Simon smiled bitterly. "Hearing you call me that makes me feel ashamed. I won't take up too much of your time. I'm here because I need a favor. As you know, my wife had an accident. I don't have any income now, and it's been tough. "Could you lend me some money so that I can get back on my feet? I promise I'll pay you back."

Bella sarcastically replied, "Did you come here to borrow money from me because you think I have it, or because you feel I'm responsible for your bankruptcy, so I owe it to you? I'm just a doctor. How much do you think I can give you? You're asking the wrong person." Simon chuckled mockingly. "You're Dominic Miller's woman. How can you have no money? "Can you be any more shameless? You've never done anything for me, so why should I help you? You must be desperate enough to come looking for me. His words were meant to mislead the crowd as they painted Bella as the ungrateful one. Whispers started spreading through the crowd, accusing Bella of being undeserving of her white coat. There were accusations claiming she pretended to save lives while neglecting her own father.

Bella trembled with anger. "Simon Kennedy, you want money, right? Fine, I'll give it to you! Just tell me how much you need. If you're brave enough to take it, I'll hand it over!"

Simon didn't hesitate at all when he heard her words. He only cared about getting the money. "Not much. Just 1.5 million will do. I promise I'll pay you back once I'm financially stable!"

expression was dark as she headed back to her office to grab her handbag. Then, she took Simon to a nearby bank. At the ATM, she checked the balance on the card Dominic had given her. To her surprise, there was three million dollars in it. She had underestimated how generous he could be.

Simon also saw the balance, and a greedy glint lit up in his eyes. Bella pulled out the card and tucked it back in her bag

"I'll transfer you 1.5 million. But if you come looking for more,

don't say I didn't warn you!"

When Simon realized he wouldn't get the money immediately, disappointment washed over his face. "How long will it take? Can you give me a definite timeline? 1 really need the money."

Bella was unsure how long a large transfer would take, so she randomly picked a number. "Within three days, I guess. It's only a loan, right? Write me a promissory note. Otherwise, I won't be able to explain things to Dominie."

Simon quickly grabbed a pen and paper from a bank employee and scribbled a note. Then, he pressed his fingerprint on it. "Look. There's no problem with it, right? I'm not trying to stir up trouble. A sum of 1.5 million is nothing to Dominic.

"If he expects an explanation from you for giving 1.5 million to your biological father, doesn't that mean he doesn't respect you at all?"
