The people in the room went out unnoticed. They left the space to the husband and wife. Zachary hugged the person in his arms tightly. He said softly, "I'm happy and excited too."

"Zachary."

"Mm."

"..."

Serenity raised her head from Zachary's embrace. When he lowered his head and saw her red eyes, his heart ached for her. He kissed her eye gently and coaxed her softly, "Don't cry. My heart breaks looking at you cry.

"Now that you're pregnant, you must keep your emotions stable."

"I know. I'm just too excited. I've been so stressed over the past year, especially when Jasmine got pregnant despite marrying later. I got more anxious." Zachary kissed Serenity's lips lightly and said, "Say no more, Seren. I know. I know everything. I'm sorry that you had to be so stressed because of me."

The people of Wiltspoon started paying attention to her belly half a year after their marriage.

However, Serenity did not get pregnant. Although he had announced they were not in a rush to have children because he wanted to spend quality time with her, many people still said Serenity was infertile in private.

They said that even if she could marry into a wealthy family, she would be chased out of the York family sooner or later because she could not give birth.

Zachary had warned countless people. He would not allow those rumors to reach Serenity's ears.

Nevertheless, she still found out.

She did not say anything and looked indifferent. However, only Zachary knew how much she looked forward to having a baby.

"Don't think about anything, Seren. You just have to be happy and be the prettiest mom from now on."

Serenity's eyes met his for a moment. She nodded with force and leaned into his arms again as she tried to calm her overwhelming emotions.

Zachary hugged her.

They comforted each other.

The room was utterly silent until they heard the sound of someone kicking on the crib.

"Our goddaughter is awake."

Serenity pushed Zachary away lightly. She got up and walked toward the crib. As expected, Chloe was kicking the wooden frame of the crib. After spotting Serenity, she looked happy and started kicking her short legs mid-air.

Chloe had also kicked the little blanket that was used to cover her to the opposite end of the crib.

Beside her, Connor had woken up too.

The boy pouted once he opened his eyes. Before he could cry, his younger sister's hand accidentally hit his face and startled him. He started wailing afterward.

Connor's crying had woken Oliver, who was in their crib, too.

The two crybabies started competing on whose crying was louder.

Chloe, who had gotten up first, turned to look at her brother. She did not cry and simply stared at him.

Zachary did not carry the crying Connor. Instead, he lifted Chloe and said, "Ben's daughter is so cute and obedient. She rarely cries. I can finally carry her in my arms." He had carried Chloe first because he hoped he and Serenity could have a daughter.

It would be even better if they could have fraternal twins with this pregnancy.

However, Zachary had heard that mothers who were pregnant with twins suffered a lot in the late stages of their pregnancy.

He did not want his beloved wife to suffer. He was content with just having a daughter.

Serenity was debating between carrying Connor or Oliver.

After several long wails, Connor flipped over and buried his face in his blanket. Serenity had no choice but to carry him first, as she was worried he would suffocate. The two crybabies' wailing reminded the people outside, who had left the room to give privacy to the couple, that they had left the three children in the nursery. Jane quickly entered the room.

Serenity passed Connor to Jane when she saw her enter.

"Connor still cries once he wakes up. Chloe only kicks the crib after waking up to remind the adults that she's awake. She even looks like she's enjoying the show as she watches her brother cry."
