Her Forever -
(Book 2)- Chapter 45
Jack
My mate stared out the window in awe as we trotted along the path that led us to the Blue Water pack where my parents now resided. Our whole family decided to move into the pack once his Alpha duties were completed to give them a bit of a retirement home feel. It was located near the ocean where the salty breeze and the waves were a constant reminder of peace and tranquility.
Ever since the rogue battle a few years ago that involved our future queen, every kingdom had been at peace, especially since the treaties of the three major kingdoms were in place. The Light Kingdom, also known as the Fae Kingdom and Vamparia that holds most of the Vampires and darker species of supernaturals will now be at complete peace for at least 500 years.
The air was much cleaner and almost sweeter here. Gasoline or any type of harmful substances were not allowed here like they were on Earth. In this land we took pride in it and made sure that for every supernatural thing it would be clean for many generations to come. Especially since most of us had immortality.
Rosalie continued to stick her head out the window and watch the wisps that were traveling come up to her. They teased her hair and tapped her nose as their blue hue danced around her face. She continued to laugh and brush them away with her hand, only for them to come in the carriage when she sat back down on my lap.
“Oh s**t, you let them in!” Benjamin g*****d to himself while he took his magazine and started swatting at them. They quickly went to Benjamin and pulled at his hair and unbuttoned his plaid button up shirt. “No, dammit stop it!” He yelled while a few of them tied his shoe strings together. Rosalie let out a loud squeal of laughter which only excited them more and they came back to her and twirled her hair. They let out a quick clicking noise and jetted out of the carriage. Once her giggles died down I noticed her hair was now curled in a beautiful half updo on her head. She couldn’t possibly become anymore beautiful but I have to say the curls certainly suited her.
“Ugh, damn whisps. Always messing s**t up.” Benjamin continued to button up his shirt and fix his hair which was now a full head of unruly curls that looked ridiculous on him. “Aw, you kind of look cute, Benjamin,” Rosalie teased.
Sampson didn’t like her calling another Wolf cute and he quickly growled and gripped her h**s tighter. Rosalie realized her mistake and looked us in the eyes. “I’m just kidding Sampson, you are the only puppy for me!” Rosalie started laughing again. Her laugh was damn contagious and if it wasn’t for the derogatory pet name she gave us I’d bask in her warm glow she had.
“Sampson not puppy,” Sampson growled at her.
“You are lucky Benjamin is in the carriage with us, or you might earn yourself a smack on the a*s,” I said lowly. Rosalie stopped giggling and had put both hands on her mouth. I gave her a smirk while she sat silently on my lap. We both heard a snort and quiet laughter coming from the other side of the carriage.
“Ha, puppy,” Benjamin whispered and I gave him a deep scowl. Sampson wanted to come out but I held him back. Before I could say anything, Rosalie spoke up.
“No, Benjamin! Only I can call him that. He might kill you if you try,” she warned. Benjamin looked back at me only for him to see Sampson’s eyes which earned a deep gulp from Benjamin’s throat.
We continued to travel for another hour until we reached the Blue Waters Pack. It had large white columns at the gates and a few warriors were just outside of the walls. When they saw us, they immediately bowed and welcomed us. “Alpha Storm, welcome. Your parents will be excited to see you!” one of the warriors spoke. At first he only saw me until Rosalie popped her head out to see what was going on. She was always a curious thing.
The warrior looked in shock at my mate, her blonde curls cascaded out of the carriage and she smiled at him. “Can we go in now?!” she said quickly. “I’m ready to stretch my legs, I’m going to get a b***d clot or something!” Benjamin started laughing and yelling at her to get back in. The warrior continued to stare at her so I let out a warning growl which snapped him out of his senses.
“My apologies Alpha, I’m terribly sorry.” The warrior bowed his head and motioned for them to open up the gates. I pulled Rosalie close to me and held her tightly and it made her squirm in my lap. Unfortunately, it caused something else to stir and she stopped moving immediately. “Sorry, Alpha, I didn’t mean to!” she whispered in my ear as she playfully bit it.
“I know you are excited, Kitten, but stay close to me. You aren’t a Wolf yet so I’m wondering if my mark isn’t emitting enough of my smell. I don’t want some damn pup getting near you.” Sampson snarled in my head thinking of someone wanting to take our mate away.
“I-I won’t leave. I don’t know this place and I’m a bit nervous anyways.” I held her close until the carriage stopped at the front gates. It was the same as I left it 20 years ago the last time I visited. My parents often visited me so I never had a reason to come back unless there was an influx of unmated she-Wolves looking for their mates. My heart always wanted me to stay near the pack and I’m glad I did.
I stepped out and held my hand out for Rosalie who was speechless looking at the 3 story mansion, it wasn’t as large as the one back home but it was still had the celestial glow as any beach home would have. Light corals, blues and whites adorned the home. Pictures of the ocean, fish, merpeople as well as shells adorned the walls. Rosalie had never been to the coast and I had every intention of taking her to the beach before her transformation. I wasn’t sure how long she would be out and didn’t want to return home until she’d seen every inch of it.
I grabbed her by the waist and put my arm around her to keep her close. Many males were staring at her but she never took notice, too busy looking at the crystal chandeliers and the marbled floors. I set glares their way, earning them to bare their necks in submission. My Rosalie was almost too beautiful.
I heard a large howl and I would recognize that anywhere. My Mother came running down the halls with all her might while in her swimsuit and sarong tightly wrapped around her h**s. “JACKIE! YOU ARE HOMEEEE!” Damn, forgot abut that stupid nickname.
“Mother,” I gave a tight lipped smile as she jumped into my arms. She didn’t look a day older than 30, she had her bright blue eyes set on me and her dirty blonde hair that I inherited from her pulled up in a high ponytail. Without skipping a beat she looked behind me where Rosalie had quickly hid. She fisted my shirt to let me know she wasn’t really too keen on the loud obnoxious noises just yet.
“And who is this lovely young lady?” Mother eyed me suspiciously. I’m sure she was wondering if it was some fling like I’d used to bring home.
“Mother,” I guided Rosalie around with my hand. “I’d like for you to meet, my mate, Rosalie.” I held Rosalie tightly to my body, knowing she was going to hear another squeal. Rosalie nuzzled her head into the side of my body and my Mother instantly picked up her shyness.
“Rosalie,” my Mother breathed breathlessly. Maybe she was in shock that I found her. “It is such a pleasure to meet you and what a beautiful name you have!”
“It’s nice to meet you too.” Rosalie held out her hand but my mother dismissed it and pulled her into a light hug. My mother’s size over towered Rosalie’s but she didn’t seem to mind, I even saw a small smile on her lips.
“My goddess you are gorgeous.” My Mother’s hands cupped Rosalie’s face while she gave her a small smile. “You have been through a lot haven’t you dear?” Rosalie was trying to hold back tears so I grabbed her from my mother and nuzzled into her neck. Mother noticed the mark. “You’ve marked her! Oh this is wonderful! But why can’t I smell your scent on her?”
“What?” I growled. “Why can’t you smell her?” I pulled Rosalie’s shirt to the side showing my mark.
“I don’t know, that is so strange. Is it because she is human? We haven’t had any human mates run in our family line before? Maybe we should get the pack doctor after she meets your father?” I nodded, still bothered by the fact no one can smell my scent or notice her mark.
I whispered in her ear as we walked to the outdoor patio of the pack house, “From now on, I want you to wear things that show my mark, I don’t know why you don’t have my smell.” Rosalie nodded in understanding.
“Why is that? Is it because I’m human or the bonds that were branded on me?”
“I’m not sure about Kitten, but we are going to find out later. Just stay close to me until we find out.”
We walked outside to see a lot of older Werewolves sitting around a fire staring at the beach. The only reason why I knew they were older was because they were mated and all knew my father when he was Alpha back in Night Crawlers.
“Odin, look who came for a surprise visit? He also brought someone special!” My Mother said in a singsong voice. My father was old, old enough for the viking times of the humans which is where his own parents got his name. They said he looked like a norse god when he was born, and that he had been the hairiest baby they had ever seen.
Father stood up and took a look at my mate, who again, was behind me fisting my shirt. I smiled and tried to guide her around my she wasn’t moving. “Who have you got there son? Better not be some whore.” That was my Father for you, blunt and to the point. Sampson’s baritone voice came forward and growled at him.
“Sampon’s mate not w***e. Watch your tongue old Wolf.” Everyone sat back in shock. Sampson had been making a lot of appearances lately and my own family didn’t see him very often. I was proud to have such a hold on him but Rosalie does things to us we just don’t understand.
My father smiled at me and embraced me in a large hug with large pats on the back. “Finally! Let me see the little doll, I’m sure she is a beaut! Took ya long enough to find her!” His beard swayed back and forth while the beads on his side braid smacked me in the face. Rosalie made a squeak sound when my father engulfed her in a large hug, picking her up and nuzzling her cheek, a common occurrence with family Wolves. Rosalie looked taken aback but I couldn’t help but laugh and feel proud my father accepted our mate so quickly.
“You are a tiny one arn’t ye?” Rosalie nodded quickly and looked at me while he put her down. Grabbing her hand I held her close. “Did ya mark her yet? I can’t smell her.”
“Honey, that is a bit much to say right now,” my Mother tried to calm him. She understood Rosalie was a timid thing.
“Astrid, I was just askin’.” He grabbed my mother and gave her a swift k**s. Ignoring my father making out with my mother I butted in.
“To answer your question, yes father, she’s marked but no one can smell her. My pack knows not to mess with her but now I’m worried that we are here.” Father rubbed his chin to think.
“Let’s take her to the pack doctor. It has been awhile since a human was a mate around these parts beside the future queen. She’s an exception though because her parents were Wolves. I’m sure they can look in them books and figure something out.” I nodded as I picked up my mate like a bride she was to the doctor.
“Jack,” she whined. “People are going to stare!”
“Here’s the thing, they are already staring at what is mine. I’m just letting them know you are mine and I’m going to rub my scent all over you so everyone knows. My mark should be doing the job but it isn’t.” Rosalie c****d her head to the side.
“Your scent?”
“Yes, Wolves can seep out their scents on their mates before they are marked and mated. I see I’m going to have to keep doing it.”
“You mean, you have been putting your scent all over me since you found out about me?” I smiled.
“You were mine from the very first time I saw you, Kitten.”
