CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 639
The chief originally did not want any friction between them over this matter and planned to discuss it in detail with them. However, the director's words made him a bit embarrassed.
Nina had considered that Miranda might say something or play some tricks behind the scenes, but why did Nash get involved?
Naturally puzzled, Nina said, "So it was Mr. York who had objections to our drama series."
Nash's gaze finally landed on her, but to Nina, he seemed like a stranger. After their separation, he was no longer the Nash she knew. He now belonged to Miranda.
"Modern dramas are scrutinized more strictly by the broadcasting authority. Themes of violence and revenge are indeed not suitable for prime time as they affect the values of teenagers," Nash said coldly, directly criticizing their series. "I think your drama shouldn't just aim to thrill. Target audiences, especially impressionable teenagers, can be significantly influenced."
"That's impossible!" Nina retorted. "Our drama is about countering school violence and promoting positive values. How did it become a dark theme in your eyes? Are you deliberately targeting us?"
Nash replied indifferently, "There's no need for targeting. I'm just stating the facts."
"You say it so easily, but your words negate months of our hard work," Nina's emotions started to flare at his cold attitude.
"There's no need for this. Let's talk it over calmly," the chief interjected, trying to mediate. "Nina, the final decision is made by our committee. Nash merely pointed out some concerns. Don't blame him."
His words were meant to protect Nash and clarify the situation, but they had a significant impact on Nina.
"Sorry, Chief. We'll discuss this inside later, but I need to clarify something now." She looked at Nash and asked, "Mr. York, don't you have any personal motives? Miranda's drama is conveniently scheduled for prime time while ours is not. I've heard her drama series, which originally required six months to produce, was cut down to three months. It's hard not to suspect you're doing this on purpose."
She could not believe this was just a coincidence. Their series had just over twenty episodes, taking a few months to produce. But their fantasy drama, which should take over forty episodes, was already wrapped up at the same time. It did not add up.
"Nina, you're overthinking this!" Miranda interjected with a smile, "We were also rushing the schedule. Let's just say we were efficient. Besides, my boyfriend isn't the director, so how could he influence this?
"But I think you should reflect on your script issues. Claiming to oppose school violence while showing scenes that negatively impact youth," Miranda said with a faux smile but with biting words.
"You..." Nelly was furious at her words, ready to tear off her hypocritical facade.
Nina held her back, preventing her from acting impulsively. This was the broadcasting authority, and they could not afford to look bad.
Despite Miranda's infuriating comments, she managed to keep her composure. Looking at Miranda with a mocking smile, Nina said, "I hope your series, with such a rushed job done, doesn't disappoint the audience." Miranda, full of confidence, replied, "With such a strong and well-known series backing us, it's definitely better than a small-time production. Just wait and see!"
Nina shot back, "I hope you don't end up embarrassing yourself!"
The tension between the two was palpable, neither willing to back down.
Seeing the heated atmosphere, the chief said, "Nash, if there's nothing more, take them outside. We'll continue our discussion inside."
