Chapter 137
Rosic pointed at the pearls on the headband. “Look, Tayitian pearls, quite nice quality. For a headband, though, they’re a bit small.”
“Really expensive?” Sienna asked.
“These few pearls would be at least 300 dollars on the market.” Rosie estimated. She glanced at Sienna with curiosity and asked, “Didn’t you buy it yourself?”
“No.” Sienna shook her head. She couldn’t bring herself to buy something like that. If she’d known Josiah got something so expensive, she wouldn’t have accepted it.
Before each evening’s show, the dance crew would eat dinner in advance. Before applying makeup, Sienna and Rosie decided to grab some food at the shopping street nearby.
On their way back, they spotted Cedric’s tall figure under the streetlamp from afar He was holding a bag and looking longingly at Sienna as she slowly approached.
Rosie glanced at Sienna and said, “I’ll go in first.”
“Okay,” Sienna nodded. With no way to avoid it, she walked right up to Cedric and stopped in front of him, slightly frowning. “You…”
Just then, Cedric lifted the bag in his hand, filled with desserts from Tasty Bites. “Here.”
Sienna didn’t take it and sighed helplessly, “Cedric, do you really want to turn me into someone I dislike?”
“Don’t be angry,” Cedric said cautiously, watching her closely. “I just wanted to come and see you.”
“Cedric-
“I have to leave Jeiacrity tonight,” Cedric interrupted her quickly, worried she might say something hurtful. “I won’t be able to visit you every day anymore.”
What did he mean? Sienna was slightly taken aback. “Where are you going?”
Cedric noticed the concern in her eyes and smiled gently. “I’ve found a job. It’s with a company run by a classmate, and I’ll be joining as a technical partner.” Without his family’s backing, he only had his own abilities.
“It’s a small company, just starting out, and we have very few employees,” Cedric explained. “So there’s a lot of work to do. I need to go to Harbwood to meet with a couple of partners.”
Sienna was taken aback. She hadn’t expected Cedric to jump into work so quickly. He, who usually lived like a pampered prince, had suddenly gone from living in luxury to struggling in a cramped, rundown apartment.
Yet, he didn’t even take a moment to complain. He lived there without a word of bitterness, quietly moving forward on his own path.
“Sienna,” Cedric said, his eyes shining with determination. “I know exactly what I’m doing. I don’t need my family to live well. I won’t give up on myself or you.”
Sienna’s lips parted, but she couldn’t get a single word out.
“Here” Codric said, taking her hand and placing the bag in it. “I have to catch the train. I’ll come see you when I’m back.”
With that, he let go of her hand, smiled, and stepped back. “I’m off.”
As he turned away, Sienna closed her eyes, feeling tears welling up. He’s so remarkable–always humble when he’s on top, and never self–pitying when he’s down. Now wander Mrs. Brawne wouldn’t want me to get close him–I might drag him down.
That performanor was over. While removing her makeup, Sienna held the pearl hairband–she almost forgot it. She took out her phone and sent Jonas message: [How much for the pearl hairband? I’ll transfer it to you

Chapter 137
Is Sienna trying to pay me back? Did she realize how I feel and is she rejecting me?‘ He quickly turned to Zaid and instructed, “Zaid, go find the Lightning Dance.”
“Okay, Zaid replied.
As they nearly arrived, Josiah finally picked up his phone to reply: [I’m almost at Lightning Dance. Let’s talk in person if there’s anything.]
‘He’s almost here? Is he just passing by?‘ Sienna was confused. She didn’t think much about it and left Lightning Dance with Rosie. “Thanks for having me these past few days, Rosie. I can go home tonight.”
“Don’t be so polite? Anytime you need help, just come to me,” Rosie smiled.
As they left the main gate, Sienna saw Josiah leaning against the car door, waiting for her. “Rosie, I’m heading out now,” she said.
“Alright,” Rosic nodded.
Sienna jogged over to Josiah, slightly out of breath, and got straight to the point with her phone in hand. “How much?”
Josiah frowned, his tone somewhat deep. “I’m not here for the money.”
So why is he here?‘ Sienna was surprised and looked up at him. She paused for a moment and then understood. “I get it. You just bought it casually, right? To you, this headband might be like a small expense, but to me, it’s invaluable.”
“Wait a moment.” Josiah’s eyes darkened. “Do you think I just bought this on a whim?”
Sienna paused. ‘Isn’t it?‘
“Yeah, I just bought it on a whim.” Josiah laughed out of anger, pressing his tongue against his teeth. His chest felt a sharp pang.
When Sienna said she would pay him, he thought she was refusing to accept his gesture. But when she mentioned he bought it on a whim, he pictured himself holding her cheap headband, trying to find a similar one, and it felt downright foolish.
What’s more depressing than rejection? It’s her not sensing my intentions at all. She never even thought I bought it specifically for her, Josiah thought bitterly.
“Josiah Sienna watched his fluctuating expressions and was confused.
“What” Josiah snapped back to reality, a flicker of pain crossing his eyes.
“Well…” Sienna reminded him, “You still haven’t told me how much it is.”
Josiah didn’t answer. Instead, he asked, “Did it ever occur to you…” But he didn’t finish his sentence. In his heart, he continued, “That I specifically got the hairband just like yours for you?”
“Occur to me what?” Sienna blinked in confusion.
“Nothing” Josiah shook his head, his Adam’s apple bobbing prominently. Then he casually tossed out a number, “60 dollars.”
Sienna subconsciously nodded, then suddenly jerked in surprise. “What did you say?” She thought, ‘Did he get it wrong? Rosie said it should be at least 300 dollars!
“Didn’t catch that?”
“No, just that cheape
“Why are you asking so many questions?” Josiah frowned, looking somewhat impatient. “I bought it, didn’t I? If you want to transfer it, do it; if not, then forget at I don’t have time to argue about 60 dollars!
“Aingha Sarana replied helplessly. She picked up her phone and sent him 60 dollars.
