CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 1750
Drawn by the commotion, Wilfred was attracted to the scene. His brows furrowed instantly as he took in the chaotic situation.
Wilfred strode over to Mrs. Stone and spoke calmly, "Mrs. Stone, please step down from the windowsill. This is far too dangerous. I'm the director of this hospital, and I assure you that we will thoroughly investigate this matter and give you a fair explanation. "If you act impulsively now, it won't solve the problem. It will only make things worse."
As he spoke, Wilfred subtly signaled to the nearby security guards. Understanding his cue, they inched closer to the windowsill, ready to act at the right moment.
Wilfred then turned to face Mr. Stone.
"Mr. Stone, pressuring Dr. Karina like this is unreasonable before the matter has been properly investigated. We can't assign blame based on one-sided claims. It goes against both the law and the principles of fairness."
Mr. Stone scoffed. "Dr. Wilfred, don't be fooled by that woman. We saw with our own eyes that she caused this to happen to my son."
Wilfred remained composed and responded, "I understand your feelings, but the hospital has its protocols, and the police will be involved in the investigation. The truth will come to light.
"Dr. Karina has always had an excellent record here. We can't jump to conclusions without evidence."
He then turned to address the hospital administrators.
"Until the police arrive, let's not panic or blindly accuse Dr. Karina. Everything should be based on facts, and we must cooperate fully with the investigation."
The administrators exchanged uneasy glances. Though some remained displeased, Wilfred's authoritative tone left them no choice but to nod in agreement. Wilfred turned back to the Stones.
"Mr. and Mrs. Stone, I understand your concern and care for Kieran, but extreme actions like these won't resolve anything.
"I will personally oversee this matter and arrange for the best medical team to conduct a thorough examination to find out what caused Kieran's condition.
"If Dr. Karina is found at fault, I guarantee she will be held accountable. But if she is innocent, we cannot let her be wrongfully accused."
Mrs. Stone, soothed by Wilfred's
steady reasoning, began to calm et
down. With the assistance of the security guards, she slowly climbed down from the windowsill.
Though Mr. Stone's expression remained stormy, his aggressive demeanor softened slightly.
Karina, her face streaked with tears, lifted her head and looked at Wilfred with gratitude.
Wilfred gently patted her shoulder in silent reassurance.
What seemed like a simple gesture of comfort, however, took on a different meaning in the eyes of the Stones.
"Oh, so this is why you refuse to marry my son!" Mr. Stone accused, his voice dripping with venom. "You're having an affair with the director! "You shameless pair! Are you conspiring to harm my son together?"
Horrified, Karina quickly defended herself. "You've misunderstood! Dr. Wilfred is only trying to ensure fairness. There's nothing improper between us."
But the Stones refused to listen. To them, Karina's denial and Wilfred's support only served as further "proof" of their accusations.
Wilfred frowned, his tone turning stern. "Mr. and Mrs. Stone, such baseless speculation and slander are entirely inappropriate.
"As the hospital director, I promise
that we will uncover the truth. If Dr. Karina is found guilty, she will face the necessary consequences. But until then, I ask you to refrain from making groundless accusations and causing unnecessary chaos."
Despite Wilfred's firm stance, the Stones were relentless.
