Cupid's Arrow hit me hard! -
Chapter 1829
"Missus... isn't home." Zachary paused.
He turned to ask Sam, "Where did she go?" "Missus didn't say anything." Zachary was disappointed that he could not see his wife after work. He immediately took out his phone to call her.
The phone rang for a long time, but Serenity did not pick up.
After ending the call, he asked, "Who did she go out with? Was it Nana?" There was no sound from the TV inside.
Grandma May was probably not home as well.
"Yes. Sonny too." Zachary acknowledged and did not ask further.
He brought the present he bought for Serenity into the house.
Grandma May was an old child who could not stay still at home.
She probably asked Serenity to have supper with her or enjoy the night breeze.
Sam followed behind Zachary.
He wished to speak but hesitated.
Zachary did not notice that.
After entering the house, he placed the gift on the coffee table and sat on the sofa.
He tried calling Serenity again, but she still did not pick up even though the call connected.
"why isn't she picking up my calls?" Zachary switched to sending messages.
He asked Serenity: [ Honey, what are you doing? Why aren't you picking up my call? Did Nana bring you along to do something naughty again?) He had heard from his father that Grandma May often liked to take his mother out to do "bad things" when she had just married into the family.
Grandma May stopped bringing his mother out afterward because his mother's personality was not suitable for it.
Serenity's personality was different from his mother's.
Serenity was close to his nana and if Grandma May were to bring her out to do something crazy, she would definitely be willing.
Serenity did not reply to Zachary's message.
He murmured, "They couldn't have gone and experienced a host bar, right?" His nana could actually do such a thing.
She said the men in host bars looked the best.
She also mentioned she used to go there several times to obtain some information, and there were many handsome men there.
When Zachary listened to his nana recalling her past, his grandfather's face was always dark.
"Tt can't be.
They have Sonny with them." Upon remembering that they had brought Sonny out with them, Zachary denied his guess.
"Nana might have been a playful old child, but she still prioritized a child's education and inculcating correct outlooks on life." Grandma May would never go to that place or get in touch with improper people when Sonny was with them.
Serenity was neither picking up his calls nor replying to his messages.
Zachary felt uneasy.
He was used to his wife answering or responding to his calls and messages immediately.
If his wife were slow in her reply, he would feel she did not care about him and was neglecting him.
Zachary called Liberty.
When she answered the call, he asked, "Liberty, where did Seren go with Sonny?" Upon hearing her brother-in-law's question, Liberty was stunned.
She returned a question, "Don't you know that Seren brought Sonny on a trip, Zachary? She called me in the afternoon and said she and Nana were bringing Sonny out to have fun as the summer break was ending.
They'll be back before the first day of September.
"They departed in the evening.
I thought you knew about it." When Zachary heard his sister-in-law's words, he was utterly shocked.
