Daddy's Little Whore -
Daddy’s Little Whore – Part 50
KEIRA’S POV
“Papa!” I screamed and ran over to his bed.
He was groaning, his voice getting more prominent. His eyes fluttered open and a smile curled up my lips.
“Papa! Are you okay?!” I asked, frantic.
Papa looked at me without saying a word. I frowned at him. Why was he not responding? The beeping on the monitor began to speed up. My eyes trailed to the monitor and I noticed his heart rate was increasing drastically.
My head snapped back to him and all the b***d drained from me when I saw him convulsing on the bed.
“Papa?!” I screamed.
My head snapped to Natasha who looked just as distressed as I felt.
“Call the nurse or the doctor!” I yelled without thinking.
Natasha nodded and scampered out of the room. I turned my head back to my father and could only watch him convulse on the bed.
“Dad, you are going to be okay, you are going to be okay,” I whispered as my body trembled.
I was not reassuring him, but I was reassuring myself. As I watched my dad, fear ran through me. Why was he acting like this? Was he going to be okay? Non-stop questions bombarded my head.
I heard the sound of the door bursting open and I turned to it. A doctor and two nurses trooped in immediately.
“Doctor, is my father okay? Will he be okay?” I questioned frantically.
“We do not know yet. I need to run some tests and stabilise him, but you cannot be here. Please exit the room.”
I was reluctant to leave Papa. It felt like if I left, he would be gone forever. I was about to protest when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to see Natasha, giving me a certain look.
I could tell what she wanted to say. I bit my lips and started towards the door. Natasha and I walked to the waiting area and I sunk into a chair. My hands were still trembling and my heart was thumping loudly in my chest.
“Everything is going to be fine,” Natasha said and placed a reassuring arm on my shoulder.
A tear slipped down my eyes and I began to sob.
“He was shaking in front of Natasha, he did not look okay,” I croaked.
She sighed and threw me into a hug. I buried my head in her shoulder and sobbed softly. I was in great distress. My mind could not focus on anything other than my father. I was desperate to know whether or not he was doing okay.
But the doctors were taking too long.
I let Natasha cradle me in her arms until we noticed Brendon approaching us. He ran up to us with paper bags from a popular restaurant in his hands.
“What happened? Why are you both sitting out here?” He questioned.
“Mr Temple woke up, but his condition was not very good. The doctors are treating him right now,” Natasha explained.
I looked up at Brendon through my teary eyes and he pulled me into a hug. What would I do without both of them?
We all waited patiently in the waiting area. I would occasionally glance at the clock. My patience was running thin. I shot up from my chair and began to pace around as I chewed on my nail.
After what felt like excruciatingly long hours, I saw the door to my father’s hospital room swing open down the hallway. The doctor walked out and I sprinted towards him.
“How is my father?!” I asked the moment I was standing in front of him.
The doctor, who held a clipboard in his hand let out a sigh. From his expression I could tell that things were not good.
“Well, your father is in no mortal danger, but he is not in a very stable condition. Normally we do not allow our patients to talk to anyone right after treatment, but your father insisted on speaking with you. Please refrain from saying anything that could cause a speed up in his heart rate.”
I nodded frantically and brushed past the doctor. Natasha and I walked into Papa’s room. He was laying on the hospital bed looking much more stable than the last time I had seen him.
His eyes met mine the moment I entered the room. He gave me a weak smile and my heart shattered into a million pieces. I could not bear to see the man like this, in this state. I would lose my mind if anything happened to him.
I walked over to the bed and crouched down beside it, my eyes still fixed on my father.
“You scared me to death, Papa,” I croaked as more tears slipped down my eyes.
He chuckled softly and brushed his hands against my cheeks weakly.
“I am really sorry, I must have scared you,”
My lips trembled and tears rolled down my cheeks like a waterfall.
“I was scared, so scared dad. I thought you were going to leave me too, I thought I was going to be all alone here,” I sobbed.
I could not be all alone here, he can’t leave me all by myself. I had tried my best to look strong, but my facade had completely worn off. I broke down and began to weep. Tears flooded my cheeks and pooled to my chin.
I was letting out my emotions, how I really felt at the moment.
“You can’t leave me all alone dad, you can’t do that to me. What am I going to do without you? I can’t handle things on my own,” I said in between my hysterical cries.
I placed my hand over his and sobbed even more.
“I am not going anywhere Keira, I can promise you that. It would be bad of me to leave you here all by yourself,”
Natasha came and crouched beside me. She looked at me, her eyes filled with warmth.
“Your father is not going anywhere Keira,” Natasha said and placed a hand on my back.
She gave me a reassuring hug and I began to calm down slowly. I wiped the tears from my cheeks and felt a bit better now that I had cried my eyes out.
“Natasha, if you do not mind, I would like to speak with Keira alone,” Papa said.
“Of course sir,” my best friend nodded and turned to me. “I will be in the waiting room with Brendon.”
I gave her a smile and nodded. Natasha exited the room. I grabbed a chair and sat beside the bed. He must want to say something very important.
“I am sure you are wondering why I got a heart attack all of a sudden.”
I nodded.
My father sighed and his eyes trailed to the ceiling.
“Well, the truth is, I got an email from your brother.”
Even though my eyes went wide in shock, it did not stop me from correcting Papa, “Step brother.”
Papa nodded.
“You got an email from him?!” I exclaimed, my heart accelerating hysterically in my chest.
My father nodded.
“I was working on my laptop when the email popped up at the side of my screen. I thought it was another useless email, but I just clicked on it. I never anticipated that it would be an email from your brother,” Marcus spoke like he was reliving the moment.
I was dumbfounded. Why would my brother send an email to Papa now after all these years? It was strange. I looked at my father and spoke.
“But what were the contents of the email?”
Papa turned to me, his eyes a bit cold. I got the message immediately. He did not want to disclose the contents of the email. I wanted to push him to talk, but I quickly remembered what the doctor had said.
I discarded the idea and did not bring up the email again. But I was furious that my bastard step-brother would send something that would cause Papa this much shock.
I sighed and buried my hands in my face.
“Hey, come on, no need to be all gloomy. I will be fine,” Papa reassured me. I looked up at him and shot him a small smile.
“How about we go out for dinner once I am discharged?”
I brightened up at his suggestion.
“Of course, that would be a great idea,”
We both chuckled and I felt at ease, just a little bit. All my worrying and panicking about Papa was gone. I could see now that my father would be okay. The door to the room clicked open and drew my attention away from him.
The doctor was standing there, looking at me expectantly. I got up from the chair and walked over to him. We exited the room and he began to flip through the clipboard in his hand.
“Your father needs to stay here for a while. We need to run a few more tests and stabilise his condition before he can leave.”
“When can he be discharged?” I asked.
“After a week, his condition should be better.”
I nodded. I could not wait until he was finally discharged.
