Ashlyn

Six Months Later

Soon after the meeting with the Wolf council, I found out that we were having another baby. Craving sweets, I knew it was going to be another boy. Sage found out a few weeks after that she was also pregnant. She, too, was pregnant with a boy, but he still hasn’t arrived yet.

She still has about five more weeks to go and is driving Brandon crazy. Pregnancy hormones really make you a little crazy.

Now, I was sitting in the library, nursing baby Donny, who’s a week old already. He has darker hair than Derek but lighter hair than Mason and Mason’s gold-brown eyes. He looks just like his older brother, who is running around, playing with their older sister. Gabby is trying to read to him, as she has found the love of reading while James is being a monster. He acts more and more like Derek each day, according to Victor, anyway.

The grandpas have been around more often to help and even Sage’s mother has been around more and I think it’s driving Sage even more crazy, which is driving Brandon crazy. Poor Nathan had to step in to help Sage with their mother. Our house has been crazy these last few months with the hybrids finding their mates and some leaving. Both Liam and Matt have claimed their mates and are both hoping to start a family soon.

Life has changed so much over the last six months. The Wolf council removed all the laws oppressing women. And I’ve been working with the dragon council to get their laws changed as well. Nathan, Jordan and Max have all helped with their councils as portaling had become difficult, the further along in my pregnancy I came. And now that Donny is here, I’ll be taking some time off.

l even had to put my training class on hold as my bump got in the way and Derek was following me around, making sure l didn’t get hurt. And Mason’s just as bad. I feel like | haven’t had a moment for myself over the last six months. I think they both forget that I have Freya and she would let nothing happen to me or our babies. They have been very over-protective, but they are getting better. I know they just want to keep me safe and I’ve been picking my battles with them. It’s sweet, but can be overbearing at times.

Gabby has also started school, and she attends the same one that Mason attended. She looks so adorable in her uniform and she has made some wonderful friends.

We made that decision because the attacks have stopped. Everyone seems to be more than happy to accept all the hybrids. There’s not very many of us, but everyone seems to accept us. It might help, since the new vampire king is mated to a hybrid, and they are doing wonderful things over there. I’ve even had to visit a few times to bless couples with a mate bond. Over the last six months, I’ve blessed over a thousand couples.

And when speaking to them, it’s always the most wonderful love stories. They had each other, and that was all that mattered to them.

It’s amazing to see how the kingdoms have come together. Mason and Derek have even started working on building units in the army with all members from the different kingdoms. Uncle Ben is going to be running the program. They have both been super busy trying to get all their work done so they can take a few weeks off to help me with Donny, but I have Gabby and she loves helping with her brothers. And I have Sage. She may be a little crazy, but she loves her niece and nephews. And Liam and Matt are still on protection duty. Their mates help out around here and they are a great help to me with the kids. Both of them are finishing up their high school education and are planning on going to college next fall.

We are all great friends and I’m happy to see Matt and Liam happy.

I pushed back the coronation because I was pregnant with Donny and wouldn’t have been able to fit in the dress that Sage had picked out for me. I was feeling nervous about the entire thing. We were also going to be doing the wolf kingdom handover to Mason and the dragon kingdom handover to Derek that day as well. It was going to be a massive party, and I was still getting the gardens around our home done. And we were still building a guest place behind our castle as well. So, this coming summer, I’ll officially be made Queen as all the kingdoms have submitted to me.

Brad and Eric took off to Europe a few months ago and, as far as I know, they are just having some fun. They called after I had Donny to make sure we were both okay. And they were both emotional about me naming him after Donny. Donny was more of an older brother to me. He taught me so much and he died protecting me. It was an honor to name our son after such a great man.

Nathan still hasn’t found his mate, but I don’t think he’s really looking for one. Sage informed me he was still a virgin and waiting for his mate, which is just the sweetest thing. Nathan and I have become super close, and he’s here whenever he has time. Sage has made it her mission to set him up but, Nathan is in no rush. And he is so wonderful with his niece and nephews. He’s going to be the perfect mate.

Ava has turned into one of the best alphas that the council has ever seen. She and lan merged the packs and renanmed the pack Blue Crystal Lake after mixing the names of their packs together. They even started building a new bigger pack house on the land that was in between their packs.

She has taken her training seriously and both the former alphas and lan have been helping her learn the ropes of being an alpha. lan and I still talk every week, but I talk with Ava daily. We have become best friends and I can’t wait to see her next week. She would have been here now, but I had asked everyone for some time with my babies before everyone visited. She also told me that she hasn’t had a heat yet, but was excited about having a baby. She is going to be a wonderful mother.

It’s amazing how a year has truly changed my life.

Two mates, three babies, and a castle. To think that a year ago, I thought I was just a wolf, hoping that lan was my mate. Now I’m a witch dragon, and soon to be the queen of all five kingdoms. Life has been one hell of a crazy ride, but I wouldn’t share my life with anyone else.

Mason, Derek, and our kids are my life, and I will always put them first. There’s no more running into danger for me.

Mason, Derek, and my relationship is also stronger than ever. We consider and talk about everything with each other. No more secrets or lies. There will always be some heated conversations because we are three different people, but at the end of the day, we work as one. One family forever.

Mason

Watching Ashlyn nursing our newborn son while our other son and daughter play always brings a smile to my face. I was watching from the library door. I was about to step inside, but I took a moment to watch my entire world. Life had finally calmed down after that first council meeting. After that, I finally felt like we were a true family. We work as a unit, discussing everything with one another. And Ashlyn hadn’t run into any danger, not that there was any. Everything seemed to fall into place.

Derek and I were finally done with all the work, and we could take some time to spend with our family.

Ashlyn has been off for the last month getting ready for our son, who she named Donny. Derek and I both loved the name for him and we both understood why she picked it. He was amini version of his brother and I’m sure he’ll grow up to be a monster, just like his older brother. James isn’t even a year old yet, but he can walk and gets into everything. Nothing is safe with him and we had to wait to get Gabby her cat because I was afraid for the cat. He’s also a bitter, so we aren’t sure if he’ll be a wolf or a dragon.

As much as he drives me crazy, I love our kids and Gabby is a little daddy’s girl. I take her to school every day and we would have our time when I picked her up before we went home. She was so smart and witty; she was going to make an excellent queen when Ashlyn stepped down.

“What are you doing?” Derek whispered, coming up behind me. I pointed to our family, and he sighed.

“Ashlyn looks even more beautiful holding our baby,” Derek said, and I nodded.

“I was thinking the same thing,” I told him.

Donny seemed to have finished eating, and Ashlyn stood up from the couch to walk around with him. She had him on her chest as she rubbed his back to get all the burps out. The fireplace was a blaze, and the flame cast an orange hue over the room. Ashlyn looked angelic as she walked around with our boy. James had finally settled down and was listening to Gabby, who was reading a story to him.

“How the hell did we get so lucky?” Derek asked me, seeing the same thing I was.

“I don’t know, but we definitely won the lottery.” I told him.

One thing I knew, watching our mate, was that she was our true alpha. She didn’t need Derek or me; she wanted us and for that I will be forever grateful. Even when we didn’t understand, she proved herself every step of the way. Ashlyn still rose and did what she had to do. She cares for her pack like a true alpha should, and she was ours. The mother of our babies, the leader, and the caregiver of our pack, our family. She is the rock holding us all together.

I moved to enter the room, but before I could, Gabby walked over to Ashlyn. Gabby looked scared as she looked up at Ashlyn.

“Momma, I feel funny.” She said, and Ashlyn sat down on the couch, pulling Gabby closer to her. I noticed Gabby’s eyes flicker, and Ashlyn let out a gasp.

“Tundra,” Ashlyn whispered.
