Josh admitted that his parents and even uncles were obsessed with the baby in Jasmine's womb since they discovered she was pregnant. They restricted her from doing many things and specified that she had to eat her three meals according to a dietician's recommendations. They also did not allow her to go outside frequently for fear of her getting hurt.

The elders of the Bucham family wanted Jasmine to stay home and rest for the fetus's sake.

Even if she wanted to go shopping, they would dissuade her from it and tell her to make a list of what she wanted to buy to be passed to the butler. The butler would buy the items for her.

Even Serenity was traumatized by Jasmine being overprotected. Therefore, she laid out rules with Zachary right after knowing she was pregnant.

Having a comparison made things worse for Jasmine.

Before Serenity got pregnant, Jasmine could not make any comments because Josh had been nice to her.

When Serenity got pregnant, the York family and Zachary's consideration for Serenity made Jasmine envious. She could not help herself from ranting to her husband.

Many women wished to rest well at home after finding out they were pregnant. However, they had to continue working to make ends meet. Some women even worked until they were in the late stages of pregnancy.

Jasmine pulled his hand and cupped her face with it.

Josh was extremely nice to her.

Jasmine knew just how much Josh doted on her.

"No. I'll think about what you said. You must voice out any dissatisfaction you have toward me. Don't bottle them up and ruin your mood. If you don't tell me, I won't know what I'm doing badly nor can I rectify it. "I've said I don't want you to be jealous of anyone, even if that person's your best friend. I want you to be envied by others."

Their journey from blind date to marriage had gone smoothly without any hardships. It may not have been as dramatic as Zachary and Serenity's journey, but Josh had been trying his best to understand and tolerate his wife.

"Jasmine, you must let me know whenever you're unhappy about something."

Jasmine smiled. "Okay. I'll voice out if you're not afraid of your pride getting hurt."

"I'm thick-skinned and broad-minded. I'm not scared of my pride being hurt. You can be straightforward. I'm more afraid of you being unsatisfied with me and not telling me my mistakes. I won't be able to correct myself and become inferior to Zachary."

"Ah, having such an excellent friend and superior is stressful."

To make things worse, their wives were the best of friends.

Although Jasmine would not compare him to Zachary, Josh would unconsciously do so himself.

"It's my fault. I stressed you out. I'm being ungrateful..."

Josh grabbed his wife's soft body.

His sudden movement caught Jasmine off guard. She fell into his embrace.

"I won't allow you to say those words, dear. My family has placed many restrictions on you. I know your personality well. It must've been difficult for you."

The Soxes had become wealthy because of a past relocation. Jasmine lacked nothing and could have spent her days collecting rent for her family.

However, she disliked that kind of life. She said she would only become a landlady after getting older and retiring. She could help her children by collecting rent as a pastime.

She wanted to explore and live her own life while she was young.

Therefore, she became business partners with Serenity and opened a bookstore together. When she found out Serenity and Elisa wanted to invest in a company specializing in fresh produce and purchase land to grow crops, she became an investor without hesitation.

It should have been a company and career consisting of three people.

However, Jasmine was requested to stay home to rest and be a carefree missus because she was pregnant. She was not allowed to participate in anything. That must have made her feel depressed.
