CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 1537
"Don't beg me. If begging worked, I'd have begged Ben not to leave a long time ago," Winnie said as she wiped away the tears at the corner of her eyes.
"Here's the deal. I called to make one thing clear. Everything you owe me, I'm going to take back, bit by bit, through Charlie. He's your son, and they say the sins of the mother fall on the child." With that biting remark, Winnie hung up without hesitation. Clutching her phone, her chest ached with a deep, lingering pain.
The masked man approached, standing by her side. "Winnie, what's the point of all this? You're clearly full of hate for Jamie, but instead of taking it out on her, you're here looking after her kid. I don't get you sometimes.
"If it were me," he continued, "I'd grab this opportunity and make her suffer. Why are you holding back?"
Winnie shook her head. "Charlie calls me his aunt, and besides, it's not right to blame a child for the mistakes of adults."
She might despise Jamie, but Winnie couldn't bring herself to abandon her principles.
The masked man's gaze turned sharp as he pressed further. "Sure, the kid's innocent. But what about your child? The one you lost? Shouldn't that matter more than someone else's kid?"
"Enough!" Winnie snapped, turning to leave. "This is my choice, and I don't need your input."
Watching her walk away, the masked man's eyes darkened with unspoken thoughts.

Meanwhile, Jamie was drowning in worry for Charlie. Her anxiety had reached a breaking point.
As she tried to leave her room, the door opened, and an unfamiliar woman walked in carrying a tray.
"Miss Lewis," the woman said with a smile, "I made you some nourishing soup. It's good for your recovery. Please drink it while it's warm."
"I'm not interested. Take it back," Jamie replied flatly. Her mind was entirely consumed with thoughts of her son.
The woman, having been paid generously for her services, wasn't about to give up. She stepped closer, blocking Jamie's way. Her smile remained, but her tone carried an undercurrent of insistence. "Miss Lewis, this soup is really for your own good. I spent over three hours preparing it in the kitchen. Can't you show a little appreciation and drink it?"
Jamie wasn't having it.
She had never seen this woman before, let alone asked her for anything. Yet here she was, insisting Jamie drink the soup she had made and guilt-tripping her for refusing, as if saying no would make her some kind of ungrateful villain. The whole thing was absurd.
"Let's get one thing straight," Jamie said, her voice, firm. "You're an adult. You're free to spend your time however you like, including making soup. But I'm also free not to drink it. I'm not hungry, and unless you're planning to pry my mouth open and pour it down my throat, it's not happening."
Sure, Jamie couldn't stand up to Ben right now, but that didn't mean just anyone could come in and dictate her life. She wasn't about to let herself be pushed around.
The woman's smile stayed in place,
but her tone grew sharper. "You make a valid point, Miss Lewis, but let me remind you that this is the
Lucas family estate. While you set
staying here, you're expected.

follow the rules. And just so you
know, I wasn't the one who decided to make this soup. I was told to."
