Chapter 47 Lela Speaks
At that moment, Finley realized she had lost completely.
No, she hadn't really lost because she didn't even have the qualifications to lose.
Sylvester glanced at the five red fingerprints on the left side of Finley's face, paid no further attention to her, and simply carried Lela outside. "Mildred, clean up," he ordered. "Yes, sir."
There was no need for him to dirty his hands for someone as insignificant as Finley.
Trenton looked at Finley with a lost and dejected expression. "Why did you do this?" he asked, then took his sister Eleanor and left.
Burl turned and walked away as well.
He had many actresses under his company and was constantly around women of all sorts, so he had seen all types. As for someone like Finley, he truly looked down on her. What audacity she had to offend Master Sylvester.
The crowd dispersed...
...
In the car, Lela was full of energy, smacking her lips as if she hadn't eaten enough, showing no signs of wanting to sleep at all.
Sylvester leaned back on the rear seat, contemplating the recent events, and looked at her with interest. "Little one, were you pleading for them?" he asked.
Just as he was about to take action, she jumped out, saying she wanted to sleep.
How coincidental the timing was.
Lela sat on his lap and shook her head in response.
Those two insignificant people were already dealt with after they acted so arrogantly. She didn't want Sylvester to get into trouble because of her. Those two, hmph! What fools they were to play these games with her, using such pathetic means. They really weren't worth her attention.
Sylvester didn't argue either. He raised his hand and covered her earlobe. Too delicate, he couldn't help but pinch it lightly.
Lela evaded his touch and nestled into Sylvester's embrace.
During the auction at Balthazar, the little one's charm was extraordinary. However, he didn't think so.
Now, it seemed that this little one was indeed extraordinary.
In her heart, Lela cursed Sylvester over and over again.
What a despicable man.
Sylvester didn't tease her anymore. He held her shoulders with both hands and pushed her back slightly, his deep gaze fixed on her, carrying a darkness that could devour everything.
"Little one, you should explain why she said you cursed at her?" he said, carefully observing Lela's expression.
To be honest, he didn't think Finley would dare to lie in front of him. Upon closer scrutiny, the incident had so many loopholes.
When Lela went to the bathroom, he occasionally paid attention.
Lela had spent more than twenty minutes in there before Eleanor went in.
It was clear that the slap mark on Finley's face had been there for some time and couldn't have been from Eleanor, who had only entered a minute or two ago.
So, besides the little one, no one else could have done it.
The little one wouldn't resort to violence for no reason; Finley must have provoked her with words.
Lela's heart sank. She knew how Sylvester observed and how his mind calculated things.
Sylvester would definitely not believe Eleanor's excuses. After all, he knew that Finley wouldn't dare lie to him, nor would anyone else for that matter. What should she do?
Lela was a Mutant, not that she couldn't speak, but the timing wasn't right, and she had to take it slowly. Now, it seemed like the right time. Lela took a deep breath, clenched her fist with her right hand, and uttered a single word from her core. "Hit."
Sylvester was initially startled, but after a moment of astonishment, his face was full of joy as he looked at Lela, his eyes filled with a smile. "Little one, you... spoke."
Lela looked at him with a perplexed gaze. Seeing how happy he seemed, she uttered another word, "Curse."
Sylvester curled his lips, pinched her chin, and raised an eyebrow. "You speak with such defiance, how adorable."
Lela waved her hands and happily uttered a few more words, "She curse, I hit."
Upon hearing this, the smile on Sylvester's lips gradually froze. At first, he thought Lela was just saying things casually, but now it seemed different. "Are you saying that she cursed at you, so you hit her?" Lela nodded.
