Willa’s POV

Luke and I continued to talk through the afternoon. He was really interested in learning more about Earth, so I told him how different it was from the land here. ‘Boring,’ is all he said as he continued to pelt rocks to near by trees. The only good thing about Earth was the music and video games he said, seemingly even the boys here had their horrible hobbies. Bergarian actually received a lot of imports from Earth, they just pick and choose between what vices they want.

“You should come visit,” Luke said as I started to put my dress back on. “It would be way easier to show you than tell you about it. Atlantis has far too many wonders it to describe with words.” My mouth fell agape as he spoke of Atlantis. “You mean, Atlantis is real?” I gasped.

“Of course, it is, why, do people of Earth talk about it?”

“Yes, but they think it is a lost city that sunk into the ocean.”

“No, it was never sunk it has always been in water. A few sailors were brought there when they accidently found a portal when they were tossed into the sea during a storm. They were healed and put back in their rightful place. That was a time when we didn’t want humans around the Bergarian world. I guess they couldn’t keep their big mouths shut.” I nodded my head in understanding. Crazy to think that all the fairy tales of Earth was just in a portal next door.

“I can’t visit, Orion could come for me at any time,” I said matter-of-factly. Luke scoffed and walked out of the water. His fin had disappeared and a small cloth hung at his h**s covering his nakedness. The scales on his body were sucked back into his body and his gills flatted next to his neck to hide.

“You don’t seem like a woman that waits on a man.” I perked my head up.

“I-I don’t.”

“Then you should come with me, tomorrow. I’ll take you to my friend Calista, she’s part witch, maybe she can help us figure out why I can feel your presence near water.” Looking over at Horus for disagreement but he just nodded a quick yes. I’m putting my faith in a dragon, then again Orion trusts him.

“Fine,” I deadpanned. “What do I need to bring?”

“Wear some light clothing, I’ll be sure you have everything you need when we arrive. It’s a bit of a swim,” he smirked. Before I could object, Luke jumped back in the water and with a flick of his tail goodbye I gave out a loud g***n.

“What am I in for, Horus?” Horus huffed and stood up, ready to head back to the cabin.

Once back, I made myself a large meal since I had skipped breakfast and lunch. There were a few ingredients in the bag to make a sandwich, I’m sure it was all enchanted to keep it from going bad because the tomatoes and cheese looked fresh. I’ll never get over how this world is so different from Earth. It seems so long ago that I was there and knowing it isn’t home anymore makes it all surreal.

After a long bath and bathing myself in vanilla body lotion I put on a large tunic over my body. I knew it had to be Orion’s because it smelled just like him. My heart ached remembering he is off fighting and I’m stuck here without him. It was unfair, I couldn’t imagine being mated to him and having to be away. Violet said the bond won’t let you be with out the other for too long or you start to get physically sick.

Bundling myself up in hordes of blankets, I made my little nest and tried to sleep but the thoughts of tomorrow’s adventure had plagued me. How was I going to hold my breath to get down to Atlantis and what would this Calista girl tell me? I haven’t felt anything towards Luke other than something friendly and a bit of trust. Which I shouldn’t, I should heed Orion’s warning, but Luke’s arguments were just. He could have been painted in a different light just like Orion was.

I growled out in frustration while Horus looked in my window with his eye. “I’m fine, I’m mentally frustrated!” I shouted. His body came closer as his head laid by my window. For a magical dragon, I haven’t seen many magical things come from him but his ability to feel emotions was uncanny.

My yes began to flutter, faster and faster I felt like I was falling asleep with out even trying and darkness evaded my senses only to have a bright light shine above me.

The sun was so bright I couldn’t see the figure’s face that was right in front of mine. The ground below me was still soft like the sheets I fell asleep on, but I knew I was outside. Using my hand to obstruct the bright light I see none other than my mate. His long hair was blowing in the wind, his tunic was off his body and a smile to greet me. This was going to be an amazing dream.

I reached for his neck and held him close as I let a small sob fall from my lips. “I wish this wasn’t a dream,” I cried. “I’d tell you how sorry I am for acting like such a brat, I’m so sorry Orion, so sorry!” I continued to breathe deep as his arms came around me and pulled me to his chest. He was holding me like you would a baby and kept my head in the crook of his neck. “So sorry,” I whispered as I held onto his arm that was stroking my cheek.

“I was never mad at you, Darling.” Orion’s voice was deep as I felt it through his chest. His linen pants tickled my bare thighs as they blew through the light wind. We were on the bed but in an open meadow just like the one he took me to back in the Warrior Pack territory. “I wish you were here,” I kissed his neck.

“But I am here, Darling. I’ve come to you in your dreams.” I looked up at him confused. “Doesn’t this feel a bit more real than an ordinary dream?” I nodded. It was different, everything was detailed and wasn’t tunnel vision like most of my dreams. I could concentrate on more than one thing and Orion would still be in my arms.

“I told you I was a powerful fae, I don’t think you really believe me.” My eyes watered.

“You are here, right now, with me?” I asked hopefully. He laughed at my excitement.

“Yes, it is one of my gifts. I can control the weak minded or those that let me invade their mind but also those who are sleeping. I’ve only done it to my family, since you are my mate, I can do it with you too.”

“Ahhh, like sleep mind-linking but in color!” Orion threw his head back and laughed. “Exactly!”

I grabbed hold of him again and kissed his cheek. “I’m so sorry, I think I was trapped in a bad place when I had to leave.”

“I know you were. I don’t blame you one bit. It was difficult to watch you go but it had to be done. The battle is almost over and then you can come home.” I sighed in relief. “Then I can make you mine,” he spoke seductively.

Looking into his golden eyes, they grew darker. L**t was pouring off his body and my body tensed as his hands came down tightly on my waist. I let out a whimper and his nose traced mine.
