Encore of the Avenging Muse (Sylvia and Rupert) -
Chapter 190
Everyone was gobsmacked at the sight of Christine.
Physically, Christine was just average, definitely not on par with the well-maintained Eloise.
What was Eloise's husband thinking?
Wrapped in her coat, Christine sobbed, "Ms. Eloise, I... I was framed. It was Sylvia who called me to room 6! As soon as I entered, I felt a heat all over, then I knew nothing." The crowd immediately adopted a 'grab your popcorn' expression. Could the plot twist even more?
Eloise frowned and turned to Sylvia. "What's going on?"
Sylvia shook her head in confusion. "Ms. Eloise, I don't understand why Christine would say that. Even if I wanted to frame her and sent her to room 6, this is room 9." With that, she pointed at the number on the door.
A big number 9.
Christine stared at the number in disbelief, then fixed a death glare on Sylvia.
Sylvia curled her lips, feigning concern. "Christine, you just said I framed you? But this room also has Eloise's husband. Are you suggesting I conspired with him to drug you without your knowledge? Maybe you should call the police?" Earlier, Christine had instinctively tried to distance herself, thereby implicating Eloise's husband in wrongdoing.
Now, his face darkened.
Christine's eyes darted around, and she quickly changed her story. "It was Freya. She's jealous of Sylvia and despises Bridget, so she threatened me to cause trouble at the party. I was coerced!"
No sooner had she spoken than Freya collapsed to her knees.
Raising her hands as if to swear an oath, she stammered, "I swear, it wasn't me... How could I dare?"
Bridget walked over to Freya, helping her up. "I believe Freya. She's famously timid in our circle. How could she possibly do such a thing?"
Given Freya's fear-driven reaction, nobody bought Christine's tall tale.
Christine met Bridget and Freya's venomous gaze and realized that their supposed cooperation was just using her as a pawn against Sylvia.
Now that she was exposed, she was merely a discarded chess piece.
Eloise looked at her with disgust. "Christine, anything else you want to say?"
Pale-faced, Christine finally felt fear,

He stood up, donned his coat with a cold huff, and left.
A classic jerk, only ever acting in his own interest.
Christine was left facing the music alone.
Until a hotel staff approached, "Ms. Simpson, Mr. Rupert's gift for you has arrived."
Bridget couldn't help but look smug "Let's

People began to murmur.
"Mr. Rupert's gift must be some exquisite jewelry. Can't wait to see it."
"I'm curious about the treasure Mr. Rupert splurged on too."

Bridget glanced at Sylvia with a smirk. "Sure, I'll make sure everyone gets a good look. Let's go."
She led the crowd out of the room.
Eloise also left with a cold huff.
Christine, left on the floor, muttered bitterly as Freya walked past, "Such a loyal dog."
Freya paused, seemingly offering Christine sympathy as she bent down to fix her dress, a subtle sneer on her lips.
"What are you? Not even worth comparing to a dog."
After adjusting the dress, Freya also left.
Finally, the room was left with Sylvia and Christine alone.
As Sylvia was about to leave, Christine scoffed, "How did you know?"
Sylvia turned, her voice icy. "Your biggest mistake was teaming up with Freya."
A self-serving person like her always avoids risks that don't benefit them.
