Chapter 152

Sienna went back to her room, which was on a different floor, two levels down from Cedric’s.

The elevator doors slid open as Sienna’s phone buzzed with a call from an unknown number from her hometown.

She hesitated for a moment, then answered. “Hello?

“Sienna,” the voice said, ringing a bell but Sienna couldn’t quite put her finger on it. “It’s Xenia”

Sienna’s heart skipped a beat at the name. She knew it couldn’t be good–Cedric had just shown up and now his mom was calling

“Mrs. Brawne.” Sienna said, her voice catching. “What’s the matter?”

“Got to talk in person. Can’t do it over the phone” Xenia answered.

A chill hit Sienna. “Mrs. Brawne, where are you at?”

“I’m at your hotel,” Xenia said straight out. “Meet me at the café. I’ll be there. Then she hung up.

Sienna held her phone tight, her forehead wrinkled. She knew this day would come. She knew this day would come. Deciding they had to face it she made up her mind to go over

Sienna entered the quiet cafe and save Xenia lounging by the window with sunglasses on, sipping coffee. She quickly walked over and greeted, “Mrs Braune

Xenia glanced up, sized Sienna up for a second, then ditched the sunglasses and pointed to the chair opposite her. “Take a seat,” she Zuid.

‚“Thanks,” Sienna said, pulling up a chair.

“Need a drink?” Xenia asked, all smiles.

“Nah, I’m good.” Sienna said, shaking her head

“My treat,” Xenia said with a little grin. “Don’t be so stiff. We’re just here to chat, not duke it out Let me order for you.”

Before Sienna could get a word in, Xenia snagged the waiter’s attention. “Hey, can I get a hot out late over here?”

“Coming right up, the waiter said.

“Appreciate it. Mrs. Brawne, Sienna said.

“No prob,” Xenia said, still smiling but sounding a bit sheepish. “Our last get–together was a bit rocky, I was way too short–tempered and a real jerk, probably gave you a scare. Hoping you can let bygones be bygones”

“Tri okay” Sienna waved her hand dismissively. “What you said was spot–on. I won’t dwell on IL”

“Is that so?” Xenia’s eyes lit up. “So, if you agree with me, that means you and Cedric are done for, right?”

The waiter showed up then, placing a coffee cup in front of Sienna. “Here’s your out late,” he said.

Thanks,” Sienna uid, holding the cup but not drinking.

Kenta squinted just a bit, almost imperceptibly. “Go ahead, have a sip. Let’s tall this through”

“Alright,” Sienna picked up the cup and took a couple of sips. She’d already been running some thoughts through her head on the way

She pursed her lips, looked up, and locked eyes with Xenia. “Look, I know I’m not on Cedric’s level in a lot of ways, but… I can’t make any promises.”

“What do you mean?” Xenia’s smile froze, her expression changing.

“I reckon Siena said slowly, “you’re here because you couldn’t talk Cedric around, right?”

Xenia shut down, her face turning a strange bur

Sienna sow she’d hit the mark. Cards was standing them with his family, and he treated Sienna as his top priority.
