He never saw it coming that Stella was actually Ronald's adopted sister.

As Jeremy's gaze, filled with laughter, met hers, Stella's mind wavered for a moment. Instinctively, she tried to wriggle her arm out of the man's grasp. However, Jeremy handed her a box, saying, "A peace offering." A gift?

Eyeing the red velvet box Jeremy handed over, she recognized the brand immediately. Stella wanted nothing to do with it. This expensive piece of jewelry was clearly a bribe.

"What's the meaning of this, Mr. Patel?"

"Sirena was out of line before, and I'm here to apologize on her behalf. I've confined her now; she has no way to contact the outside world. You can rest assured, she won't be bothering you anymore." Stella was speechless. Was that really the issue here?

Jeremy shoved the velvet box into her hands, "Could you put in a good word for me with your brother? This partnership is really important to us."

These past few days, Jeremy nearly had Sirena on her deathbed.

Before Ronald arrived in Portis City, they had communicated smoothly over the phone. However, Sirena had stirred up trouble. And Jeremy hadn't expected Stella's connection to Ronald that Ronald had personally taken her in and raised her. How could they mistreat her like this?

Considering what happened to the Schultz family in Ferrowland, he was well aware of the consequences. Stella was not someone to be trifled with.

And Sirena....

Just thinking about Sirena made Jeremy wish he could end her himself, not to mention Yorick and the Larkin family! Jeremy couldn't bear to think about their fate.

These past days, just finding out how protective Ronald was of his sister had him sweating bullets for them.

Stella pushed the box back into Jeremy's hands, "If I relay your message, you're really done for."

Jeremy's eyelids twitched fiercely, "I..."

Stella kept on, "Mr. Patel only found out about my connection to him. Did you not investigate how much he despises nepotism?" Jeremy remained silent.

He had, of course! But he thought Stella's case might be different, being Ronald's prized sister. "But our falling out was indeed because of you, during my grandfather's birthday banquet."

Everything was going fine until Sirena and Stella's argument threw a wrench in things. Jeremy had seen brothers be good to their sisters, but Ronald's level of devotion was something else. This whole situation was bizarre.

Stella uttered, "If that's how Mr. Patel sees it, then I have nothing more to say."

"Don't be like that."

What did she mean by having nothing more to say? If Stella had nothing to say, then his partnership with Ronald was indeed over.

Stella moved to sit in an office chair to the side. Across the desk, Jeremy placed the gift box back on the table, pushing it toward Stella again.

Stella sighed, "I'll make a call for you, then."

Jeremy and Sirena were on

completely different levels. Stella

wasn't sure if Ronald's anger

included her, but given Jeremy's insistence today, he wouldn'Dlet it go without trying.

So, in front of Jeremy, Stella dialed Ronald's number.

The call connected quickly, "Star."

"Ronald, what do you think of Jeremy?" Stella got straight to the point.

Hearing this, Jeremy's brow twitched. This was not what he had in mind he had expected some good words for him, not gauging his character with Ronald.

But let it be. He believed his character was beyond reproach.

Yet, as Stella posed this question to Ronald, Jeremy couldn't help but feel anxious.
