Alpha’s Tormented Slave Mate
Alpha’s Tormented Slave Mate Chapter 44

The day of the funeral was a sad day for us all. I was proud of my mate and all the arrangements she had done. The send-off was sad but perfect. I am sure the Moon Goddess welcomed all the worthy warriors home. I stood there next to my Luna giving a speech as the loved ones all cried together while hugging their young pups. Afterward, we gathered in the dining hall for a meal. Ammie had told me of her day visiting the wounded warriors and encouraging them. She is the perfect Luna. I am truly blessed.

A few have been discharged from the hospital and even showed up at the funeral to say farewell to their fallen friends. They came up to me and thanked me for having such a mate as their Luna. They have shown nothing but high respect for her. Seems all the pack members have. A few days later I sit behind my desk in my office and discuss with Kyle the current situation.

"Is there any word on Jacob's whereabouts?" I asked him thrumming my fingers on the desk.

"That is the strangest thing, Chase. We have looked and sent out messages to other packs and it is as if he just vanished off the face of the earth." He says rubbing his hands down his face in frustration.

I give a frustrated sigh, "We can't stop looking. We don't know if he is still connected to Ammie or not. His accepting the rejection may have severed it but we have no idea. That bond seemed different, so I am not sure." I pause, "Are you enforcing to everyone we need him alive?"

"Yes, we are. I wouldn't want anything to happen to our Luna. She has been the best and I see a difference in the pack since she became Luna."

I smile, "She is special. I just wish I knew why the Goddess has kept a strange bond between her and Jacob?"

"That is the mystery."

I nod, "That it is,"

Later that day I went to watch how the training is doing. After watching for about thirty minutes, I decided to get into the sparring ring and work out some frustration. I smiled at my opponent who is one of my top warriors, next to Steven. "Don't go easy on me Alpha." He says smiling back.

"I would never go easy on you Cliff. I know how you fight." I get in to my stance and prepare to battle as he does the same.

The referee signaled for us to begin. I noticed how we have drawn a crowd around the ring to watch their alpha battle.

The signal was given, and we begin. Cliff ran toward me, and I was able to dodge his punch and swung my leg out tripping him. As he face-planted on the ground, I turned around towards him and he quickly stood up and came at me again. This time I ran toward him and punched his jaw hearing a crack of bone on impact. Shaking it off quickly he got a good punch to my gut just as I swung my elbow to the back of his neck. Just as I was about to take another swing, I caught the scent of my mate and turned to see her walking toward us. In my distraction, Cliff nailed me in the face and grabbing my arm held it behind me as he placed his other arm around my neck in a chokehold.

I hear a gasp and look over to my mate as she held her hand to her mouth with a concerned expression on her face. I needed to keep face with my mate and reached up grabbed Cliff by the neck with my free arm and flipped him over my shoulder while hearing a snap to the arm he held behind my back. He patted the ground in surrender, and I stood up and popped my shoulder back in place as I walked over to Ammie.

She looked at me and reached her hand to my face and pulled it back showing blood on her fingers. I smile at her, "It will heal."

"So, this is training?" She asks me taking the towel that was handed to me and wiping the blood off my face.

"Yeah, this is part of it. There are more but you have come out during sparring." I said with a smirk. "What brings you out here, love?"

"I want to train. I want to learn how to defend myself as well as our pups. I feel I need this."

I could tell she was serious about it. I nod as I think, then I say to her, "I think that is a good idea."

She smiles at me, "Really?"

"Really. We can begin tomorrow at six am."

She threw her arms around me in a hug and kisses me. "Thank you, thank you. I thought you would be against me training"

"No on the contrary it will be good for you."

"This is another reason I love you so much." She says smiling at me.

"Come on," I say, "Let's get back and check on our pups."

Together we walk back hand in hand.
