Encore of the Avenging Muse (Sylvia and Rupert) -
Chapter 126
Sylvia watched Bridget approach with an air of indifference. Straightening up, she glanced at Bridget's bandaged hand and let out a mocking laugh. "Are you done? Must be tough, getting hurt yet still finding the energy to come chat with me. Doesn't quite fit your delicate
damsel act, does it? You should be in bed, weeping like a damsel in distress."
Sylvia mocked her for putting on an act.
Bridget's lips trembled, her voice shaking with anger. "I could never outperform you, pretending to keep your distance from Rupert in public while secretly seducing him at every turn. Playing hard to get? You've turned that into an art form." "Oh, you want lessons?" Sylvia asked with a smirk.
Bridget's face turned red with fury. Her mind was flooded with the scene she had witnessed outside the wine cellar.
Bridget had said she was going to the restroom, but in reality, she wanted to see if Rupert had gone to find Sylvia. When the restaurant manager mentioned Rupert had gone to the administrative area, Bridget was somewhat pleased. At least it meant Sylvia wasn't that important.
But when she reached the administrative area, what she saw stopped her - Rupert was holding Sylvia, even taking her into a private wine cellar, a place Bridget herself had never been allowed to enter.
There she stood, frozen at the door, watching the man she had longed for struggle with his restraint before finally giving in to his desires.
Men's desires are hard to hide. If it hadn't been for her injury call, Rupert would have surely taken Sylvia right then and there. It was all Sylvia's fault for seducing Rupert! Bridget swore not to let Sylvia off the hook!
She glanced at her phone as she sauntered toward the bed, a sinister smile on her face.
She whispered, "Sylvia, all the evidence you had have been deleted, right? But I haven't deleted the photos I have. Oh, don't worry, I won't post them online. Sharing them privately with the ladies for a laugh is just as satisfying. Wait till the whole circle sees the pathetic sight of your mother begging on her knees. We'll be laughing for years.
Oh, and by the way, Rupert told me to keep the photos to protect myself. You know, just in case you go crazy and try to hurt me again."
She let out a mocking laugh, her eyes filled with scorn.
Listening to the irritating laughter,
Sylvia was reminded of Naomi throwing up spoiled food. Her fists clenched tightly, the sudden pressure causing the needle to draw blood. Yet the sting barely

registered; her focus was elsewhere.
In the next second, she raised her hand and slapped Bridget across the face. Bridget screamed. But Sylvia didn't hold back, slapping her again.
"I warned you, a loose tongue deserves a slap!"
Bridget fell to the ground, hands covering her face, tears streaming down. "Sylvia, you can't just go crazy because you're sick!"
"So what if I do?" Sylvia shot back, her voice cold and biting. "It's your fault for running your mouth!"
But her words sounded somewhat
feigned. Sylvia raised her hand again, but before she could strike, Bridget looked up abruptly. Tears still streaked her face, but a Subtle smile tugged at her lips.
That was a trap!
Then the doorknob turned.
In an instant, Sylvia redirected her hand, striking her own face and turning her head to the side, her hair falling to obscure her expression. The door opened, and a stern voice filled the room.
"Sylvia, stop!"
It was Rupert. But he jumped to conclusions, assuming Sylvia was bullying Bridget.
Bridget, seeing her savior, rushed into Rupert's arms, her face swollen and pitiful as if she had been greatly wronged.
"Rupert, I only came because I heard
Sylvia was sick from drinking. I thought maybe I could apologize. After all, if it weren't for my dinner invitation, she wouldn't have ended up like this. But she accused me of ruining her plans and hit me without any explanation, even saying she could claim insanity if caught. I really don't know what I did wrong."
