Luckily Yvette was still little, so she wasn't as bothered anymore a couple of days later, though she would be down for a while when she recalled. Lauren was quite delighted by her daughter's innate optimism and generosity. Life returned to its former peacefulness after the episode. Apart from the occasional dreary midnights, Lauren was quite pleased with it all.

After coaxing Yvette to sleep, she quietly read a children's book for a while. A few months later, after this went completely quiet, maybe it was time she considered her future.

After tucking Yvette in, she tiptoed to switch off the lights before returning to bed, pulling her baby girl into her arms and slowly closing her eyes.

Willy went out for an event. After it ended, he unknowingly arrived near the kindergarten. The traffic wasn't horrible that day, but he slowed down unconsciously when he looked at the luxury cars lining up on both sides of the road.

The mischievous, gorgeous little girl then popped up in his mind, and before he knew it, he had stepped on the brakes and turned the steering wheel.

Remembering she had cried her eyes out because he had killed her snake, he suddenly thought he should make up for it. He didn't have anything in hand, so he looked around after getting off his car. Seeing a few shops not far from the entrance, he remembered there was a toy shop not far from the corner nearby, and he ran back around.

After walking around in the shop, Willy was at a loss, facing the variety of toys.

"Sir, is there anything you'd like to get? We have all sorts of toys here. Are you looking to get it for a boy or a girl? Something fancy or something more cost-effective? I can recommend some for you!"

"Girl! I want the best! She's about this tall, three, four years old!" Willy gestured excitedly, evidently overjoyed by the shopkeeper's offer.

He really hadn't a clue what little girls liked!

"Then how about these? Singing plush toys, cute teddies and bunnies in clothes are quite popular with little girls. Or you can get these rubber Barbie dolls; we have realistic ones; the workmanship and materials used are quite refined, close to food grade. They're quite popular with girls as well. And then there's the DIY type that can be assembled, like drawing, home, kitchen, cars, and other bigger kinds that parents can play with as well are popular with little girls too..."

Looking at all the options, Willy was still lost. These toys weren't small; he couldn't possibly take them all, could he? Then he suddenly recalled Elijah saying she had an affinity for cold things. After having a feel, he decided on an exquisite rubber-like Barbie doll and even deliberately got one in a pink dress, thinking she might like it, seeing it was the same color as her dress.

"I'll take this for now! Remove the box and wrap it into a present. Make it nice!"

Leaving the shop with the doll in his hand, Willy was quite delighted. He checked the time and quickened his pace, thinking it was about time the children left kindergarten.

Just as he rushed back, the children were coincidentally lining up to leave.

One glance and Willy immediately saw the little girl with pigtail braids, dressed in school uniform, carrying a pink bottle. He didn't know why, but despite everyone wearing the same clothes, he could immediately identify her in the crowd at a glance. He walked over to her, waving the doll in his hand.

"Little girl..."

He called out but seeing no one responded to him he raised his voice. "Little witch!"

Yvette saw him as she subconsciously turned sideways, pouting. "Hmph..."

Right then, another childish voice came.

"You're talking nonsense, Yvette. Uncle is Uncle; Daddy is Daddy; how can Uncle be Daddy? My daddy is the most handsome, even more handsome than yours! You don't even have a daddy; your mommy is lying to you!"

"You're talking nonsense! I have a Daddy. He's just busy! Uncle Daddy is also my daddy. My mommy is the prettiest, so my daddy is also the most handsome! Don't talk nonsense if you don't know! I don't want to talk to you. You're the one who doesn't have a daddy! At least I have Uncle Daddy!"

Willy saw a bunch of kids gathered together arguing about something when he got close. But just as he was about to speak, a tiny figure charged and pounced on him.

"Daddy..."

Fleur?

Was she also in this kindergarten?

He had seen her a few times at her home. But her sudden appearance this time had really shocked Willy. Before he came back to his senses, the little girl had already hugged his leg and pulled the toy over

"Daddy, are you here to pick me up? Is this for me?

So pretty!"

Before he could even make a sound, a few children had gathered around him, and Fleur turned around, looking all smug.

"Who says I don't have a Daddy? He's here to pick me up! My daddy's the most handsome and loves me the most. He even got me a new toy! Hmph..."

He had been to Cloud's home a few

times, and because of Dory, he had gotten to know Fleur as well. Willy would bring her toys every now and then. Because they met often, plus Dory kept calling him Daddy, this little one, who didn't know better, naturally learned from her older sister. So Willy had gotten used to her calling him Daddy, not taking it seriously. Thinking it was just amongst the children, he didn't refute, worried that he'd hurt her feelings.

But little did he know Fleur's address to him made Yvette dislike him even more.

A child's love and hate were very straightforward!

Because she didn't like Fleur, she naturally hated Fleur's father too!

Right then, a parent called out, "Rhett, time to go..."

Following that, the children dispersed one after another.

Only Fleur and Yvette were left then. The two girls were still upset, not friendly with each other. Willy then got down to their eye level, wanting to mediate. "Fleur, what happened? Did you two fight?"

Pursing her lips, Fleur snorted coldly and held the doll tightly as she leaned closer to him.

Seeing that she wouldn't say

anything, Willy looked over at the

gorgeous little girl in front of him

and noticed her gaze was on the doll he chose, seemingly liking it as well.

"Little witch?"

He had wanted to suggest buying her another one, but who would've thought an angry, childish voice came at him just when he began teasing her.

"I'm not a little witch! You're a horrible bad man!"

With that, Yvette ran away, carrying her backpack, with a flushed face, evidently angry.
