Having pondered over it during the entire drive and coming up empty, Stella decided to straight-up ask Ronald.

Ronald raised an eyebrow at her, "Eat your food!"

Stella was speechless, thinking, "What did I even do to tick him off?"

Racking her brain, she couldn't recall saying anything out of line.

Yorick had changed his clothes, and Orion, almost reflexively, asked, "Sir, should we head to the hospital to check on your leg?" Exiting the hospital earlier, Yorick's walk had been a bit off, prompting Orion's concern for any underlying issues.

The atmosphere in the car chilled with the question.

Orion added, "Also, Mrs. Larkin mentioned Ms. Larkin has started her chemotherapy. She's in a lot of pain and keeps asking for you."
