Her Forever
Chapter 84

Bastian and Olivia

“Tesoro?” I whispered close to her lips.

“Yes?” she let out a whispered m**n.

“Can I k**s you?”

Without answering me she stood up a bit on her toes and met me halfway as we shared our first k**s.

End Flashback

Bastian’s POV

There was a skip in my step as I headed home. Not physically, but in my heart mostly. Olivia had let me k**s her, I had gotten my second chance at a mate, and even though my previous mate died before I even touched her or looked into her eyes, I had really felt stronger to Olivia. She was sweet, kind, and heartwarming.

I could still feel the warmth from her fingertips when she brushed them against my face. The way we studied each other and looked into each other’s eyes, I had been dreaming about this for centuries. I was courting her as I said, but the bond was already strong, and she didn’t seem to mind. With her mother being mated to a vampire, I’m hoping it helps open her up more. I know she is still vulnerable with her mother being gone away from her. Maybe she could speak with her over the phone about how a bond actually works.

Walking up to the coven house, lost in my own thoughts, I didn’t realize I was being followed. The moon was high in the sky, and the brief shadow behind me moved, and I ducked at the swing that I heard. Turning around swiftly, I saw Jared with a baseball bat.

Looking at him, dumbfounded, his eyes were glazed over, and red, and the smell of alcohol was pungent. It was almost sickening. My thoughts of my beloved had clouded my mind because I never smelled him coming.

“Stay away from Olivia, bloodsucker,” he spat. “She’s mine,” I growled at the threat.

This was going to be a sloppy fight, he was drunk and I was still on my endorphin high from my mate for letting us have our first k**s. Hell, this will be the easiest fight of my life though. Jared swung the bat, trying to hit my head, but missed. Chuckling darkly, I grabbed the old bat, and it splintered in my hands as I squeezed it. Jared looked in horror, and I pushed him back on the cement. Walking toward him, hearing my shoes click across the pavement, I knelt down to his level. Tilting my head to the right, I gave a smile. “Do you really think you could beat a vampire with a bat?” I chuckled darkly. While in his drunken stupor, I smelled something else. Looking down at his pants, I saw that he had pissed himself.

“I’ll go easy on you this time since you’re drunk, but if I see you try to speak to her, talk to her, come within 20 feet of her, I will suck you dry. I don’t follow this coven’s rules, b***d bag.” Standing up, I walked away from him and headed back into the coven house.

Heading back to my room, I started to stir my thoughts—a mile a minute, I was churning, trying to figure out what to do.

Changing my clothes and grabbing a new battery for my cell phone so I could do a bit of research, I headed back out into the night back to the community house. Olivia’s room was on the 2nd floor, and vine fencing trailed up. With just a few leaps up the ladder I was able to sit on the window sill of her room. She was sleeping peacefully. Her hair was strewn across the pillow, one hand near her face resting on the pillow, and her mouth was slightly parted.

Tugging on the window, I noticed it was open, so I slipped inside and closed it. Sitting in the furthest chair in the room, I sat in the corner and started scrolling my phone. I had to either find us a place to live or, if she wanted, a place to live on her own. The thought tore at me, but I had no other choice. I couldn’t force her to live with me, I couldn’t take her freedom, could I? Most supernatural beasts did that back at home, but it was expected. She wouldn’t expect it. Pulling my face down with my hand in frustration, I heard the covers rustling over her body.

“Bastian?” her angelic voice called to me.

Oh, s**t.

“Bastian? Is something wrong? Why are you here?” The voice was of concern and not of fright.

“I’m so sorry, I know this is an invasion of privacy…” Olivia got up and put on her robe near the chair by the bed. Quickly she padded over to me and knelt down, and looked up with me.

I knew I was in for it with the serious face she gave me. “Yes, it is. You can’t pull an Edward Cullen, Twilight crap on me. That shoots red flags all over the place, but I think I do know why you did.” I raised my eyebrow in question as I stood up and held my hand out to her to stand with me.

“Jared came by my room…” That was all it took, rage-filled me. The prick came and tried to take my mate away from me in just the few minutes I was gone.

Olivia’s eyes softened as she closed the gap between us. “Answer me this, Bastian.” The soothing words made me purr in my chest. I didn’t even hide it. Closing my eyes, I relished in her presence.

“Are you… am I? I don’t know how to ask this.” Looking down, fiddling with her fingers, I pulled her to me by her waist. “I… I uh.” Leaning down, I put my lips to the side of her ear, barely touching them.

“Ask me,” I breathed, “ask me what I am to you.” Her light gasp made it hard to think what noises she would make once I could make her mine.

“Am I your beloved?” Both of her hands were on my shoulders, and my lips trailed down her ear and to the crook of her neck. Breathing in deeply at the area I would mark her gave us both shivers. I heard her swallow a few times and grip my shirt.

“I am.” Letting out a sigh, she pulled back and looked into my eyes. They were still red but not from anger, but from possession. I wanted her, and I wanted her now. Playing my cards right it could hopefully be soon.

I was about to speak again until she jumped up and squeezed her legs around my h**s, and smashed her lips into mine. I stumbled a bit and sat on the bed, taken aback by the aggressiveness. Our mouths were more hungry and hard. I held her tightly, and we both ran our hands through each other’s hair. Pulling back so she could breathe, she sighed. “I have been upset since you left, and I couldn’t understand why. I called to talk to my mother, but Eli, her beloved picked up because my mother was busy. I explained how I was feeling, and thank goodness he said we were more than likely beloveds. I just have so many feelings running through me I can’t explain, I crave you, and I’ve never craved anyone before.”

Smiling at her, I kissed her gently on the lips. “Yes, you are mine, and I am yours.” Touching her cheeks with the palm of my hand, she leaned into it. “I’m so glad I finally found you.”

“Me too.”

We both talked through the night, what it means to be a beloved, her feelings towards me, and our bond. Come to find out, she finds the purr in my throat to be relaxing and soothing and gives her tingles to her toes. I’m hoping it gives off tingles elsewhere. We held each other, talked about our future and what she wanted to do. I spoke of my home in Bergarian, where there were magical creatures from fairy tales that now lived there.

Olivia was so excited that she wanted to go, to live in a place like that. I honestly preferred it. Humans don’t understand living with my mate or other’s mates alone. Kissing her neck repeatedly I agreed. We would move to Bergarian, and she would be turned when she was ready.

As far as mating goes, she wanted to go slow.

“Bastian?” Olivia yawned like a small kitten. I hummed into her hair while kissing her head.

“I think I’m really falling for you, even if it has only been 24 hours. Sounds crazy, right?”

“No, not at all. Not when the Goddess pairs us together, and you know what?” She hummed in reply. The goddess knew how much I wanted this, to have a mate fall in love with me quickly. To care for me as much as care about them. Olivia’s heart was so open my own heart lurched in happiness to hear her want to love me. With a big sigh and a large toothy grin, I also tell her too.

“I know I love you.”
