Chapter 142

Brenda walked into the restaurant, arm in arm with a wealthy woman, both laughing and charting. They headed straight for a private dining room.

Sienna didn’t want to make a scene, so she quickly drank the orange juice despite her confusion. “Happy now?” she asked.

“Absolutely.” Nina said with a smirk. “You’re really big–hearted.” She turned away, a sly smile on her face.

When Brenda glanced over, everything seemed fine. The woman with her was Queenie. Thomas’s mom. Queenie pointed at Sienna. “Is that the g

Mr. Flynn mentioned?”

“Yep Brenda nodded with a smile. “She’s got real talent. She’s going to be a big star in the Lightning Dance troupe.”

“Really?” Queenie looked relieved. That’s great. Let’s eat. Em starving”

“Let’s go, Brenda agreed

Rosie was jolted awake by some weird noises. She broke into a cold sweat, her heart pounding.

In the dead of night, Rost

She flipped on the light and saw Sienna curled up on the bed next to her, clutching her blanket. It was Sienna making those strange sounds

“Sienna.” Rosie said, leaping out of bed and rushing over. “What’s going on? Are you feeling sick?”

Sienna was drenched in sweat, her face scrunched up as she clutched her stomach. Suddenly, she shot up and dashed to the bathroom. She’d been in and out of the bathroom all night before Rosie woke up, and now she was left with painful stomach cramps.

“Sienna. I’m coming in Rosie called, pushing open the bathroom door. She handed Sienna a towel to wipe her face. “Is it a stomachache?” “Yeah” Sienna nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. She looked embarrassed. Im fine. Just leave me be

“Why be embarrassed?” Rosie asked. “You’re not feeling well. It’s not like you did this on purpose. How are you really feeling? Tell me

Sienna hesitated, wanting to downplay it, but she finally admitted, “Not good, my stomach’s cramping really badly”

“No. You can’t just tough this out, Rosie frowned and quickly got up. Tll check with the hotel. They might have some medicine.”

“Thanks.” Sienna said, her voice weak.

“No problem. We all get sick sometimes, Rosie said, waving it off as she headed out.

She called the front desk, and they told her, “We have some over–the–counter medicine here. We’ll send it up right away”

“Great, thanks” Rosie replied.

Impatient, Rosie opened the door and waited right outside. In a few minutes, a hotel staff member arrived with the medicine.

Right then, the door next to theirs opened, and Brenda stepped out. “Rosie, what’s going on?”

“Ms. Scott Rosie explained, holding the medicine. “Sienna ate something that didn’t agree with her. She’s been to the bathroom a bunch and now has really bad stomach cramps. I got her some medicine.”

“Really?” Brenda said, stepping closer. “Let me see her

“Sure” Rosie

Inside, Brenda Law Sienna lying on the bed, looking pale and weak. She gently touched Sienna’s forehead. “Take your medicine and get some rest. If you’re still not feeling better, let Rosie know, and she’ll tell me.”

Thanks, Ms. Scott, Sienna said.

“Don’t mention it, honey. Just ta

take your medicine and get some sleep. I won’t disturb you, Brenda said, patting her shoulder gently

Brenda headed back to the room she was sharing with Queenie. Queenie had come to see Brenda’s performance but got caught in a typhoon.

Seeing Brenda’s worried look, Queenie asked, “What’s wrong! Did something happen?”

“Yeah,” Brenda said, frowning. “Sienna’s got a really bad stomachache. It’s pretty serious, and I’m not sure if the medicine will help

If the medicine doesn’t work, getting her to a hospital in this weather could be tough.

“Don’t worry

y too much. Young people bounce back.” Queenie said when her phone rang. She looked at it, amused and exasperated, and answered, “Sweetheart, do you know what time it is! You’re calling me now?

“Sorry, sorry, my bad” Thomas’s voice came from the other end. He was abroad and needed a favor from his mom. “Mom, can you check the study

for ne

“Can’t do it,” Queenie replied. I’m not at home: I’m in Harbwood with Brenda.”

Thomas replied. “Oh, I see. I’ll call Dad then..

“Thomas, Queenie stopped him before he hung up. “By the way, Sienna’s not feeling great. She’s got some stomach issues Josiah should know about it, right?!”

Thomas thought, I don’t think he probably has the right to know

Queenie then smiled, “I’m just being nosy; is there any way to be sure? Do you think someone can just fly into Harbwood now? The roads are all blocked. I’m hanging up now. Just call your dad.”

Thomas sat on the other end, phone in hand, deep in thought. After a while, he made another call.

“Hello!” After a long pause, Josiah’s usual laid–back voice came through. “What’s going on in the middle of the night!”

Thomas hesitated and then said honestly, “Uh… Sienna is in Harbwood right now..”

Josiah chuckled, “Are you serious! I already know that.”

“Do you know she’s got a stomach bug?” Thomas was annoyed. “Can you just listen for once!”

“What Josiah’s voice immediately turned serious, “She’s sick

“Yeah” Thomas said. “My n

‘mom just went there for Brenda’s show. She told me.”

That meant this must be true. Josiah, holding the phone, threw off the covers and got out of bed.

“After I call you, I’ll also let Cedric know, Thomas continued. “We’re all friends, right? No favorites”

Who would win Sienna’s heart depended on their own skills.

“Alright, got it,” Josiah gritted his teeth.

He hung up, quickly changed clothes, and called Zach. “Zach, come over to the Flynn place. Bring your helicopter license”

Zach replied, “Okay, Mr. Flynn”

Josiah knew the roads were closed due to the storm in Harbwood Driving was out of the question, but he and Zach could fly a helicopter. The Flynn family owned one, thanks to his brother Howard.

Cedric was already in Harbwood, giving Josiah a disadvantage. Sienna’s safety was top priority, but he still wanted to get there before Cedric Meanwhile, Cedric received a call from Thomas. “Hey, Thomas?” he said.

“Cedric, listen up… Thomas continued.

At the hotell, Sienna took some medicine, praying it would help. But the pain in her stomach just got worse. Rosie paced anxiously by the bed. “Sienna, this isn’t working. We need to get you to a hospital. I’ll go find Ms. Scott”
