Chapter 28

“Okay. Let me think…” Realizing what was at stake, Sienna didn’t hesitate. After a moment’s thought. Sienna grinned, “How about you treat me to some muttins from Seasonal Bakery!”

“What?” Josiah paused and raised an eyebrow, surprised. “Are you

sure!

Why not?‘ Sienna thought. She nodded confidently. “Yes, I’m sure?”

Seasonal Bakery was a local legend in Jelacrity, known for serving breakfast only and selling out fast every day. Once they were out of stock, customers had to wait until the next morning. That kind of scarcity didn’t come cheap.

Having lived abroad for four years, Sienna hadn’t had these muffins in ages. Even now that she was back, she couldn’t really afford them. Her request for a “thank–you gift” was genuine.

Josiah chuckled, amusement dancing in his eyes. “You better be certain–this is a one–time offer. Miss it, and it’s gone forever.” She could have asked him for mancy, property, or something extravagant.

“Yeah, I’ve thought it through,” Sienna confirmed, not wavering. She added, “I’ll take the blueberry muffins, please.”

“Alright then” Josiah agreed, shrigging. He’d offered her the chance, and since she was set on it, he felt no obligation. “Tomorrow morning, once Grandma is stable, I’ll take you there.””

“It’s a deal,” Sienna said, a smile breaking across her face.

The next morning, Miranda’s condition had stabilized. The doctor came for an early check–up and confirmed everything was fine.

“You two have been up all night. You can go rest now. During the day, she’ll have special care, and regular treatment will be enough, the doctor said

Josiah and Sienna hadn’t slept at all, so they gially accepted the offer. After making sure Miranda was settled, they left together. As promised. Josiah drove Sienna to Seasonal Bakery.

There was no driver, and Zach and the others lodni tagged along. So, when they arrived, Josiah got out of the car to buy the muffins himself

“I’ll come too,” Sienna said, stepping out with him while unconsciously biting her lip “The muffins are best when they’re fresh from the oven. She swallowed, her mouth already watering in anticipation.

Josiah noticed her eagerness and couldn’t help but chuckle. Don’t worry, you’ll get your fill. Let’s go, be said, leading the way.

They weren’t the first ones there, but they weren’t late either. There was still a line to wait in. “You wait here, I’ll stand in line. Josiah offered.

“Okay,” Sienna replied, settling down at a table. She watched eagerly as Josiah moved up in line. Counting down on her fingers, the murmured. “Five left… four to go….

Finally, it was Josiah’s turn. He paid and grabbed the muffins, grinning when he saw there were only three blueberry muffins left. Luckily, Seasonal Bakery’s mullins were pretty big, and he assumed these should be enough for Sienna.

He scanned the crowd and, just then, Sienna spotted him. She jumped up and rushed over. Did you get them?”

Josiah nodded and started heading her way. Suddenly, a voice called out, halting him mid–stride.

“Mr. Flynn! Oh, it’s really you.” Janet’s eyes sparkled with recognition, and she gestured outside. “Yvette’s in the car. For here to grab some muffins for her.”

Then she complained, “Yvette wants blueberry muffins, but they were all sold out by the time I got there. You know how picky she is–she won’t eat anything but those.

“We have a whole morning of shooting planned, and if she doesn’t eat it’s going to cause a real headache-

Suddenly, Janet paused and looked at Josiah, her eyes landing on the paper bag in his hand. “Mr. Flynn, are you here to buy muffins tool”

“Yeah” Josiah’s charming face showed a hint of awkwardness, especially with Sienna just a few steps away.

“What llavor did you get?

I get?” Janet asked, either carelessly or without thinking.

Josh frowned but didn’t respond.

Janet’s eyes flicked to the bag and saw the words. “Oh! Blueberry muslina!”

Chapter 28

For the first time, Josiah felt annoyed at how attentive the service at Seasonal Bakery was

“Janet?” Wene, probably tired of waiting in the car, came over wearing sunglasses and a mask. “Is it really taking that long to buy some muffins?”

Then she spotted Josiah and Sienna Josiah, Sienna, did you come here for breakfast too?”

“Yeah,” Josiah nodded.

Janet quickly chimed in, “Yvette, the blueberry muffins are sold out. But Mr. Flynn got some. She shot a glance at Josiah, hinting that he might give them to Yvette.

Yvette raised an eyebrow, curious. “You actually got the blueberry ones! But you don’t like those, do you? I thought chocolate was your favorite!”

They had grown up together, so she knew Josiah wasn’t fond of fruits. ‘Blueberry means fruits, so why would he bay them for himself? Could it be… she thought and blurted out, “You bought them for someone else? For Sienna, right?”

“Yeah,” Josiah admitted. “She stayed up all night with Grandma and hasn’t eaten anything this morning”

Yvette understood and chuckled. Sienna, you should eat quickly before they get cold. I need to rush to the set.”

Without waiting for Josiah to say anything, she grabbed Janet “Let’s go

Janet complained, “Yvene! Why didn’t you just let Mr. Flynn give the muttins to you? If you asked, he’d definitely agree.”

“You talk too much. Let’s move.

“I’m just looking out for you. You’ll be hungry until lunch if you don’t eat.”

Josiah overheard their conversation and thought to himself that if Howard were well, he would never let Yvette go hungry. He glanced at Sienna,

who was still waiting, and said, “I’ll get you more.”

With that he burned after Yvette, calling out “Ivene.”

Yvette paused and looked at him, confused. “What’s up?”

Josiah handed her the bag. “Here you go. How can you get through the moming without eating You need to take care of yourself”

“But Yvette hesitated, reluctant to accept it. “What about Sienna?”

Josiah chuckled, clearly unfazed. There are other muffins. I’ll get some for her later. She won’t starve.”

“Well… Jerome still hesitated.

“Just take it.” Josiah gently held her hand and placed the bag in her palm.

Yvette smiled, “Alright then. I’ll head out now. I’m in a bit of a rush. See you”

“Okay,” Josiah replied, watching Yvette leave. He then turned to Sienna. “I’ll grab some more for you. I’ll just wait in line again.”

“No need,” Sienna reminded him, “Didn’t you remember? The blueberry muffins are all gone.”

Josiah frowned, annoyed. “Aren’t there other flavors? Are you really that picky? You can only eat blueberry muffins and nothing else?”

Sienna was momentarily taken aback, then let out a bitter laugh. ‘Mr. Flynn really knows how to play favorites

Yvelle can choose to only eat blueberry muffins, but when it comes to me, I’m the one being picky? Did he forget that the muffins he gave to appease Yvelle were originally a thank–you gift he promised to me?
