Crises in Love (Zora and Jaylan) -
Chapter 491
The scene was horrifying. Clara's body toppled backward, a macabre fountain of blood spraying everywhere. A ghastly scream tore through the silence, "You killed her..."
Their mother's cry was cut short as she collapsed onto the bed, fainting dead away.
Zora seemed to be in shock from the grisly sight before her, stumbling backward until she thudded against the doorframe.
Even the camera shook with the chaos of the moment.
Zora ranted incoherently, "...just die! You should've been dead ages ago! Trying to have Jerome off me, well think again! You brought this on yourself, haunting me down. I paid you every month, and you still wanted me dead, you brought this on yourself! It's not on me... I gave you your dues, and this is the thanks I get?!"
Her words were a jumbled roar of rage, and it was only then I noticed the knife in her hand. She despised Clara that much, extinguishing her vibrant life in an instant.
Moments before, Clara was laughing, screaming, but now she lay silent in a pool of blood, looking even more frail.
At last, she was free of her demons.
Indeed, Clara's final struggle was like a dance with death.
The drunk man who had been knocked out cold was coming to, grunting and blinking in confusion. When he saw the carnage, he swore, "You monster... you've killed... murdered!" He tried to rise, but fell back down, cursing and struggling.
Perhaps his insults were the last straw for Zora, who lunged at him, shouting, "You old brute, it's all because of you... your very existence shames me. Go join her in death!"
With that, she plunged the knife into him repeatedly, the man's body convulsing until Zora collapsed from exhaustion, her gaze empty and breath ragged.
The old woman on the bed let out a groan, snapping Zora out of her daze. She turned to look, her face ashen with horror.
"You... you've killed people!" her mother uttered with a trembling voice.
Zora pleaded desperately, "They had it coming... I didn't want to, but they wouldn't let me live. Don't you see?" Suddenly, she rounded on her mother, screaming without a shred of sanity, "It's all on you! You only cared about your own pleasure, and now we're paying the price!"
Zora's accusations turned into sobs, her face a mess of tears and blood.
"I asked you once who my father was, and you couldn't tell me. Just think about how many men you've been with. You're the reason for all of this!"
The old woman beat the bed's edge, "Karma... it's karma... You're a heartless beast, killing your own sister, having men rape her, and now this... why did you even come back..."
This seemed to remind Zora of something; she sprang up and bolted for the door, clearly intent on escape.
The camera jerked, perhaps to follow her, but as it moved, Zora ran back in and faced her mother, still wailing on the bed, "You think I'm heartless? Well, don't blame me for being ruthless. You can join them now. At least you'll have company. I won't have to come back here anymore. Let me send you off too!"
With another swift motion, the old woman's cries stopped abruptly.
Silence fell like a shroud; three lives snuffed out without a sound.
I was frozen with fear, barely able to breathe, let alone comprehend the cold-bloodedness of Zora, who killed as easily as one might swat a fly.
The ease with which she dealt that last blow to her mother was chilling. Was she even human?
I couldn't bear the thought that my Carl had been involved with such a person.
Suddenly, the camera shook violently-it seemed that the person filming was also fleeing in terror.
I remained paralyzed with fear, unable to snap out of the nightmare I had witnessed. My skin crawled at the thought of this real-life murder broadcast.
