Her Forever
(Book 2)- Chapter 51

Rosalie

I could still feel the warmth surrounding me. Even though the bright sun from my supposed dream land had already set, the darkness did not feel all that cold. In fact, I felt extremely comfortable. Feeling myself nuzzled into a warm, familiar scent I let out a little m**n of satisfaction. It feels so familiar, where do I know that scent from? It has intensified so much that it makes my heart skip a beat. It’s musky with a hint of sandalwood and coconut. I love it, I want to bathe in it.

A low rumble of a purr goes off in my ear. Fluttering my eyes open I see nothing but a rock hard wall in my way, yet soft enough to be comfortable. It was skin, beautiful bronzed skin. Looking up through my lashes I see the love of my life staring back at me with the biggest grin on his face, the panty dropping grin that I love so much.

“Jack!” I squealed and put my arms around his neck. He chuckles and keeps his arms around me but just squeezed tighter.

“Kitten, goddess I missed you.” His nose goes to my ear and k****s it lightly. “You have no idea how worried everyone has been. You slept for four full days. Sampson wouldn’t let me have control until you started waking up.” His hold tightened and I started nuzzling into his neck, he just smelled so darn good.

“I’m sorry, I came back when the Goddess said I could come back, but why in the world do you smell so GOOD!” Taking another big sniff into his neck he started laughing and peppering me with k****s.

“Your Wolf senses must have picked up.” He cupped my face with both of his hands, “that is my smell. I’m your mate so it smells extra good to you, what do I smell like?” Jack said, full of wonder.

“Sandalwood and coconut, and you have hints of some other smells in there but those stand out the most. I just want to eat you up!” I nipped at his neck and he growled back playfully. Both of us were a laughing mess, the sheets were falling off the bed and the pillows were now scattered across the bed. There was a knock at the door but we kept tickling and laughing with each other and didn’t notice people had walked in the room. We heard someone clear their throat and both looked up.

Jack’s parents as well as a few doctors came into the room in shock. Jack only had a pair of boxers on and I was only in one of his shirts, pretty sure I wasn’t wearing any sort of undergarments because I felt a slight breeze. I froze in shock with a slight yip of a scream and Jack got in front of me to shield my nakedness. He started growing slowly and his claws and teeth started to come out. His parents and the doctors started to back away and close the door. Jack was still on edge but I put my hand on his arm. “It’s alright, they didn’t see me,” the obvious blush on my face did nothing to hide my embarrassment.

“They shouldn’t have barged in like that, that was ridiculous.” Jack pulled on some pants and a shirt and started heading to the door to open it.

“Jack, wait!” I held my hand to reach him while I was kneeling on the mattress. “I haven’t seen you, why don’t you come back?” I gave him a pout and he rolled his eyes and gave me a smile. That did it, no more crabby Jack.

“You know how to calm me down don’t you?” He hopped on the bed and pulled me to him. “How about, you go shower, get dressed and then we have the doctors come in to check on you OK?” I nodded my head yes and he picked me up bridal style to the bathroom. “I’ll be back, don’t leave our bedroom without me, alright?”

The doctors did their little routine as they had so many times before. B***d pressure, b***d tests, temperature, the whole physical. Since Jack was in control, he was doing really well. Sampson was a pain from what Astrid said, he wouldn’t let anyone near us and it was all they could do to get a temperature on me. I couldn’t help but laugh at the dinner table of all the crazy stuff he did. Jack kept rolling his eyes yelling at everyone he couldn’t control Sampson and he wasn’t sure what was going on. Sampson just over took his whole body and blocked him in the back of Sampson’s mind.

“…and then Sampson yelled at the warriors outside your door, he said he could smell their pheromones thinking about their Luna as a s*x doll!” Benjamin roared in laughter while Jack leaned his head back on the dining room chair. The dining room consisted of large rectangular tables, it was more of the common dining room and not so much as the exquisite one they have for royal guests. A lot of the pack members were there listening in on the stories of the mighty Sampson taking care of his mate.

Jack was over the stories, he gripped my thigh under the table and I put my hand on top of his. The whole pack house was in an uproar of bragging rights about the first full blooded human being turned in their pack. I got so many congratulations that I couldn’t really eat, Jack was getting agitated easily because he could hear my stomach growling. Finally, he picked me up and put me on his lap a little harshly. Scowling at him he let out a quiet ‘sorry.’

Putting some grilled chicken on a fork, Jack began to feed me like Sampson did earlier in the week. I didn’t hesitate, it just came naturally and I gave him a nod of how good it was. “So what was it like, Kitten? Meeting the Moon Goddess?” I finished chewing my chicken and pondered for a minute as I swallowed.

“She was, so down to Earth, or down to Bergarian? I don’t know. She wasn’t intimidating at all, like a motherly figure or a really good best friend. I even got a hug.” I bragged as I bit into some garlic bread. Jack chuckled and rubbed his nose along my shoulder. He still smelled divine; it was all I could do not to sniff him.

Astrid came and sat in my seat beside Jack since it was now vacant. “Tell me, what did she say to you? Everything she says can be interpreted in so many ways, she can be hard to read sometimes,” Astrid asked.

“There were a lot of Wolves that came up to her after we talked, they only went to her because they were still shy of me. She said that those Wolves were ready to meet their own humans. I was one of the first full blooded humans to change and it wouldn’t end there. So many more humans are going to be coming here and they will gain a mate too, only the ones that are worthy.”

Everyone smiled at the table, especially some of the unmated Wolves. “Do you think that means just Wolves or other shape shifters or supernaturals beings could get a human mate?” Benjamin questioned.

“I can’t see why other supernatural beings wouldn’t get a human mate. I think it is quite plausible,” Astrid said. There was silence around our end of the table while the unmated Wolves at the other spoke excitedly. Wolves, just like humans, like to gossip and I’m sure a Bergarian will be ready to make that news spread.

“Your training will start shortly after you gain a good relationship with your Wolf. That will be a few weeks so it will happen when you are back home,” Odin spoke as he cleaned his beard from food that dribbled on it. I couldn’t get over his size, he wasn’t as tall as Jack but he was nothing but muscle. His long beard, hair and braids made him even more intimidating. His shirt sleeves looked like they were about to rip off of him and Astrid was just a dainty thing like me.

Astrid smacked her mate in the chest. “Don’t you be thinking about that. It will be a few weeks. Give her some time to get used to her other features from her Wolf,” Astrid gave him a glare and mumbled under her breath. “Damn Alphas can’t do anything but have s*x and train.” I burst out in a fit of laughter while Jack looked amused. Some of the table was looking at me but I couldn’t help but laugh hearing his own mother.

“You heard that?” Benjamin asked.

“As clear as day! Why can’t you?” I raised my voice.

“Of course I can, but humans wouldn’t be able to hear it. Looks like the hearing is starting to come in.” Benjamin gave me a smile and poked his fork into the chicken on his plate and it made a loud, “tap” sound.

“Ouch, you didn’t have to do it so hard!” I rubbed my ears.

“Do what so loud?”

I then started hearing loud clicking and clacking of plates and utensils. I stopped eating and looked around the room, people weren’t forcefully putting their forks to their plates but it sounded unbearable. Closing my eyes I shook my head and some of the sound went away. Thumping now started to invade my ears, loud thumping and heavy breathing. I peaked up at Jack who was looking at me in concern and put his hand on my back. “What’s wrong, Kitten?” He wasn’t yelling but it rang in my ears. Covering my ears I pushed the chair away from the table which was insanely loud. It was nails on a chalkboard.

Humming in my head to keep the sound out Jack seems to know the problem and whisks me away outside. My eyes were open and he was taking me deep into the forest while I held my ears shut, it wasn’t doing much to keep the sound out, but enough to where I wasn’t wincing in pain.

“Kitten?” he mind-linked. It was much softer than the noises around me, feeling like the steps of the insects around me gave me an eerie vibe.

“Why is it so loud?”

“Your senses are coming in, I’m going to help you calm it down OK?” I nodded, feeling the hair brush across my ears.

“Concentrate on one noise, listen to my voice and only my voice when I speak out loud alright?” I nodded again and he spoke softly and tenderly.

“I’m right here, with you now. Concentrate on just my voice. Block out everything else and just look at me, listen to me.” Trying to block out the sounds was difficult, I could still hear the stream that was at least 100 yards away and the stupid pixies that think this is hilarious. They keep shaking their little necklaces and chirping at one another.

“Rosalie, don’t worry about those stupid, f*****g pixies, concentrate on me.” His voice was still soft even after cursing the terrible things which made me chuckle. His smile came back and started speaking again so I could concentrate. “I love you so much, Rosalie. I’m so happy you are here with me, giving up a human life to be thrown into something more. Being an Alpha, I’m not supposed to be afraid of anything, however while you slept to accept not just me but the entire pack I found that there is one thing I am afraid of. I’m afraid of losing you, Rosalie. Don’t ever leave me because I don’t know what Sampson and I could ever do without you.” He was on his knees and his arms were around my waist. My hands slowly came off my ears. Listening to him tell me his undying love, for me, again, was the best feeling. His words helped me learn to concentrate on the one noise and soon all the other noises faded away.

Some noises were still loud but being able to concentrate on one thing at a time will help. Putting my arms on his shoulders I smiled and whispered, “thank you and I love you.”

“Soon it will be second nature. For now, we will try to keep loud noises to a minimum. Maybe we should just head to bed.” He gave me a wink and wiggled his eyebrows.

“Thinking about ravaging me in bed, Alpha?” I c****d an eyebrow. He grunted in approval and gave me a peck on the lips. The noise had settled down considerably and I was almost feeling normal. What was normal really though?

Jack stood up and tried to grab my hand but I jumped away and gave him a smile. “Rosalie,” he grunted. “What are you doing?” I gave him a little smirk and stepped back a few feet. “Kitten…” he taunted as he tried to stalk towards me. I had been reading up on just your average Wolves because Sampson was in fact, a Wolf. Reading about their behaviors and possessiveness was quite interesting and I wanted to see if this one theory was true.

“Rosalie, we need to get you back to rest.” His voice was deep, deeper than what I was used to with him and it gave me a bit of a chill that went straight to my core. Breathing deep, smelling my arousal, he growled and stalked closer.

Without a second thought, I bolted. I started running as fast as I could, I knew he would catch me but I was still going to make him work for it. I ran through the trees, each step I made on the forest moss, small little firefly lights came out and zoomed by. I started laughing at the sight, not worrying about if Jack would find me. The air felt so much cooler than it did earlier in the afternoon. Some forest sprites were flying with me and tried to tangle my hair and I just swatted them away and told them to shoo. They would come back and tell me to shoo, thinking my choice of words were funny.

I could hear the stream in the distance, the one that I had heard earlier and thought it would be a good idea to jump over it. I got closer and before I jumped I whipped my head around to see if Jack was near. The smile on my face faded when I looked back not seeing him behind me, I heard no heartbeat, his heavy breathing, concentrating as hard as I could I listened for him. Nothing.

Surely I didn’t lose him? “Jack? Jack, are you there?” Becoming worried, I looked back at the stream and back into the forest. Was I lost? Did I wander off the territory? My heart started to speed up not knowing where I was so I headed back in the same direction from where I came. The sun was setting and the fireflies were more prominent under the moons. The pixies were gone and it was completely silent. Too quiet actually. Rubbing my arms up and down to keep warm, I stopped. I could mind-link! Geez.

“Jack?” I mind-linked him.

Nothing.

“Not funny anymore!”

Nothing.

I was about to scream for help but was tackled instead, gently to the ground in a large patch of the magical moss. It was almost like a forest mattress falling into it and as I fell I saw the little fireflies fly above me as a rough calloused hand broke my fall behind my back. His warm scent engulfed me as he nuzzled into my neck.

“Gotcha.”
