After the call with her sister, Serenity heard Sonny's giggle outside, laughing as she said to herself, "Kids really are capricious. They change whenever they want!" As long as he did not ask her for another brother or sister, it would be fine.

Liberty returned to her new shop. When she parked her car, she saw Duncan coming out from the shop in a wheelchair and a number of bodyguards around him. He must have come for Liberty but she was not around, so he must be leaving.

Who would have thought he would run into her when he wanted to leave.

When he spotted Liberty coming out of the car, Duncan told the bodyguard to stop wheeling him. He waited for Liberty with a smile in front of the restaurant.

"Mr. Lewis, when did you arrive? How long have you been here?" Liberty asked as she walked over to him. "I wasn't in the shop but you can always call me if there's anything urgent."

"I just arrived. I went inside and found out you weren't here, so I wanted to go back. Who would have thought I would run into you on the way out. It's nothing important, I just want to see you." She was his mental support for standing up again.

Only by seeing her succeed, it would give him a sense of danger, hence his continuation of doing rehabilitation.

Since he could not forget her, Duncan wanted to protect her even if he was bound to a wheelchair. He would not allow anyone to snatch her away.

Liberty wheeled him inside and said, "My office is done. Let's go have a drink."

"Alright."

Duncan turned around to look at her as she wheeled him in.

When they were in her office, he asked, "Where were you just now? I thought you were at All You Can Eat, but you weren't there either. That's why I came here."

"I was at the hospital," Liberty said honestly. "I went to check on Chelsea and also asked about Hank. He's Sonny's biological father after all."

Duncan hummed a reply. He obviously sounded jealous.

Even though he knew it was impossible between Liberty and Hank, he could not alter the fact that Hank was Sonny's biological father. With Sonny around, Liberty would have to meet Hank one way or another. "Hank still hasn't woken up?" Duncan asked.

Liberty poured him a glass of warm water and answered, "No. When I was there, his parents were not around either."

Chelsea was under his husband's care.

Duncan went silent.

Liberty did not want to discuss her ex-husband with Duncan, so she switched the topic. "Mr. Lewis, how are you today?"

She looked at Duncan's legs.

Duncan put his hand on his leg and said, "I still can't exert enough strength to stand for longer than a minute. Liberty, am I that useless?"

He cared a lot about how Liberty viewed him.

Liberty consoled and encouraged him, "Mr. Lewis, you don't need to feel discouraged. You've just been discharged a few days ago.no.ve.e.book It's great that you can already get on your feet. Even though you can't stand longer than a minute, I believe you will get better in time. Take it slowly. Don't rush things."

Looking at her, Duncan unconsciously reached out to her hand.

Liberty instinctively wanted to pull her hand away but he held it tightly.

"Liberty, if I can stand up again and walk like a normal person, and if you still haven't gotten a new boyfriend, can you give me a chance?"
