Desert Heat Chapter 45

{Allie’s P.O.V.}

After the meeting with the Big Bend Pack, time went by pretty fast, before we knew it, it was the day before the big night. The night we would all shift for the time. Mercury has been prancing in my head nonstop. She is so excited to finally get out and show herself. I was curious to know what she would look like, how big she would be, what color her eyes would be. Leah and Sin said that Venus and Jupiter are being just as annoying about it all.

Hey, can you blame us! We’ve been locked up for almost three weeks! It’s time we show ourselves, our bond as sister wolves, and see how our mates react.

I just smiled. I was sitting in my office doing some online shopping for a new vanity when Eleanor came in.

“Oh, there are you are sweetheart,” she says and waltzes right in. She never knocked or waited for me to say ‘come in’. Dorian and I avoided having s*x in my office because of that. It could be locked, and she would still find a way to get in.

“Hi,” I said.

“I need you to pick between these two colors,” she said holding out two colors plates in front of me

“What are these for?” I asked her.

“They’re for your Luna dress,”

“My what?” I looked at her in shock. No one told me I had to wear a f*****g dress tomorrow night.

“Your Luna dress,” she repeated. “Allie, all Luna’s are supposed to wear a special dress on the night of their Luna Ceremony. Although the ceremony is more of a formality, you still have to wear one,” she explained. I made an O shape with my mouth and nodded. I looked at the two fabric colors, one was a baby pink and the other was a crystal baby blue. I honestly hated both.

“Uhh…I’m sorry Eleanor, but I honestly hate both of these colors. I can’t lie,”

“I see, well I figured just as much,” she said right away.

“Huh?”

“These are the colors Helena and Bridget picked out for you. I told them that you would hate both of them, but they wouldn’t listen,”

“Did you pick a color?” I asked hesitantly.

“I did,” she pulled a piece of fabric from the pocket in her skirt. It was a turquoise mint color with very subtle flecks of emerald green. I looked up at her and just smiled. “I knew you would love this color! Those two never listen to me! I know my future daughter-in-law,” she said proudly.

“Yes, you do,” I smiled again. I held the piece to my face to show her what it would look like on me, and she just glistened.

“This color just suits your yellow undertoned skin Allie. Oh, and before I forget, Amber will be here early this evening. We wanted to know if you would be open to having a family dinner at our house with her and her husband?”

“I would love to,”

“Wonderful, I’ve already told Dorian, but he wanted to make sure you were up for it as well, see you later darling,” she waved and walked out the door. Just then, I got a mind link from Dorian,

Hey beautiful, what are you up to?

I just got done picking out the color for a dress that I have to apparently have to wear, that no one told me about.

Ah, f**k. My mother is making you wear one.

Mmhm… And you know I hate dresses.

I’m sorry, baby. The elders and I told her it wasn’t necessary, but she never listens.

It’s okay, she at least picked out a color that I love. Helena and Bridget picked out baby pink and crystal blue. Bleh!

Hahaha! Aunt Helena and Aunt Bridget like the girly colors, my mom is more neutral.

Did she tell you about dinner with Amber and Ronnie?

She did, and I wouldn’t miss it.

Alright. I will be leaving the office in about two hours. Amber should be landing at McCarran International at 4:30 P.M. and should be at my parents’ house by 6:00ish. So, that gives you a few hours to relax.

I decided to keep searching for a new vanity, but nothing I saw stood out to me. I honestly didn’t want to have to settle on another Ikea set because that s**t took forever to put together. I searched for another hour, but eventually gave up. I turned off the computer and went to go see what Sin and Leah were doing.

Where are you guys?

I skip down the stairs and make my way to the kitchen and see Helena, Bridget, and the girls chatting away, eating…

“HEY! THAT’S MY ICE CREAM!” I shouted when I see the tub of mint chocolate chip on the table. They all look at me with their spoons halfway to their mouths.

“Technically, this one is Dorian’s,” Leah said with a mouth full of ice cream.

“That’s even worse,” I said sitting in Dorian’s chair.

“Oh my gosh. Hell has frozen over!” Sin said.

“What?”

“You’re sitting on your own a*s for once!” Leah said while taking another scoop of Dorian’s tub of ice cream. He was going to be so mad. Now I had to share mine with him.

“Oh, shut up!” I said taking the spoon from Sin and taking a spoonful. “You guys having fun with your future mothers-in-laws?” I ask them.

“Duh!” They both said

“Hey, where’s your mother in law at?” Sin asked me taking the spoon back.

“Finalizing the color of the dress I am supposed to wear tomorrow,” I said crossing my arms.

“Oh, you have to wear a dress?” Sin asked knowing that I hate dresses. I just nodded.

“What color did you end up picking darling? It was the pink one, right?” Helena asked with a smile on her face. I looked at Sin.

“Helena, Allie actually hates the color pink, she always has,” Sin told her. Helena frowned.

“That means she had to have picked the Crystal Blue,” Bridget said.

“Um, no,” I said to Bridget. They both looked at me funny.

“Sweetheart, if you didn’t pick the pink or blue, what color did you pick?” Helena asked.

“I picked the color that Eleanor chose,” they looked at me funny again.

“What color might that be?” Bridget asked

“It’s a surprise,” I smiled. They all frowned again, and I just giggled. We sat together and just gossiped. Helena and Bridget absolutely love Sin and Leah. It was good to see that we all had amazing mother-in-laws that loved us like their own. Leah was real lucky, she technically had two moms now. I didn’t realize how much time had passed,

“Is that my ice cream?” I heard Dorian’s voice.

“No, it’s Allie’s,” Sin said

“Wait, what? You guys told me…”

“We lied,” Leah said

“We told you it was Dorians’ tub, but it really was yours,” Sin said licking her spoon and tossing into the empty tub.

“I hate you skanks!” I shouted. All of them started to laugh.

“Allie,” Dorian called me

“What?” I said with attitude. Then I saw what he was holding in his hands.

“Oh! Oh! Is that the 7-11 mint cookies n’ cream one?” he nodded. I jumped out of my seat and ran over to him. “Thank you, baby!!” I took it from him and kissed him. I was about to tear it open, but he stopped me by taking it away. “Hey!” I pouted immediately.

“After dinner, baby,” he said putting it away in the freezer. I forgot about dinner with this family. “Come on, let’s shower and get ready,” he said taking my hand.

“Bye!” I shouted to the ladies who were giggling and snickering.

Dorian and I got ready and headed out to his parents. They moved out of the packhouse and into of the townhomes in the territory. It only took a few minutes to get there by car. I opted for walking, but Dorian didn’t want to. For someone as fit like him, he sure could be lazy sometimes.

We pulled up their home and got out. Dorian stopped by and picked up flowers and wine for Amber. He held the wine while I held the flowers while we walked up to the door and rang the doorbell. When the door opened, there stood a goddess. Her hair was a long as mine but pin-straight, and it was black like Dorian and Eleanor. She had grey eyes like Benjamin and was at least 5’9 barefoot. I was only 5’2 and wearing five-inch heels and she was still taller than me. She had the perfect hourglass body and she closely resembled Victoria Secret model Adriana Lima.

“You must be Allie!!” She hugged me tight.

“Hi, Amber, it is so nice to meet you,” I said back to her.

“Come on in you two!” We entered the house. “Come here, little brother!” She pulled Dorian in for a huge hug.

“Hey Sis,” he said. Just then, I saw this humungous guy come out of the kitchen. He was a little smaller than Dorian, in muscles, but they were approximately the same height. Why were all werewolf men so f*****g huge? I mean, the only small wolf I have ever met was Devin. Even the guys from Big Bend were huge.

“Dorian!” the guy came and gave him a bro hug.

“Ronnie, this is my mate and the Luna of Desert Moon, Allie Park,” Dorian said introducing me.

“Hi, Allie. My name is Ronald Dearing, but everyone calls me Ronnie. I’m the Beta of our pack in Florida,”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Ronnie,” I said while shaking his hand.

“Dorian, I thought you said she was little?” Amber said. “She’s almost my height,”

“Oh, I’m wearing five-inch heels,” I took off my shoes, went flat-footed, and dropped down. Both Amber and Ronnie busted out laughing.

“Wow, you are tiny!” Amber said. “Damn, and I thought mom was small,” she continued. “How has he not crushed you yet?” she asked.

“I’m sorry?”

“During s*x,”

“AMBER!” Dorian boomed with this Alpha tone.

“Don’t get all Alpha on me, little brother. I can still kick your a*s!”

“You have been here five minutes Dorian, and you two are already bickering! Amber, stop meddling in their s*x life, and come help me set the table!” Eleanor shouted from the kitchen.

“Yes, mom,”

“I can help too,” I said

“Nope! You’re the guest,” she protested

“Aren’t you the guest?” I asked

“No, I’m the daughter, big difference. You guys go sit with Ronnie in the living room, and we will call you when dinner is ready,” I wanted to protest, but Dorian just shook his head. We went and sat on the couch in the living room that was right by the dining room and kitchen. Whatever Eleanor was cooking smelled delicious.

“So, Allie, how old are you?” Ronnie asked

“I turned 22 back in April,”

“Oh wow, you are young. Older than I thought, but still young,”

“How old did you think I was?”

“18 or 19,” I looked at him in shock. Did I really look that young?

“It’s because she’s Asian! All the Asian girls I know look five to ten years younger than they really are. Allie is going to look 22 even when she is my age!” Amber shouted from the kitchen. I just smiled and giggled.

“So, I heard that you were originally human. Is that true?” Ronnie asked

“Um, yeah. Dorian turned me just over three weeks ago,” I replied

“Oh, so you’re still a newborn,” I nodded.

“I heard that you guys have five pups, where are they?” I asked him.

“We left them with my parents, traveling with five pups is kind of hard. Besides, we’ll only be here until Saturday afternoon, then we have to go back. As a ranked member, I can’t be gone too long,”

“I understand. Maybe we can go visit you guys in Florida one day. I would love to meet my new nieces and nephews,”

“YES! You are more than welcome in our home!” Amber yelled from the dining room.

“Alright, that’s enough talking, dinner is ready,” Benjamin called from the table. We all got up and walked over. The spread was amazing.

“Allie, Dorian mentioned that you enjoy steak and seafood, so I did my own twist on surf n’ turf,” Eleanor said.

“This looks amazing, Eleanor!” I beamed. There were ribeye steaks medium rare, Cajun shrimp, king crab legs, and lobster tails. There was also tossed salad, roasted red potatoes, corn, and spicy sausage. “I don’t know where to start,” I said looking at everything. Dorian sat down and I went to sit in my own seat,

“Where are you going?” Dorian asked me

“To sit in a chair,” I looked at him funny and sat down.

“Allie,”

“No! I need my space for this,” he pouted and grunted.

“I’m lost,” Amber said

“Your brother wants me to sit in his lap,” I told her cutting into a piece of ribeye.

“What?” Amber shocked. “You, make her sit in your lap when you eat? You, showing PDA? Since when?” she asked him.

“Since I found the love of my life, now f**k off,”

“Dorian language!” Eleanor shouted.

“Pffft…” I started to laugh hearing Dorian get scolded. Here he was, big bad Alpha getting scolded by his mother. “I’m sorry…hehe…I’m just going to eat,” I said and tore apart the precut king crab leg. “Mmmmm…” I m****d.

“Well, if Allie is moaning when she eats, it means it’s good,” Dorian said. Ignored him and continued to enjoy my meal. Nothing was going to distract me, not even the fact that his hand was between my thighs.

“Dorian, stop fondling your mate and eat,” Amber said biting into her corn. Dorian grunted and started to eat. Dinner went so smoothly. We talked, we laughed, we drank wine and had some of Eleanor’s key lime cheesecake. It was so delicious. It made me forget about the gas station ice cream Dorian got.

“Allie, if you have a moment, I have your Luna dress upstairs. I need you to try it on so I can make last-minute alterations for tomorrow,” Eleanor said. I nodded and she took me upstairs.

{Dorian’s P.O.V.}

After mom took Allie upstairs, I made sure I heard the door closed.

“Pst, Amber,” she looked at me and gestured for her to meet me outback. We went out back together and turned on the porch light.

“What’s up?” I pulled out a small box from my pocket. She gasped. “No,” she said.

“Yeah,” I said and opened the box. Amber’s eyes popped out of their socket and her jaw dropped to the floor when she saw the 20 carats rose gold princess cut diamond engagement ring inside.

“Dorian, how many carats is this?” she said being gentle with it.

“20, is that not enough?”

“Not eno…? What the f**k!? It’s bigger than her tiny hand!”

“Do you think Allie will like it?”

“Like it? She’s going to love it!” hearing Amber saying this made me feel less nervous about tomorrow night. “Little brother, this is the perfect ring. I am jeal…ous,” I smiled and closed the box and put it back in my pocket. I couldn’t wait to put it on Allie’s hand.

“Did you tell mom and dad?”

“No, technically, we’re already engaged,” I told her.

“What?”

“Allie proposed to me first, the night we marked each other,”

“Oh, s**t!”

“Yeah, but I have been keeping the ring a secret for the last couple of months. I didn’t want to propose to soon, obviously, but since she asked me first, that lifted a lot off my shoulders,”

“I can imagine. Oh, my goddess, I am so f*****g happy for you Dorian!” She gave me a huge hug. “You sure it will fit?”

“I had her figure measured while she was in a coma,”

“Oh, sneaky bastard,” she laughed and punched my arm. “Look, I may be giddy and excited, but that’s because I’m a woman. As your big sister, I am so f*****g proud of you Dorian. You finally got your s**t together, and now you have this amazing young woman as your mate, your Luna, and soon-to-be wife. I highly approve of her Dorian by the way. She may have been human at one point, but now she’s this amazing wolf and her presence just screams the Luna aura. She is strong, courageous, compassionate, loving, respectful, and she’s really f*****g sexy,”

“Haha,”

“The moon goddess did right by you Dorian. She gave you the perfect mate. And she’s a blessed wolf from what Dad has told me. You and your friends have received the most precious gifts, Dorian. You and Allie, are going to lead your pack so far, I can just see it,”

“Thanks, Amber,” she hugged me one more time.

The time was near. Allie may have asked me first, but I was going to make it official in 24 hours.
