Chapter 245 Scarlett's Hunt

The years of combat experience told Trenton that there was a presence of wildlife.

Trenton's eagle-like eyes glanced over, only to see a deer suddenly spring out of the bushes.

It was large, lifting its head high with those towering antlers. It seemed unafraid of Trenton and Scarlett for its eyes fixed on them.

Initially, he was worried that it might be a fierce beast, Trenton pondered how to protect Scarlett if it were. However, to his surprise, it was just a deer.

Perfect, with no food around, the deer arrived just in time.

However, deers are small animals but highly sensitive and alert. While it didn't run off at the moment, any attempt to approach it would surely make it flee quickly.

As Trenton contemplated how to catch the deer, he prepared to put down Scarlett from his neck. Just as Trenton released Scarlett's delicate feet and before he could act, Scarlett suddenly opened her eyes wide.

Her eyes, full of cunning desire to hunt, glistened brightly. She supported herself by grabbing Trenton's shoulders, exerted force, and leaped down from Trenton, swiftly heading towards the deer.

By the time the deer realized the danger, it was too late to escape.

In almost an instant, Scarlett had pounced on the deer, pinning it down. She gripped the deer's neck with both hands and bit towards the artery in its neck.

Blood gushed out, splattering over Scarlett's face.

The pain drove the deer into a frenzy of struggle. Trenton, snapping out of his daze, knew Scarlett feared sharp knives, so he refrained from drawing his. He strode over, raised his hands, and forcefully smashed it down on the deer. The deer died on the spot. Its legs twitched briefly, and then it closed its eyes and passed away.

Trenton thought that once the deer was dead, Scarlett would get up.

However, Trenton saw Scarlett lying on top of the deer, holding its neck, and greedily sucking its blood.

Raw blood!

In the military, subordinates were trained to eat raw meat, given the jungle battlefield, where there was no time to cook. It was considered good enough to fill up one's stomach.

Yet Trenton had never witnessed such a bloody scene where Scarlett was directly drinking animal blood.

Trenton's handsome brows furrowed together, his handsome features tensed, and his face darkened. He raised his hands, used his distinct knuckles to grip Scarlett's mouth's raw meat, and said with his hoarse voice, "Spit it out." Scarlett whimpered and was unwilling to spit it out.

Scarlett was hungry and wanted to eat something.

Trenton's face turned serious. "You dare defy me?" he said in angrily.

Seeing Trenton genuinely angry, Scarlett opened her mouth and spat out the lump of raw meat.

Extending her pink tongue, she reluctantly licked the corners of her mouth.

Scarlett tilted her head, her eyes watery, and her right hand pressed against her abdomen. "Hungry," she said.

Hearing this, Trenton felt intense heartache seeing her like that.

Trenton didn't understand why he felt this heartache, but it was undeniably real.
