In the private room , Sienna sat across from the man .

The man was staring at her intently , as if he feared she might vanish if he so much as blinked . 

“ Sienna ,” the ma began softly , “ this is the third time we’ve met .

Sienna froze .

“ What’s going on Why are the police here ? She cast a quick glance at the man across from her .

His face turned pale as panic set in “ Damn if ” The man muttered under his breath as he shot to his feet .

Everyone knew that when the police showed up , even minor issues could morph into major ones .

Even if they’d done nothing wrong , they’d be dragged to the police station for questioning

She thought , This man , is always clanning to love and care for me , but the moment trouble comes , his first thought is always himself .

She smirked , her voice suddenly mocking.

“ Relax , I’m just teasing .

Why are you so nervous ? Then , with a sudden shift in tone , she turned her back on him .

The intensity of his anger stunned her .

Sienna thought , He looks like a husband catching his wife red – handed in an affair .

“ Look what you’ve done ! ” Josiah sneered , raising his hand .

At his signal , the officers behind him surged into the room . 

They searched thoroughly but came up empty – handed . 

One of them said , “ No one ! ” 

Another one asked , “ Just her ? ” 

Others were confused , “ How is that possible ? ” 

Josiah’s disbelief was evident .

Yeins bulged on his forehead as his eyes scanned the room like a hawk Finally , after searching personally , he had no choice but to accept the truth : there was no one else there , 

“ Where is he ? ” he demanded , turning to Sienna .

Then , his lips curled into a bitter smile .

His tall figure cast a long shadow over her as he stood . 

For a brief moment , Sienna felt a sense of relief But then- 

“ Hey , you ! ” One of the officers approached her .

“ You’re coming with us to the station ! ” 

“ What ? ” Sienna’s eyes widened in disbelief .

The office continued , “ We suspect you’re involved in illegal activities .

Come with us to clear things up .

” 

“ Illegal activities ? ” Sienna’s voice cracked as the accusation sank in .

“ No ! ” she exclaimed , shaking her bead in panic .
