Lacey's

P.O.V.

"I'm a mafia Don, Lacey and I'm the head of this familia...nothing and I mean NOTHING gets passed me, sweetheart"

Klayton said with a slight smirk and what he said next shocked the living crap out of me.

"I mean, who the hell do you think kept you and your kids safe all of these years and made sure nobody could find you, hmm?" What?.

I briefly looked up at my husband who looked just as confused as I was before I looked back at my cousin.

"What are you talking about, Klay?"

I ask and he sighs as he runs a hand through his hair.

"Six years ago, I received a phone call from that eccentric and animated grandmother of yours who told me what hac happened between you, Luca and that gobshite Dylan, she also told me that you had run away from home and she wanted me to find you and keep you safe which I did and I made sure to keep you well hidden from your family who unbeknownst to you Lacey, were just this close to finding you"

Klayton said while showing me how close they were with two of his fingers.

"What? h.. how do you know that?"

"Because you weren't exactly being smart with your life choices considering how badly you wanted to remain hidden now where you, Lacey?" "What are you talking about? I did everything I could to keep myself and my kids safe"

"Yeah, you did and I commend you for changing your surname, Lacey but... did you never wonder why or how your application got accepted so fast?"

He says stumping me.

"What? no, it wasn't"

"Yeah, it was, think about it, kid"

He said and I had no choice but to think back to when I first applied to change my name.

Now that I think about it, my application was accepted unusually fast.

Normally, it takes around two months in the UK for you to legally change your name or at least that's what I found out when 1 researched it but my application was accepted after a week or two

Is this because of Klayton?.

I received the answer to my question when I looked up at my smug cousin who had a big, bright smile plastered on his face as he bit down on his lower lip.

"You... it was because of you, wasn't it?"

"Got it in one, kid"

I can't believe this little fucker.

"But what do you mean by my poor choices? Lacey is a very common girls name and the name Wright is also common, especially in the UK"

"Yeah but your children's names, Lace... LOGAN DAVID?

Dayton JAMES? Teddy LOUISE?"

"Not to mention, of all the bluddy places on the goddamn planet for you to run away to, you chose London, England for Christ's sake, the birthplace of your dad and your grandparents" "There's also your alter ego, Olivia James...you weren't exactly being inconspicuous with that one, were you,

Cassidy asks with a smirk.

"They've got a point, babe"

Logan said and I glared at him.

"Don't look at me like that, baby, you weren't exactly being subtle"

"What is this? gang up on Lacey month?"

I growl and Logan chuckles as he wraps his arm around my waist and kisses my temple.

"Of course not, kid, I just wanted you to know that for someone who wanted to be hidden, you were doing an awful lot to draw attention to yourself"

"Well, I may not like my family right now but I love my mon and dad and I wanted my kids to have their names, as for my eldest boy...

I drifted off with a smile on my face.

"I couldn't not name him after his father, he's his firstborn and heir after all"

"I feel you on that one sister"

Cassidy says with a lot of pain and sadness in her voice.

Klayton looks back at her and offers her a smile which she reciprocates but there was something about it that was different, it wasn't a happy smile but it wasn't a sad one either.

"As for London...well, I guess I didn't think about that one,was just so desperate to get away and I picked the first place that was suggested to me"

I said while shrugging my shoulders.

"So, all of this time you knew where she was and that she had my kids and you never said anything to me?"

Logan angrily asks my cousin.

"Yes I knew but I couldn't say anything because Duke and Bunny wanted nothing but peace and serenity for Lacey, they didn't want her disturbed until she was ready for it...I know you're my friend, Lo but she's my family at the end o the day and I was gonna protect her and put her, her children and her mental health before you and our friendship, I hope you understand that"

"Oh, I understand, my brother"

Logan said while holding his hand out for Klayton to shake which he happily accepted.

"There's nothing more important to me than my family and my wife's mental health...I'm not gonna lie and say it doesn't hurt that I missed out on watching my Lacey being pregnant with our babies or that I missed their births and missed five years of their lives because it does hurt but none of that can be changed now and I'd much rather look forward to our future together"

Aww, my man is so cute.

I stand up on my tippy toes and kiss Logan's lips much to the annoyance of my cousin who groaned in disgust.

"Alright, alright enough of that you two, urgh!!..let's go eat, I'm starving to death over here"

"Nothing new there then"

I say with a smirk earning a glare from Klayton and a chuckle from Cassie.

I blow him a kiss and chuckle as I walk out of the living area and head towards the dining room.

When I got there, I saw my three babies sitting in their normal seats.

Sabrina, Justin and their daughter were also sitting at the table, as well as two other guys, one of whom I recognised as Cassies older brother Benjamin but the other guy I couldn't place even though he looked very familiar to me. Oh god, what's his name?.

I thought to myself as I racked my brain for his name or at least something that may jog my memory of him.

"I'm sure you remember my brother-in-law Benjamin and one of my dear friends Connor, don't you, little cousin?" Connor, that's his name.

"Yeah, of course, hi guys, it's good to see you again"

"You too, how are you feeling?"

"I'm ok, thank you, Ben"

I say with a smile.

We all sit down and I quickly introduce my babies to our guests as our staff serve us our food

We talked about numerous different things during dinner including Klayton and Cassie's love story and how they ended up married and with a kid.

I was shocked at everything they had to go through to get their happy ever after but I wasn't surprised that they ended up back together because Klayton and Cassie are like Logan and 1, they're soulmates who were meant to be together. "Wow, what is it about London and us broken-hearted women aye?"

I ask and Cassie chuckles.

"I know, it's crazy that we both ended up there out of every country and city in the world"

She says with a smile while rolling her eyes.

"Well, I bet Tommy's ecstatic to see you guys back togethe again, he was always your number one fan, that one"

I say with a smile as silence fills the air.

I looked around the room feeling confused at the sudden silence and I was even more confused when I saw Logan, Klayton, Cassie, Benjamin, Connor and Justin with sad looks on their faces

"What? what's wrong? why do you all look so sad? did I say something I shouldn't?"

"Babe..."

Logan said but was interrupted by Klayton's son Cassius.

"Uncle Tommy died, pretty auntie, he's with the angels now

"What?"

I looked over at Klayton and Cassidy who looked both. angry and sad at their son's words.

"Klayton... what happened?"

My cousin briefly looks at his wife as he grabs hold of her hand and kisses the back of it, he then looks at me and I gasped slightly at the broken look in his eyes.

"Tommy died from brain cancer, principessa"

What the f**k?.

"What? when?"

"Almost a year ago now..he died on his birthday"

Oh my god.

I can't believe this.

I thought to myself as I covered my mouth with both of my hands.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't know"

"It's ok, kid"

I look down at my food with a heavy heart.

I can't believe Tommy is dead

He was such a sweet man and one hell of a prankster.... can't believe he's gone.

Ilooked up at my husband when I felt a comforting squeeze on my hand and I smiled back at him when I saw him smiling at me.

"Are you ok, little sis?"

Justin asks me and I smile at him reassuringly.

"Yeah I'm fine, Justin, I'm just in shock, that's all...he was s young and he was married, right?"

I ask Klayton who nods his head.

"And he had kids as well, cugina" Oh my god, the story gets worse.

I can't even begin to imagine what Tommy and his wife have had to go through, one knowing they were gonna die and leave their family behind remaining forever young to them while the other was forced to make new plans for the future without their beloved spouse in it. I'd hate to think about a life without my husband in it or one where I'd die and not get to see my babies grow up and become the wonderful human beings they're destined to be

It honestly breaks my heart to think about it if I'm being honest with you and my heart fully goes out to them and anyone else who is suffering the same fate as them.

I subconsciously narrowed my eyes to my three bundles who were all smiling at me, Teddy had even gently grabbed hold of my arm and snuggled closer to me to give me some comfort. "Don't be sad mummy and daddy or daddy's friends, I made cupcakes for after dinner but if you continue being sad then I'll have to bring them out now to cheer you all up' Teddy says and we all chuckle.

"She's definitely yours, kid, she knows how to cheer peopl up with only a few words"

Klayton says and I smile as I wrap my arm around my little girl pulling her closer to me.

"That's my girl, Klay"

I say proudly as I kiss Teddy's head.

"No, she's OUR girl, babe"

Logan said making my smile even bigger and brighter.

Yeah, she is.
