After that day, Ryker became even more compliant with me.

He was even afraid to ask where I had been that day, for fear that I would look into it deeply. So my affair with Knox was let go. Knox was quite dissatisfied with this.

"Didn't you say you were going to settle scores with him?"

"When are you going to settle? When are you going to divorce?"

"I might as well just bankrupt him."

To this, I could only press my hand against his approaching lips.

"No messing around, I have my own pace."

Knox lowered his head and bit my finger: "Speed up the pace a bit, I want to take over him totally."

The turning point occurred two months later on a clear morning when I suddenly started vomiting uncontrollably upon waking.

Ryker was frightened, holding me while I rinsed my mouth and helping me catch my breath. Finally, he had no choice but to take me to the hospital. When the doctor said the word "pregnant", I was startled myself.

But soon, I knew that heaven had given me an opportunity.

Ryker was also surprised, but he quickly hugged me with joy:

"Lark, honey, we're having a baby!"

"Honey, I love you, thank you!"

"You don't know how long I've been waiting for this day!"

I was held in his arms, but my face was ice cold.

Someone who was so looking forward to having a child, yet frequently had affairs with another woman.

During this time, through the dashboard camera backend, I had caught several more instances of their intimate interactions, both in the car and in hotels.

In fact, since that day, I had used the excuse of feeling unwell and never let Ryker touch me again.

So now, I didn't know if the child in my belly was his or Knox's.

Returning home from the hospital, I sat on the sofa, held in Ryker's arms, but suddenly started crying.

I hugged his neck, acting out deep emotions to the extreme.

My tears fell profusely, landing in Ryker's palm, scalding his eyes red.

He remained silent for a long time, then, as if he had made some resolution, he held me tightly in his arms and promised in a deep voice.

"Lark, don't worry, I will always be by your and the child's side."

"I absolutely won't do anything to betray you, trust me."

After saying these words, Ryker helped me to the bedroom, and while I was asleep, he snuck out.

I opened my eyes and took out my phone, opening the dashboard camera's backend.

Sure enough, as soon as Ryker got into the car, he called Sage, saying he had something to discuss face to face.

The car drove to the bottom of Sage's building, then drove for another twenty minutes, arriving at a secluded small forest where they often had car sex.

The atmosphere in the car wasn't as passionate as previous times, but rather awkward.

After a long silence, Ryker spoke first.

"Sage, let's not meet anymore."

Sage clearly gasped, and when she spoke again, her voice was trembling violently.

"Why? Did she say something to you?"

"She knows? She's forcing you to break up with me, isn't she?!"

"That bitch!"

"Enough!!!"

Ryker roared angrily: "Who allowed you to curse her?! I'm warning you, you have no right to curse Lark and me!"

"Don't forget your identity, Sage! You're the third party who interfered!"

Seeing Ryker truly explode, Sage's momentum instantly weakened, whimpering pitifully.

"Ryker, Ryker I'm sorry, I didn't mean to....."

"I just like you too much, I really can't leave you."

"Don't break up with me, okay? I don't want any status, I just want to be by your side, don't you like me too?"

But Ryker didn't respond to her words, instead falling silent.

After a long time, he finally spoke in a low voice: "Lark is pregnant."

Sage was almost in disbelief: "Just because she's pregnant, she has a child, so you're going to abandon me?"

"You want to return to your family and stay by her side?"

"You just can't bear to part with her?!"

"Yes! I just can't bear to part with her!"

Ryker's voice was full of pain: "I love her. When the doctor said she was pregnant, that moment I realized how much I love her." "Sage, I beg you, let go."

"Let's not meet anymore, I won't do anything to betray her again!"

Sage was stunned, and after a while, she actually laughed.

"Okay... I'll let you go, but you have to do something for me too, okay?"

"Give me one last time, give me one last memory."

"I just hope our ending is beautiful, can you do that for me?

Please."

Ryker didn't speak, but the next second Sage took the initiative to kiss him.

Ryker resisted for a moment, but was soon overwhelmed by desire, once again falling into the tender trap.

The harsh sounds of gasping and flesh entangling sounded again, and I coldly clicked save.
