A Rogue For Four Alphas -
Chapter 50
Chapter Fifty
It's a fitful night of sleep, filled with so many restless nightmares that I don't wake up right away when the commotion starts.
There's a blaring horn, loud howling and soon overlaid with a bell, and then a repetitive thump. As I come to, there's a flurry of movement in the hallway, letting me know for certain that I'm not dreaming.
"Stay inside," Harry says, hurrying past me as I move to the stairs. A rush of panic hits me, but when I look out of the front window and see what's going on, fear is completely erased by rage.
Returning to my bedroom, I pull on a sweatshirt and shorts, and give Lily the same
instructions Harry gave me, "Stay inside."
"What's going on?" she asks, her voice thick from sleep. "Mom and her rogue packs are outside. Stay put. I'll make them leave."
"How did they? Oh shit, I'm sorry,Jasmine. She has a tracking app on my phone."
"Don't apologize. It's not your fault," I say as I turn to leave. All four men are outside, Ian and Harry on the front porch, Damon and Erik in the driveway, where the head leader of thee rogue pack, the dirt devil called Santos is leaning against his shitty beat-up truck and my mother is standing in front of it, yelling at the me "Where are my daughters?" she says.
"Where are they?" As soon as she spots me, she rushes forward, but Shane puts himself between us. "Where's Lily? She needs to come home."
"Why? So you can lock her in her bedroom and steal her innoncece away just like you did mine?" I say, practically spitting my words at her.
"You had no right to take her! I've been worrying about her all night!"
"You were not. You only ever worry about yourself."
My mother tries to advance on me, but Damon makes an excellent barrier, moving as she does, keeping us separated.
"Lily owes me money, though if you want to pay it, that'd be fine. Looks like a pretty fancy place you're living in." She surveys the house and the men with a gleam in her eye that makes me sick.
"Lily is staying with me, and neither of us are giving you any money, so you can leave," I tell her. Harry and Ian have come to stand beside me, offering unspoken support.
"Jasmine., dear" Her voice changes to a sweeter tone, as if that will have any effect on me. "Santos needs the money, and it's not much to ask. I'm sure you can afford it if you're living here since these men of yours came and we have no source of income from killing and molesting people "mother is really dumb.
"Leave," I say, anchoring myself in a wide stance, hands on hips.
She shifts tactics again, looking over her shoulder before saying, "Santos's going to be really mad at me,Jasmine, and he gets mean when he's angry." Now, maybe she is a loss under the consul of the devil Snatos but she still chose to stay. "Does he hit you?" Alpha Damon asks, sending a death glare in Santos direction.
"Your pack are your problem," I say, interrupting before she can answer. She was having San affair with Santos before father found out and he died fighting with Santos, stupid mother went ahead to move in with the rogue Santos. I hate that it happens, and I used to feel bad for her, but she chooses it, over and over again. She should've put her children first, but she kept bringing losers home, one right after the other, and she's damn lucky that none of them ever hit Lily when we were together or worse.
As if on cue, Santos comes sauntering up behind her. "Did you get your money yet or do we have to shed blood babe? What the fuck's taking so long? Erik steps forward. "Leave now, or we willl do what we should have done since westepped into this little town."
"Fuck that," Damon ays, pushing up his sleeves, balling his fists.
"Hey, hey, we got no problem with you as. Long as you go back to where you come from. You hypocritic self righteous beast. All these money are also ripped off from humans, why can't we do thesame in peace!" Santos says, putting up his hands in a motion towards Damon.
"We can come back another time. We can work this out later." Whsipered mother when she saw the claws of the four Alphas already out and the other rogues stepping back. Only stupid drunk Santos stood. "Leave, and don't even fucking think about coming back-ever," Damon says through gritted teeth.
Santos looked at them for a long time and pretty hard before backs up to his truck's door, keeping his eyes on Damon and Erik the entire way with his four rogues in the trunk. "C'mon, babe, let's go," he calls to my mother, who seems less inclined to give up the fight, probably sensing that Damon would never hit her.
"Listen, you little bitch," she says, her eyes narrowed at me. "After all I've done for you, you—"
"Leave now," Erik says, cutting her off, his voice even harder than Damon's had been.
With one final glare at me, my mother turns to go, and the men immediately circle around me, Harry and Ian close at my sides, Damon and Erik forming a barricade in front of me. I fight back watery tears of rage that I will absolutely not let fall.
As the truck drives out of sight, Harry takes me in his arms. "Are you okay?"
I still don't want to cry, but once he's holding me, I can't help it. All the suppressed tears fall, and more come behind them. "I'm sorry,I will never attempt to kill you or anything. I'm so sorry for not letting you guys know...." I say, turning to the side and wiping my eyes
"Shhh, c'mere," he says, pulling me back into his embrace and holding me tightly. "Everything's okay now."
It's not not at all - but things seem better while he's sheltering me. "Let's go back inside," Damon says, laying a hand on my back After a deep breath and another swipe of my watery eyes, I pull away from Harry. "I don't want to make a big deal out of this in front of Lily. She's been through enough."
"That's fine," Damon says
•
"You all need to get ready for work, don't you? What time is it?" I ask, looking around at each of them hoping to divert their attention.
"We'll be staying home today," Erik says, the lines of his face still tight with tension.
My brow furrows. "Why?"
"To make sure you're safe," Damon says.
"I'll be leaving to drive Lily to school soon, thankfully she is just an hour away." "And I'll go with you," he says.
"I've been dealing with my mother my whole life," I say, scowling at him. "I don't need a chaperone or a bodyguard. I'm not a child, and I'm not helpless."
Damon holds the front door open for me. "Never said you were."
