Chapter 96

Theo’s POV

“We are going to attack the royal coven tonight, Adam. I am trusting Crystal with you when I am gone,” I said t Adam in a serious tone while looking at my mate, who was now sleeping peacefully. She was exhausted, and I could say that she wouldn’t survive the next episode of pain.

“I want to come with you, Theo,” he replied to me in a pissed tone. I sighed. and shook my head negatively. “No, Adam…. Try to understand. It’s a full moon the day after tomorrow. It may be possible that Marcus has planned. something too. If that is the case, then Crystal will be in grave danger in our absence. She needs someone with her to protect her now.” I gave him the reason why I wanted him to stay behind.

“But,” he protested once again when his mother cut him off. “Theo is right, Adam. Crystal is now in her most vulnerable state. She is strong, but not strong enough to fight during the episode of pain. We need to stay prepared if we are attacked by Marcus or his hybrids in Theo’s absence,” Luna Elena said to him in a serious tone..

He opened his mouth to say something again but closed his mouth. He looked at Crystal with a troubled expression on his face. He was genuinely worried. about her, and right now, his inner turmoil was bigger than the rationality of his mind.

“Okay…. Bu… but try to come back as early as possible, Theo. I don’t know what I am going to do if she has another episode,” he said to me in a stiff tone, clearly indicating that he was still hesitant. I nodded to him and looked at Martha, and my mother. They had tears in their eyes, but they were still trying to stay strong. “I will be back soon,” I whispered to them, and they just gave me a small nod.

I then looked at Crystal one more time and stood up from the bed. Thunder whimpered in pain, but now was not the time to take care of our pain. I walked out of the room in heavy steps and saw my father and Alpha Adrian standing outside the room.

“I know that you two will not let anything happen to our pack, Dad, still I request that you stay vigilant and protect everyone,” I requested my father, and he passed me a tight smile. “Come back home soon, Theo,” he said to me

in a calm tone, but he was worried now.

“You don’t worry, Theo. We will not let anything happen to the pack until our last breath,” Alpha Adrian said to me in a calm tone. I nodded to him and then walked towards the stairs. Warrick was waiting for me there. He was going with me to the war. I asked him to stay behind, but he insisted. “Let’s go.” I whispered to him, and he followed me.

“Are you sure that you can trust Adam with Crystal’s safety?” Warrick asked met in a low tone, and I smiled lightly this time. “Did you forget how powerful his roar was earlier when Crystal was in pain?” I asked him while raising my brows, and he exhaled sharply.

“He is powerful enough to kill a fully grown alpha wolf with a single hand, Warrick. Also,” I answered him in a light tone and paused at the end while looking back in front of me. “Crystal needs a vampire’s blood to keep herself alive if the situation becomes worse for her, Warrick. Here, Adam is the only vampire and… an…and he can,” I paused when I felt a squeeze in my chest.

“We will be back before anything like this happens, Theo,” Warrick patted my shoulder, and I lowered my eyes while pursing my l*ps. I too didn’t want Crystal to drink from Adam, as it was too intimate for me to bear. Still, he was my only hope in that condition. “I don’t know why I have this feeling, Theo, but we can trust him,” Thunder said in a troubled tone, and I couldn’t help but agree with him.

We reached out of the pack and found everyone ready to depart. I was walking towards my car when my phone started ringing. I took it out of my pocket while opening the door of the back seat. It was William. I took the call and the phone on my ear.

“We are about to leave, William,” I told him while hopping inside. “How is she, Theo?” he asked me in a worried tone. I took a deep breath while closing my eyes. It was not like Crystal was the only one in pain. I can feel her pain through our mate bond, and it is now killing both of us. “She is sleeping, but she won’t survive the next episode,” I truthfully told him of her condition.

“We are about to reach the meeting point in an hour. Let’s meet there, and discuss the next course,” he said to me in a worried tone, but I could feel his determination. Nathan had already started the car, making me lean the back of my head against the edge of the back seat.

“Talk to Killian and ask where he is now,” I instructed William in a calm tone, but I failed to mask my tiredness. “Theo,” William called my name in a worried tone. “I am fine, William. It… It’s her pain,” I answered him, trying comfort him, but I knew him well.

“You will have some time to rest. Take some rest during the ride. You need your full strength tonight,” he asked me in a worried tone, and I just hummed in response, keeping my eyes closed. “Adam is with her, right?” William asked me in a low tone after a short period of silence. “Yeah,” I responded to him in a tired tone.

“Did you tell him what Nelson asked you?” he asked me, and I opened my eyes, staring at the roof of the car blankly. “I can’t,” I answered him in the same low voice. It was Nelson who asked me to tell Adam to feed Crystal his blood if she had another episode in our absence.

“I am still not sure that he can keep Crystal safe,” William muttered in the same worried tone. I smiled lightly once again. “His roar shook the whole pack. house when Crystal got her episode earlier, William. Is it enough to say that he is capable enough to keep Crystal safe if anyone attacks the pack in my absence?” I told him what happened earlier while asking him.

There was silence on his end for a few seconds, making me sigh internally. “I don’t know if I should say this or not as Crystal’s mate, William, but deep. down in my heart, I know that Adam will do anything to keep her safe. It’s not about her it’s about the family that he dreaded losing once again. Thunder also agreed with this. I broke the silence and spoke in a calm tone.

“I guess I need to have a proper conversation with him after returning from this battle,” he muttered, making me smile this time. “You shared a deep relationship with him, William. You were best friends. The incident was a huge blow for you, but don’t forget that his actions led Crystal to me, and now we are together because of him. I have no grudge against him now. You should also let the bygones be gone now.” I tried to persuade him but earned a scoff from him.

“Let’s not talk about it this time. This is not the best time to discuss something. like this,” he replied to me, and I took a deep breath. “Hey… Nelson is calling me… let me connect him too,” He told me, and before I could say anything to him, he put me on hold. I waited for him to connect the call again.

Theo, Killian is also on call,” William informed me as soon as he connected

me again. I narrowed my brows in confusion. I was about to reach the place in the next half an hour. Why did we need to have a meeting at this time?

“We are now following plan B, Theo.” Nelson said in a calm tone, but it made me widen my eyes in surprise. “Already?” I asked him in a surprised tone. “Yeah… Crystal’s assumption was right. Marcus has assigned three teams to attack our packs tonight. I don’t know if we will be able to get him tonight or not, but it’s good that we are already prepared for what is coming our way,” he told me in a calm tone, but I could feel his frustration.

“I have already informed Adrian and Sylvester, and they have already started proceeding. Vincent has initiated the security measures all around our packs, and Cynthia with Edward is now leading the warriors in the Royal Pack. We are also ready to initiate plan C at any time,” Nelson said further, and I took a deep breath. “Nathan, Plan B.” I mind–linked Nathan and instructed him. briefly. He knew what he needed to do.

“But for plan C, we need both Adam and Crystal, and Crystal is not in good. shape,” I replied to him in a calm but concerned tone. “You are right, Theo. I also feel that we shouldn’t think about implementing Plan C,” Killian said in a worried tone.

“I also agree with Killian and Theo, Nelson. We can’t risk Crystal’s life at this junction,” William also agreed in a worried tone, making me relieved to some extent. “We will execute Plan C after rescuing Catherine, boys. All these years, I have gotten a sample of Catherine’s blood from time to time so that my doctors can find a cure for her. Although they were not able to find anything to make her a werewolf again, they managed to prepare a medicine that can stop any changes in her b*dy for the time being. Crystal will get enough time. to regain her strength. Don’t forget that we have only one more night before the full moon. We don’t have any choice, boys. Crystal’s life is already at stake. We will all be with her in that battle. She will not be alone,” Nelson explained in a calm tone, but his voice was filled with worry.

There was silence for a few seconds. None of us knew how to respond to Nelson this time. He was right when he said that Crystal’s life is already at stake. She had only one more night before the full moon to get her life back, or else I would lose my mate forever. I wanted to do everything that could save my mate.

I am ready, Nelson. Let’s finish Plan B successfully before proceeding the Plan C.” I said in a firm and calm tone after thinking about all the pros and

cons of my decision. I was ready to die with my mate, but before that, I must

try to do everything to save her.
