Love Story4 - Chapter 8

Olivia. The manager of the administrative department.

I knew this person. She was promoted all the way up by the previous general manager of the administrative department and was highly valued.

However, Daniel's reaction upon hearing this was like a fawning puppy, just short of wagging a tail.

Seeing that I didn't speak, Cara thought I was scared and her face became even more smug: "Amara, are you afraid now? This is why Daniel wisely chose to leave a poor student like you and choose me instead." As she said the last sentence, Daniel unconsciously straightened his back.

"Darling, let's go to that new restaurant in the west of the city tonight. This time, I've checked in advance that they don't charge a service fee," Cara said, looking at me with a mocking tone.

Daniel took her hand, very enthusiastically: "Okay, darling."

The two of them turned and left.

That restaurant is also owned by my family.

Tch, how annoying.

As Mr. Hart's assistant, the administrative department was one of the departments I liaised with.

Yesterday, Cara must have said something to Olivia, because when I came to work with Olivia today, she was cold and dismissive towards me.

I tried to be patient, but I was getting angry: "Olivia, if you have any personal issues with me, please don't bring them into work.

It affects our efficiency."

Olivia was unfazed. She slowly stood up from her chair. She was wearing a business suit and 10cm high heels, making her a head taller than me.

She looked down at me, her eyes full of disdain and neglect, and said slowly: "Mr. Hart's Assistant, right? You're quite famous.

Although Mr. Hart recruited you into the company, company rules are still here."

"I've already told you, this document needs Chairman Chandler's signature. Without Chairman Chandler's signature, I won't accept this document from you."

For office supplies requisition documents above the general manager level, Chairman Chandler's (my dad's) signature wasn't actually required. The company rules didn't explicitly state this, there was just a clause saying that department purchases needed a superior's signature.

The superior of a general manager was my dad.

So she was playing word games with me to make things difficult.

Actually, I didn't have to handle the task of bringing the requisition documents to the administrative department, but I insisted on doing it myself because I wanted to familiarize myself with every department of the company. "Olivia, we've never needed Chairman Chandler's signature before," I inquired, puzzled, sticking to the facts.

Olivia smiled slightly: "It's precisely because the previous process was too casual, leading to many tasks being careless. So this was only stipulated yesterday. Assistant Su should be able to understand, right?"

I nodded: "I understand. When Mr. Hart runs out of office supplies and has nothing to use, that will be your responsibility."

"Don't bring Mr. Hart out to pressure me. Amara, I despise people like you the most, who use underhanded means to get ahead,"

Olivia's eyes filled with strong hostility towards me.

I didn't want to explain anymore: "Alright then, you can continue to despise me."

Olivia couldn't be bothered to say more to me either. She handed the requisition form back to me. As I took it, I noticed the ladies' watch on her wrist.

This was quite an expensive watch.

If I remember correctly, a manager's salary shouldn't be able to afford this.

There definitely has some issues.

After returning to my office, I quickly sent a message to my dad's assistant.
