Her Forever -
Chapter 32
Sadie
The dark, brooding man made his way into the bedroom. His slow and wide gaping steps walked towards the fireplace as he rested his elbow upon the mantel, only showing how tall he really was. I sat in the bed, waiting to hear something else from him, but he was silent.
The King stared at me like I was an important piece of a puzzle he was trying to figure out. His head tilted, and a small smirk came upon his face.
“I can see why she chose you.” He stated. Drago began walking closer to the bed. All the while, I tried to move my body closer to the headboard. All attempts would be proven useless until the back of my head reached it. “You’re so small, innocent, and helpless, something that she would want for a beast of a wolf.”
I scowled at his way as he prolonged the world ‘helpless’ on his lips. Who does this guy think he is? Everything is done by physical fitness, I suppose? If I am not strong physically, am no longer strong emotionally or spiritually?
“Oh, so you dislike the word, helpless? Interesting, because that is what you are right now. Helpless. You are under my care now, and they’re really isn’t anything you can do about it.” He chuckled.
“What is the purpose of me being here?” I crossed my arms and spoke with the most confidence I could have at the moment.
“It is simple, really. I was originally going to ruin a werewolf kingdom, but found you more appetizing instead.” Drago came by the bed and sat next to me while pouring a glass of water. “Here, drink this; you’ve been out for 3 days. Humans don’t do well without proper care. You are quite helpless like that.”
I rolled my eyes internally.
Suddenly, I realized just how parched I really was. I took the glass and felt the dampness reach my lips as I drank the glass down, all while staring down the vampire. I would not show fear. Seth never did. In my heart, I knew I could very well die, but I would not be helpless like he said.
“Feisty,” he whispered. “I’m glad I kept you. You will keep me entertained as well as fulfill what I have wanted from the moment I laid eyes on you.” I scowled at his words.
“Keep me? You don’t own me! I want to leave, and I will leave!” I pushed the covers off my body and tried to escape to the other side of the bed, only to feel a hard tug on my arm. Drago quickly slammed me down onto the mattress and hovered over my body.
All the confidence wavered as he caged me in his embrace. My heart clenched, realizing the position we were in.
“Do not test me, Little Dove. You are going to listen, and you are going to listen well.” His grip tightened on my arm, and I let out a small whimper as I glanced at his claws piercing my skin. “You are now mine, and you will soon be my beloved. Once the witch arrives to relieve you of my original compulsion, then you will receive a new one. One that will make you want to bond with me. Then I will take you by piercing you here.” Drago took his finger and traced my neck. “Both mentally and physically,” he chuckled darkly. “I’ve waited two decades to have you grow into the beautiful woman you are, and now you’re officially mine.”
“Wait, what? You have been stalking me?” I questioned.
“Those lovely roses weren’t for nothing, Little Dove. It’s a tradition that vampires leave a small gift for their chosen intended. I didn’t need some other vampire claiming what was mine, now did I?”
“You can have anyone!” I pleaded. “I’m not that special. Just find someone else!” I cried. How weak I’ve become! I’m desperate and alone, and I know I cannot overpower such a creature. Maybe I really was helpless.
“No, no.” Drago took his claw on his index finger and trailed the right side of my cheek. “No, I have chosen. A gift such as yourself is a prize to be won. You, being an heir to the werewolf throne, is just the cherry on top of my sundae.” Drago laughed.
“W-what? I’m human, and I’m not a werewolf! What throne?!” My head started to hurt again, and I knew I was taking on too much information about my past. My breathing picked up, and my heart raced. Beads of sweat glided down my face.
“That’s enough for now. I don’t need you to have an aneurysm.” He pushed down my arm again, and his claws went a bit deeper into my skin. I flinched as he stood up from the bed. He licked his fingers from the b***d that had dripped down my forearm.
“Your b***d is rather sweet.” His lips made a sickening sound after sucking each of his fingers. Like a lollipop being pulled from a young child’s mouth. “Bonded vampires feed off of one another, you know.” He turned to the door, still licking his hand. Taking you every night and feeding off of you will be the greatest pleasure of my existence.”
I let go of a sob as I held my hands to my mouth. “Oh, don’t worry, Little Dove. You will care for me the same. Once we are bonded, you will forget all about Seth. You will only have feelings for me, and I will take care of you and treat you like the queen you will be. It’s best you get yourself in that mindset now.” Drago opened the door and looked at me one more time before shutting the door with an evil grin plastered on his face.

It had been another two days that had passed before I finally got out of bed. I refused all the food that was sent to my room and barely drank a thing. When I drank, I would go to the bathroom connected to my bedroom and drink from the faucet. I wasn’t sure if they were poisoning anything that had ben brought me.
If anyone told me months ago, this would have been my life, to be thrown in the lion’s den of the supernatural world, I would have laughed. I was a boring child growing up. Reading romance novels and fairy tales and happy endings. Right now, it really looked like I would never have my happy ending, my ever after.
He has the wrong girl. I was not royalty. This was all just a big mistake, and once he realizes it, he must let me go. The headaches, the nose bleeds were all just coming to find out about werewolves and nothing more.
The days I sulked, I just stared at the ceiling. There were a few times a woman came into my room. Her hair was white as snow, as well as her eyelashes. Her eyes were as red as a ruby and nails to match. She would check on me three times a day to bring food in and out. I learned her name was Diana, and she worked as an assistant under the king.
“You must eat sometime, Sadie.” She said in an angelic voice.
“I don’t know if it is poisoned or laced with magic to make me do things I don’t want to do, so no, I will not eat it.” I snapped. She was taken aback since I had been relatively nice to her.
“I’m sorry, Diana, I just don’t want to be here. I miss my true mate, and I am nothing but a helpless human who can’t do anything.” My voice cracked.
“Any girl would want to be in your shoes, to be a bride to the vampire king. He’s handsome, and girls throw themselves at him all the time. Why don’t you just give him a chance? He isn’t as bad as he seems.” She whispered, with fear in her eyes.
“He stole me from my mate, made my arm bleed, and literally gives me headaches. I’ll pass.” Rolling over onto the covers, I buried my face into the pillow. I missed Seth. He would come for me, wouldn’t he??
“I’m sorry, Sadie. He will make you forget, and then you will love him. All this will be silly then,” she said sadly, I am truly sorry. Diana lifted the tray and put it on the bedside table. “You are to attend dinner tonight with him and every meal after. He’s worried about you not eating.” I blew air through my nose harshly.
“Yeah, because I am, ‘helpless.’” I sighed.
“Please dress yourself appropriately. There is a dress in the closet, shoes and makeup in the bathroom. You don’t want him finding dark circles under your eyes, otherwise he will compel you to sleep.”
Diana left the room and left me to my thoughts. I guess showering would be a good thing to do, and I probably reek of dirty vamp.
I walked barefoot across the room and took a shower, a long one. The hot water relaxed my muscles instantly, and I felt better physically. The growls from my stomach appeared while I rubbed my thinning body absentmindedly..
Feeling sorry for myself would not help this situation. I’m sure Seth and the pack were looking for me. It isn’t like he would give up. He told me he cared for me, heck he loved me, and we were ready to be mated and go back to his home pack. Everyone said he had never smiled the way he did when he was with me. He wasn’t dangerous and foreboding like in the past.
I turned off the shower and dried my hair and slightly straightened it. I put on a little make-up to hide the dark circles under my eyes. A bit of my favorite cat-eye look and mascara to hide the puffiness. He even knew all my favorite brands, the freak.
I’m hoping getting dressed and to look halfway decent, and he will listen to me rationally and let me go. I was no lost princess, and I was not royalty. My parents are unknown, but Aunt Maria was all I had until I find some hard evidence besides a dream and a crazy vampire.
I sighed frustratedly. Seth was in my dream several times, and it came true. I growled out in frustration. Could it all be connected?
Walking to the closet, I see clothes upon clothes, and I’m sure they were from past mistresses he’s had. As I glance through the racks, I see tags on all the clothes, and they were all brand new.
Tilting my head, I tried to figure out what to wear to dinner. I decided on a dress since that was my favorite thing to wear. I found an olive green fitted dress that hugged my waist and flared at the bottom. A perfect little swing dress that covered the places I wanted covered. Especially around the neck area. I found a pair of gold flats and put them on.
Having finished an hour early, I looked out the window. We were still in the forest somewhere, and I was only on the third floor. It didn’t look like a castle, just a large mansion in the middle of a wooded lot. There were guards walking in the gardens and a few laughing and joking about.
Bars still covered the windows, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to squeeze through, let alone climb down. As I continued to look outside, the moon was full and glowed brightly. I wonder if the moon gives werewolves special powers, as they say in storybooks? Does it really do anything for them?
Does the Moon Goddess know I am even here? I wonder if that is who King Drago was talking about, meaning “why she chose me” to be Seth’s mate. If only I could talk to her and ask what to do, but I’m only human. She can’t help me, can she?
There was a knock at the door, and Diana walked in. “Good, you are dressed. I was worried,” she sighed. “You even smell better, too. Come along now.” Diana motioned me to follow her. With great reluctance, I did.
If I was going to get out of this mess, maybe cooperating to a certain extent might help. Gain their trust and then run? Could I really outrun a vampire?
Going to go with no.
I’m going to have to outsmart him.
My suspicions were confirmed that we were not in a castle, but in a large mansion. It almost reminded me of the pack house except for the warm rustic feel; it was cold and luxurious. There were no rugs or fireplaces, just cold marble with hard lines. Black and white embodied the dining room that had a large table of food with the one man I didn’t want to speak with, King Drago.
Diana pulled the chair out for me that was beside Drago, who was at the head. His eyes stayed on me as I avoided his gaze. Diana pushed my chair in as I stared at my played.
“You haven’t been eating, Little Dove.” Drago’s voice was low and actually sounded upset.
“I’ve not been hungry,” I said calmly, still looking at my plate. Drago took his finger and put it under my chin, and had me look at him. I kept my gaze impassive as he touched me.
“You will get sick. I cannot have my future bride sickly, or you won’t do well with the change.” He breathed.
“Since when do you care? You ripped my arms to shred a few days ago, and now you care about my health?”
“I was hungry, Dove. It was regrettable that I did such a thing to you. I had used a lot of my energy and power to get you here, and I was still recovering.” He took his hand down from my chin. “I will be sure not to let it happen again.”
He gets weakened after using a lot of his energy. Interesting and noted.
Several servants came in and set a plate in front of both me and Drago. It was steak, twice-baked mashed potatoes with asparagus. It was my favorite meal when I lived with Maria.
“So you really watched me all these years?” I questioned.
“I did.”
“Why? What inspired this?” My hand waved between the two of us.
Drago sighed and put his fork and knife down. He brought his hands to his mouth. “If you eat, I’ll tell you.”
“Fine.”
