Finding Her True Alpha
Chapter 74: Vision?

Ashlyn

The bed was empty when I woke up. I wonder where my mates are? I didn’t even get to see Derek last night before I fell asleep. His scent was strong on his side and I knew he had slept here. But where did they go?

I got out of bed to get dressed, then I went into the bathroom to throw my hair up into a messy bun. When I was satisfied, I made my way to the kitchen. Everyone was seated around the table. I walked up behind Derek, Wrapping my arms around his neck.

“I missed you last night. Where did you go?” I asked him, k!ssing his cheek.

“I ran out with Matt to get dinner and you were out by the time we got back. How are you feeling2” He asked me, pulling me around the chair so was now sitting in his lap.

“I feel better, hungry, but I’ll eat after we portal to Blue Moon,” I answered him. He was resting his head on my shoulder, breathing in my neck.

“I’ll bring some coffee to go,” Matt said, standing from his seat.

“Thank you,” I called out to him.

“Baby, Derek and I won’t be able to come with you to Blue Moon. Matt and Liam will go with you.” Mason told me, and I looked over to him. He was sitting beside Derek.

“What? Why?” I asked him, confused.

“Babygirl, we are meeting with the Elite teams today.

We have to be prepared for when Susan attacks,” Derek answered.

“Oh,” I said. I forgot they were princes, and they actually had work to do.

“But Liam and Matt are going to go with you, and Sage will open a portal for you so you don’t have to,” Mason quickly said.

“l can open a portal,” I told him.

“Baby, we know you are strong, but you need to take this slowly, okay? It’s not us doubting you, we just don’t want to see you hurt.” Mason said, and I looked over to Derek.

“And you feel the same way?” I asked him. And a quilt was written all over his face. I tried to stand up, but he wrapped his arms around me tighter.

“Babygirl, we trust you. We know you can do this. We are just asking you to slow down a bit. Okay? We aren’t asking you to stop, just to slow down. Using that much magic too quickly is affecting you,” Derek told me, and I sighed.

“Fine, but I’m not happy.” I pouted.

“We can live with that,” Mason leaned over, k!ssing my cheek.

“We’ll see how long you two can live with it,” I told them before I stood up from Derek’s lap.

“I hate you.” Derek turned to Mason.

“Are you two ready?” Liam and Matt both nodded when I asked them. I thought of the Blue Moon pack house and opened a portal. I stepped through before turning to face my mates.

“See all better now,” I told them before the portal closed behind Matt. Liam was already standing beside me. Before I could even roll my eyes, I turned around and threw up whatever was left in my stomach. Liam started rubbing my back.

When I was done, I stood up and looked at both of them.

“If either of you tells my mates, I’ll make you both explode.” I pointed at each of them.

“Yes, my Queen,” they said together. And I rolled my eyes at the title. Liam handed me a bottle of water and I rinsed my mouth out, thanking him for thinking ahead.

lan walked over to us, standing in the driveway. He looked at me with concern.

“Ashlyn, are you okay?” He asked.

“Yeah, portals just make me nauseous.” I brushed it off. And he nodded.

“Are you okay now?” lan asked, and I nodded. He came over and wrapped me in a hug.

“It’s good to see you.” He told me, pulling away.

“You too, I’ve missed you.” I smiled up at him.

“You’re here to see Grace?” lan asked, and I nodded.

“I would also like to see the person responsible,” I told him.

“Why?” He asked me, confused.

“I want to know why this happened?” I told him. We started walking over to the hospital.

“His test results all came back normal. We don’t know what happened or why he attacked Grace.” Lan explained while we walked into the hospital foyer.

“It could be magic.” I was thinking out loud.

Is he still sedated?” Liam asked, and lan nodded.

“Okay, I’d like to see him first and then I’ll go see Grace,” I told lan.

“Ashlyn, are you sure? If anything happens to you, Derek and Mason will kill us,” Matt said.

“I’m a big girl and my mates don’t scare me,” I answered him.

“At least that makes one of us,” Liam said under his breath.

“I’ll take you to see him, but we have to be in the room with you,” lan said, and I nodded.

“Alright, follow me.” lan told us. lan led us to the far side of the hospital, where I’d never been. I worked at the hospital with Grace and I’ve never had a reason to go to this side. It looks more like a prison than a hospital. lan opened up a room, and we followed him inside.

There was a monitor and a warrior watching over the patient. I was looking at the monitor at the sleeping man.

“Nothing to report Alpha.” The warrior spoke to lan, and lan nodded to the warrior. They strapped the man to a hospital bed. He had an iv in his hand, which I assume is keeping him asleep.

We left the room and headed to the door next to the one we had just exited. lan held the door for me, and I entered the room with the patient. The room smelt heavily of bleach and it burnt my nose and lungs. I walked over to the side of his bed.

“What’s his name?” I asked lan while I was looking at the sleeping man.

“He’s name is Kyle Cooper. He’s a warrior, he just turned 19.” lan told me.

“Do you know him personally?” l asked lan. I don’t remember meeting him. And we would have been in school together.

“I don’t, no. Do you recognize him?” lan asked me and I shook my head. A feeling of dread hit me as I looked down at Kyle. Liam grabbed my forearm when I tried to touch his hand. I looked over at him.

“Be careful, Ashlyn.”

“I have you three. I’ll be fine.” l told him. And he released my arm. I reached out and grabbed Kyle’s hand.

As soon as my skin touched his, the room spun. When I opened my eyes, I was no longer standing in the hospital room. There were bodies around me in the field. I could see Derek and Mason, and my heart filled with despair.

What the hell was going on? Where am I?

I ran over to them and kneeled down beside them. They were both dead, and Il could feel the tears running down my cheeks. I looked at the bodies around them and I found everyone I knew. Brandon was holding Sage. Liam, Matt, lan and Alex were all lying on the ground, covered in b***d.

I looked away from my dead mates and friends and looked around the clearing. I recognized nothing here. It was just a clearing in a forest. When did this happen?

Was this the future? Did we lose? I felt like someone had ripped my heart from my chest. I couldn’t breathe. They can’t all be dead. How did I let this happen?

A shadow moved over me from above, making me look up. It was an older woman in a deep purple flowing dress. She had dark hair and glowing purple eyes. Her hands were glowing red, and I knew she was a witch, but her magic was tainted.

“Oh, don’t cry Ashlyn, you’ll soon join your mates.” she called down to me. I didn’t have time to say anything to her before she was throwing a ball of fire in my direction. Throwing my arms up to cover my face, I closed my eyes, bracing myself for the hit, but it never came. When I opened my eyes, I was back in the hospital room with Liam, Matt, and lan.
