubt." He locks eyes with her.

"I would never lie about something like that."

"I had to be sure."

The room grew quiet. Both of their eyes roaming everywhere but to each other.

"You look...good." He comments after some time.

"Thanks." He was so lying. She wore sweats and a t-shirt, had her hair in a messy bun, and smelled of baby vomit. Not to mention the dark circles around her eyes, because of the early hour bottle feedings. "You do too." That was at least true. Always sharp.

He nods, then gets right to the point. "We have to be civil for Jasmine.

Sabrina nods. "I understand."

Nathan nods. "Our living situation, this is not going to work, me having to fly here, or vice versa."

She hadn't thought about that. "I will never stop you from having a relationship with your daughter, but I don't know what to do about that."

"Move back to Brentwood." He states simply.

"I will set you both up with everything you need."

"I..." She had so many plans. A new life she just about to start. She needed her mother. She didn't want her child with a Nannie. She has seen too many crazy stories about Nannies.

But those things didn't matter anymore. What's best for jasmine is what matters now.

Before she could speak, she realized he was speaking to her. "Or we can do it the hard way, the way I know you love best, and go to the courts."

"You would try and take my child from me?"

He raises an eyebrow. "No. But if I can't reason with you, I would have no choice but to let the courts make our decisions for us."

She shakes her head. She shouldn't expect him to think anything different that she would put up her best fight. "No, I agree with you." She would just have to make a new life in Brentwood.

He squints. It was unexpectedly her

Sabrina's mind was already drifting to how she was going to make this move to Brentwood, and what she would do after.

"Do you want to look at any of the places or should I just pick something out." He asks.

"Oh, about that. I don't need you to get us a place. I have money." She bows her head. "I sold the house."

"Don't look so guilty, it's just a house. He crosses his arms. "I want Jasmine to be close, and the price of that house can't pay for half of a condo in my building. Look, the only way you can afford to live in Brentwood is if I help you, so don't be stubborn about this. This isn't for you... it's for my daughter."

"I understand." She voices, begging him to stop. She wasn't going to fight him. She was done fighting him. "It's what's best for Jasmine." She states

He furrows his brows, obviously waiting for the but. When none came, he seemed to be searching the room for something to say. "I should go. I'll come back to see her." He begins to go towards the door to let himself out. "Wait." She moves in front of him and plays with her fingers nervously. "I just want to say that, I'm really sorry, for everything I shouldn't have left your side that day."

Are you apologizing for cheating on as well?

"Absolutely Not." She put her hands on her hips. I'm apologizing for things I've actually done."

He huffs a small laugh. "When are you going to give it up? Admit it." He demands."

"I have never cheated on you." She states clearly.

You expect me to believe that you had no idea you were in every tabloid? How can you expect anyone to believe that? You didn't call, and didn't answer when I called. You show up at my office like I would be fooled by ignorance again." "I truly didn't." She had no idea what else to say. Her hands fall from her waist.

He shakes his head. "How can you explain not calling me? Why wouldn't you tell me the second it happened?"

"I don't know, I was mostly still angry, and I didn't want you to kill Judd and go to jail."

"I called you. Your phone went to voicemail."

"I was angry. I turned it off."

"The picture?"

"He caught me by surprise." She replies.

He studies her. The look in his eyes changed.

"You realize how crazy this sounds?"

"Nathan you can't tell me that I did something that I didn't."

"Okay, you have a point."

His eyes leave her face and slowly travels her body.

She took a sharp intake of breath. She suddenly felt like he touched her.

He smiled, rejoicing in the fact that he could still affect her. "I'll tell you what, you admit it to me, and I will give this marriage a second chance."

Did he really just say that? "You're not serious..."

"I am... I can forgive you, but I can't trust you if you're not honest with me."

"I." She mumbles.

"Think, before you speak Sabrina, because your next move decides not only our lives, but Jasmine's too." He warns as he sticks his hands in his pockets.

She closed her mouth. She wanted to fight him. She wanted to yell. How could he believe the tabloids over her?

Maybe he was testing her. Maybe he wanted to see if she would take the opportunity to be with him. Or maybe he wants her to deny it some more just to prove how stubborn she is. All she knew was that she had a chance to be with him again. "What changed?" She had to ask.

"Jasmine is worth giving us a second chance." He admits bluntly." "If, I am capable of trusting you again. If you speak the truth. It will be a start."

She bows her head unable to look at him.

He clears his throat. "Listen, I know I'm at fault too. I fought with you when I should have had more patience, and I took away sex." He clears his throat again. "Admit it to me." He pleads. "Tell me that you were in an unstable mindset. Tell me that you wanted a baby, and not him."

A baby? With Judd? Was he out of his mind? She wanted to shout, but she was afraid to say another word without giving him an answer. She really did have to think of her next words carefully. She was actually contemplating on whether or not to lie on herself.

"Tell me that, you're the Sabrina you were before Auden's death. If you were that Sabrina you would speak the truth." He keeps pressuring her.

He's right, that Sabrina would speak the truth she would be stubborn but she wasn't that Sabrina anymore. A lot of things changed her... A few days of motherhood especially.

She grew as a person, and learned that stubbornness only cost you pain and suffering. She wanted to be happy again. Maybe she could even try to somehow get proof of her innocence. Pretty crazy she knew, but it was all worth it to give Jasmine a complete family.

"Say something." He pulls her away from her trance-like stare at the floor. "You have one chance to answer me or I will never be able to trust you enough for another."

"Would you really give our marriage a second chance?"

"Yes."He responds shortly.

The Nathan she knew wouldn't say things he didn't mean. If he would really take her back she would run back into his arms.

"I." She mumbles "I...I." This was going to be a lot harder than she thought.

"I need for you to be honest with me, or there is no marriage. We can't be together if I don't trust you." He continues to add.

She felt like she was in an interrogation room and Nathan was the cop pleading with her to confess her crime, and he makes so much sense she wanted to admit to it. Maybe it was the hormones.

"I did it." She voices.

Remember guys what she's been through...
