“However, the painter of this painting is still no match for the internationally renowned masters.”

not the artist.”

“Do you know the painter of this painting?”

Lucy paused for a moment, then shook her head. “Of course not… I just… I think the painting is well done.”

“Oh, you don’t know him, so that’s why you said that. I can’t blame you.”

Seeing Chloe’s knowing look, Cathy frowned. “Chloe, what do you mean by that? Do you know this painter?”

“I do know her, very well.”

Cathy’s words were meant to tease her, but she didn’t expect her actually to know the painter.

For a moment, no one in the room spoke.

“I painted this painting, so that’s why I said it’s not as good as the works of the masters. I know my own limitations.”

Chloe looked at Lucy with a graceful smile.

Lucy’s hands clenched tightly in her lap.

Chloe painted this painting!

She painted a painting that sold for such a high price!

Michael was also shocked. He had been with Chloe for three years, and he never knew she could paint in oil.

Chloe looked at the curious eyes around her and explained, “I took an oil painting elective for a while when I was in college. This was one of my assignments.”

It was just an assignment, and it sold for millions at auction.

Lucy felt a bad taste in her mouth.

“Then Chloe, why didn’t you tell me when I bought it?”

She had wasted so much money!

“Well, I was hoping to drive up the price to discourage you from buying it, but who knew the price would get so high that you still had to buy it?”

Chloe shrugged, washing her hands of any responsibility.

They had heaped so much praise on the painting, originally intending to embarrass Chloe. But to their surprise, it was they who ended up in embarrassment.

Chloe, on the other hand, seemed genuinely delighted by their compliments. She turned to Cathy with a sincere smile.

“Thank you, Cathy. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have realized how good my painting is!”

Admas, overhearing their conversation, almost burst out laughing.

Michael chimed in. “Then why did you stop studying painting?”

She had such talent; even as an elective, she could paint so brilliantly. However, she chose to go to Paramount Airlines instead of continuing to pursue art.

Chloe fell silent.

“Why else? Of course, it was to be with you!” Chloe thought

For him, she had given up her hacking career and her passion for painting.

She thought he would let her win, but instead, she ended up losing miserably.

Admas, of course, didn’t object. If she didn’t leave, Chloe would only get more upset.

As she reached the door, Lucy turned to Michael, her eyes filled

with emotion.

“Michael, I didn’t drive here today, and it’s hard to get a cab around the old mansion. Could you… take me home?”
