“I Love you too, babe. Don’t cry,” he said, holding her tightly to him and gently caressing her hair.

“I was only testing you. I had found a hair in the passenger seat of your car. Then you were watching those beautiful women dancing for you.

I thought you were having an affair,” Debbie explained in tears.

“A hair in the passenger seat?’ Carlos thought for a moment, puzzled and then he remembered something. ‘It must have been from Frankie’s girlfriend. ‘

He kissed Debbie’s hair and said, “I would never allow another woman to sit in the passenger seat when I’m driving. That seat belongs to you only. Reeve organized those dancers. I didn’t know anything about it.”

The farce was over. Carlos scooped Debbie up into his arms and carried her toward the door. When he passed Niles, he said coldly, “The woman on the bed is yours.”

“No, I don’t want her. I’m leaving too.”

Niles had only gone to the hotel to give the syringe to Debbie and to have some fun as well.
